If I could give 6 stars I would. This place is very popular so it gets busy during the summer. The fried clams are amazing and so worth the wait.

Went back recently for customer appreciation. Had boiled lobster, chowda and corn for lunch. Got lobster roll to go for supper. Yum. Claw meat not bits and pieces. Took my daughter there this week. I had clam plate with rings, she had the clam strips. I could barely finish the clams saved some rings to have with burgers at supper. My daughter ate half her order and had leftover for lunch next day. The Mrs heated in her New Wave oven and strips tasted as good as when they came out of the kitchen.

for seafood it’s our go-to place every time. can’t beat it. fresh clams, shrimp, scallops, fish and oysters! not heavy on the batter and good portion size. they could hold back on some of the fries though. clam cakes and chowder are also delicious. our favorite summer time spot for food and ice cream.

Five stars for the one and only blueberry pancake ice cream flavor they had one time. I wish I could eat gallons of it without gaining weight.

Delicious, fresh, fried New England seafood. Chowders are excellent, very good«stuffie» stuffed Quaohog(Linguica in there) though I would prefer if it had a little«crisp» from being heated in the oven instead of 60 seconds in the microwave. All in all, lived the place, can’t wait to return.

Cheap straw, cheap lid, spilled a drink in my car… Getting mad… I get the food, and it all goes away. Lobster roll with coke is amazing. Great food. Thank you! Ps, get better cups/lids/straws!

I love it. I love, love, love it. It’s a throwback to my childhood because nothing has changed since I was a kid. The food is delicious, and ice cream is yummy, the staff is friendly and I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. The seafood is a little pricey but no more than you would pay anywhere else. They will pack up your food to go, to your car, or to the patio. Everything is always delicious, you really can’t go wrong!

One: the«ambience:» Based on the Unilocal reviews, this place appears to be a sacred local summertime spot. Based on my visits here(and yes, there will be more), this place is a terrific throwback, and appears to have not been updated since the days of shag carpeting and Starsky & Hutch. This may be why so many people get their orders«to car,» meaning, they order, and then sit in their car and eat. Two: the food It’s fine. Three: the ice cream Nice variety, good flavor, lots of optional added cost add-on items. Four: the kids who work there Pretty much what one should expect. Polite enough, and young. Five: the mini-golf Basic course that fills a need as there’s not another one right nearby. It’s fine, but not well maintained, and the course has other people’s trash(like from the restaurant), and the holes themselves have tree debris. Two things that the person working the shed should take care of instead of just sitting in the aforementioned shed. Conclusion: It’s fine, and the locals seem to love it, so maybe give it a try?

The food is great… BUT I also found not one, but two hairs in my food. Kind of lost my appetite after that. I hope how they prepare the food in the kitchen is clean…

Rudely inattentive staff there tonight. Felt unwelcome and awkward. Waited by window to order and was ignored. Then told to order at other. Just wanted some ice cream. Left confused.

Just went for ice cream. It was fine, but the smell of garbage was really strong. Just standing outside waiting for the order, I kept looking for what must have been a full dumpster nearby. I don’t know where the smell was coming from, but it certainly would make me think twice before ordering seafood, beef, or poultry from them.

Best and freshest seafood in Wareham! Always have to stop when I’m in the area. Great portions and a lot to choose from! The seafood melts in your mouth! Can get busy in summertime so be prepared to wait for your food!

Sadness. If anyone from Kool Kone reads these, BRINGBACKYOUROLDOYSTERDISTRIBUTOR. I haven’t been back in almost three years, but I grew up in this area eating here and dreaming about it when I moved away. So dissapointing to come back and fine that the big, sweet juicy fried oysters had been replaced with these smaller ones. It threw off the breading to oyster ratio terribly. Your oysters need to be bigger! Ice cream is still fabulous.

Been coming here for years. Typical clam shack– mostly fried seafood and burgers/dogs. Food is pretty good, lines are usually long. Ice cream, I believe, is Richardsons and delicious. Prices are fair– and I love that they have a kiddie sized cone for under $ 2. Portions are large. Cleanliness is questionable– trash cans reeked and were overflowing. Eating area sticky and clearly ignored by staff. Bathrooms were gross and tiny. Really hope the employees are washing their hands elsewhere. My biggest complaint is that for a family-geared place– there is no restroom area with a changing table. I had to change my baby on the floor of the tiny restroom hallway. Even men walking by me apologized to me and said they were horrified that there was no space provided by the restaurant to do this! Very disappointing. I’d give four stars but for how dirty this entire place is.

I still like the ice cream and we still go for that. The indoor eating area has been quite dirty the last several times we went. The trash barrels have been over flowing and the tables sticky. The most off-putting item(and this is not specific to Kool Kone) is that they serve the catsup(or ketchup if you prefer) in those plastic squeeze bottles. Last visit i saw a young girl with her mother walking around sucking the catsup from the bottle. Never again will I use one of those dispensers.

I love this place. Such yummy wonderful food for a road stop so much more than ice cream. The seafood is delicious as were the steak tips and even shrimp Mozambique. The chowder is pretty good. I love their blue plate specials. Definitely great for families affordable. This place always has a line but they usually move fast. Sometimes we order ahead and pick it up.

Everything we ordered was really delicious. Although there was a long line the whole time we spent there, the food came out in a reasonable time. I ordered a chicken sandwich and they ran out of patties so the cook offered to make a fried chicken breast in place. Which was perfect because I prefer real chicken over a frozen patty. Really nice of him to offer. We also ordered a clam strip roll. My only complaint with this was that we assumed it came with fries and it didn’t. $ 11.00 for the clam strip roll and coleslaw. Small fries are $ 3.50 on the side. The clams were fresh, sweet, a perfect size, and delicious though. My(vegetarian) sister ordered a cheese quesadilla($ 4.50) which seems questionable when a grilled cheese is only $ 2.50. Either way, they are still obviously still reasonable prices. She got an order of cheese fries, the cheese could have been better, tasted more of flour than cheese. We also got a lobster roll which was equally delicious as everything else. On the small size but worth it. We all ordered ice cream drinks on the side and a lime rickey. Kahlua mint frappé, birthday cake frappé, and chocolate freeze. The chocolate freeze was thicker, more like a frappé. All yum! The best part is you can eat inside, in your car, outside, or take-out. They accommodate all situations. They take cards as well– $ 5.00 minimum. Would definitely return!

This is a staple eatery in Wareham that seems to do very well for a seasonal business. They are closed in the winter and open in the spring for the summer months. They serve fried food and ice cream, and they have the best frappes around. You stand in line to order and then your order number is called out. They package food for the car, patio, or to-go. The have an enclosed picnic table seating area and an outdoor portion as well. They have one bathroom. The only reason I did not give a fifth star is because at times the lines are so long, and the service therefore is slow. It would behoove this restaurant to know the little legume schedules of the surrounding towns so that they can have more stuff on hand after game nights(as it is a popular place to bring the kiddies and teams).
