I was embarrassed for the books This place may love comics and romance novels but they couldn’t care less about the tens of thousands of non fiction books that are hurled into some dark, forsaken back room with a schizoid shelving logic that goes something like, «Jam all books on digital photography, Urdu, Gettysburg and Marlon Brando on this here shelf.» I wanted to stage a rescue.

Good store, overcrowded with stock. In the 21st century, with half price books, digital comics and amazon, having so much stock can make searching the store tedious; I couldn’t find 2 of 4 books I was looking for, and 2 others we’re cheaper on amazon.

They need some couches, and a restroom. If you throw in the City Bites just a few feet away I would never have to leave. The layout is very crowded though. The bookcases are made of cinder blocks and wooden planks, which I liked. They proclaim to be the largest used book store in the Oklahoma City area; I don’t know if it’s true, but what I’ve seen is definitely impressive so I’ll take their word for it. I felt a little overwhelmed when I was searching through their used books but that’s probably because I wasn’t really sure what to look for. I did notice that they have an incredibly huge genre of books that I do not care for at all. Literally a third of the used books in there is Romance or a subset of the Romance genre. Thankfully I didn’t see anything Twilight related in there. Their comic selections are also pretty impressive(I’m not one of those über-nerds who checked to see if they had obscure titles), and I saw some titles that were older and popular. They also have some fun toys and t-shirts that gave me and my friend a good laugh. Lastly, the employees are nice and you are going to have to interact with them at some point when you’re in there because you’re probably not going to find what you’re looking for otherwise.
