This place has been around since I was a kid. Been coming here for at least 40 years. Every time I come home for a visit I need to get a burger and ice cream. The burger was ok, I think they changed the type of beef they use. It was still good and the soft serve was good. It’s a drive in and the have old car shows there too

Burger was tasty and the curly fries were delicious.
The price was a little high, and they charge for lettuce and tomato.
A bacon cheeseburger and a small order of fries cost $ 12.

They have really good sea scallops, clams, and lobster rolls. We haven’t eaten any other food there yet. Their ice cream is fantastic. The Maine Black Bear made by Gifford’s is our favorite. They have lots and lots of ice cream flavors. They give large samples, but be aware that they charge 50 cents per sample. We will definitely be back if we come back to this area.

I so really want to like this place. Big fan of roadside dinning. Tried the clam fritters, looked great. However, little to no clams inside. All batter. Should have known when an order was only $ 4. Fries were standard fair. Frozen fried. Salads nothing to write home about. Ice Cream was a better fit. Big selection, and while not home made pretty good stuff.

Janine’s Frostee is an oasis of ice cream, hot dogs, burgers, seafood, and more! Live entertainment will often accompany your visit at this relaxing gathering place. There is plenty of outdoor seating (no indoor) with cover in case of a summer rain. They are closed during the winter months and usually open around mid-​March. The staff is very energetic and friendly!

I will never order food again … the only thing worth getting here is ice cream and even that’s OK

RThe food is your average road side drive-​in shop but the service is phenomenal! The ice cream is equally amazing! The atmosphere of locals is great and the live entertainment, car shows and charity events make the trip more than your money’s worth. I strongly suggest trying the coffee milkshake!

We happened upon Janine’s on the way to Hardwick Winery, and were pleasantly surprised. They have an extensive menu, plus ice cream, and the prices can’t be beat. The picnic tables were very clean, and our order came out quickly. My only complaint is that everything is served on styrofoam, which even fast food chains have opted out of because it’s so rough on the environment.

Janine’s is a long-​time fixture in this community. Every kid goes there with his/​her team at least once during baseball, soccer, etc season. People go for evening ice cream treats, lunches, and dinner. The food is generally very good, the menu is extensive, the portions are appropriate, and the prices are reasonable. It’s an overall good value.
The entertainment leaves a bit to be desired, and I prefer to listen to the car stereo and chat with my companions, and sometimes the service can be slow, but Janine’s is great for warm summer evenings when you’re relaxed and want really great burgers, fries, onion rings and something cold.

Great prices for the amount of food you get. The food is all freshly made to order, with quality ingredients. It is a locally owned restaurant with great service. The food varies from a lobster roll to a chili cheese dog. A great place to take the family on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon.
