For very late at night(think 4 am or so) on a weeknight, it was way too crowded. I couldn’t even use the bathroom during the bus rest stop period & gave up on waiting in the long line to get food. Nice selection of convenience store things but God will show up before you ever get items paid for.

Pretty nice stop on I85. They have everything and it’s open and clean. Relatively inexpensive gas, too. Much like the QT stations you find further south. We had gassed up at a station earlier but that station’s convenience store didn’t have what we wanted for snacks, so we grumbled and drove on. Davis came to the rescue.

I travel from MD to NC monthly and I stop here each way. They have the cheapest gas on 85. The bathrooms are always clean and the people are friendly. Subway is next door if you want a quick eat.

Nothing special, it’s just a standard rest stop. It isn’t super clean but its not dirty either.

The perfect rest stop for those long drives! You rarely find places as good as this on the road but this place exceeds even your original expectations. Clean restrooms, cheap gas, and a nice shop for you to grab some goodies before you head out again. Oh and did I forget, it even has a Dunkin Donuts! What more could you ask for?

ahhhh dunkin donuts … can’t seem to escape you. Even in the middle of no where you find me. God bless America.

The cleanest bathrooms and friendliest staff. Make this your pit stop even if it means holding it just a bit longer.

Most places you stop at along the 85⁄95 highway have consistently putrid restrooms. Davis Travel Center does a very good job at keeping things clean. I would have given them 5 stars a year or so ago but the cleanliness of bathrooms has dropped off slightly. DTC has more people stopping by these days which is good for the business but it comes with a price. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve encountered on the highway! If you’re traveling South it’s about 30 minutes after 85 starts in Petersburg.

There is a Subway and a Dunkin Donuts here so of that is what you want, it’s fine for that. Gas, for the area is very high. I have a card whic gives me 15 cents off per gallon but I can usually find gas cheaper. It’s not too ad on diesel however. There is a nice restaurant(just up the hill) well within walking distance from this truck stop with food much, much better. Just be aware the restaurant closes about 8:30 in the evening and is closed Fourth of July week. They have a salad bar which is getting more and more rare to find.

Almost exactly half way from DC to Charlotte, NC. This is the Breezewood of I85, a trip wouldn’t be complete without stopping to stretch.

I have been traveling between Richmond and the Triangle a lot lately. I-85 can be a lonely road along this stretch of southside Virginia. So I am glad to find a safe clean place to get cheap gas, something to eat/drink and use the restroom. It’s off Exit 39 in case it helps make it easier to find!

Nice clean restrooms — well lit — open 24 hours. Perfect for this stretch of road with no other real choices for rest stops.

Nestled in a clearing off exit 39, the Davis Travel Center is a good place to stretch the legs and take a break from the pine tree monotony that is I-85. But its like the secret truck stop. There are signs for it for miles on both I-95 and I-85 but I’ve hardly ever seen more than a few cars and a couple of trucks here. A big combo convenience store /Dunkin Donuts /Subway with reasonably priced gas, I’ve stopped many times to fuel up and grab something for the road. The convenience store has a good selection of beverages and prepared foods but its more like a big gas station convenience store than a traditional truckstop one where you can pick up the oddest assortment of things. I’ve recently enjoyed the addition of corn dogs to the food selections and have successfully mastered the maneuvering of and SUV up the on ramp without getting mustard everywhere. Big parking lot too where you can catch a few Zs if you’re too tired to drive. Nice as this section of the highway is decidedly rest stop no mans land.
