I am so happy a soul food place is so close. My collard greens and fried okra were outstanding. That being said, upon ordering i tried to use a coupon i had for the establishment with no expiration date the gentleman told me his manager said he couldn’t take them anymore… bad business also, tried to order shrimp and they were out and my husband’s mashed potatoes were instant… insane for the price. I would try again but im not sure he would. It was a bummer i was super excited

Hmmm, to be polite, I will just say this is NOT the best soul-​food place I have ever visited. My sisters and I ordered a few different dinners (smothered chicken, mac/​cheese, turkey chops, fried fish). The mac/​cheese was mushy… over cooked and the cheese was either imitation cheese or ‘mild’ cheddar. The fried chicken was made using old oil/grease…it tasted re-​fried. The fish was over cooked and the turkey chops had no flavor. All in all the food tasted like something from a cafeteria or hospital… it lacked seasoning and taste.

I will say the service was friendly, and I got what I ordered. But, church mothers cooking it is not. Honestly, it was my first, and I’m sure my last time there. The chicken was okay, and sad to say I’ve had better from Kroger. I didn’t even finish my sides. I was a bit disappointed. The pictures looked good, but the taste didn’t make the mark.

I LOVED IT. i wasn’t expecting much from a little out of the way joint hidden in a strip Plaza on the corner of 12/​schonheerr, I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.. I ordered 2 diners, catfish and fried chicken, both with collard greens and mac n cheese IT WAS ALL GOOD, TASTES GREAT. I’M a very good soul food cook, so most of these soul food carry out places are awful to me, but this one was very tasty.. The seasoning was on point, the fish and chicken were fried perfectly, the greens were’re great (perfectly coked, not mushy).I WILL DEFINITELY VISIT AGAIN.. Soooo happy to drive only a mile away to get good food when I don’t feel like cooking on a hot, humid summer day… HALILLUJA, THANK U JESUS, I DON’T HAVE TO DRIVE TO DETROIT…

This was my first time here. we order 4 dinners and waited 1 hour to get them. When I got my food home, I realize the girl rung up the wrong food order. Then I started eating the food. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! How are they still in business. They gave me re-​fried chicken! the mac /​cheese was bland. the yams were ok. the chicken was so dry, I threw it away. Money wasted. SERVICE FAILURE!!! FIRST TIME, LAST TIME!

This little place is a hidden gem in Warren. I just visited this place with a craving for fast food, instead I chose soulfood. I got the chicken breast, Mac and cheese, yams, with the dressing. LET ME TELL YOU! This mean was amazing. Chicken was juicy, dressing was so good. Tastes just like at home, Mac and cheese was delicious. Parking is open but does get steamy on the inside from all the food cooking. GO EAT HERE

This place is great! Their dinners are pretty large. Everything is fresh and piping hot when you get it. I love their chicken and waffles, though I wish a chicken breast was an option, instead of wings. The waffle is sweet and doesn’t get soggy. The chicken is crispy and has a great flavor. Their red beans and rice is delicious. The beans have just a little bite to them. I’m glad to have them in my neighborhood.

Their food is wonderful and the customer service is excellent. The fried pork chops, Mac & cheese and yams are the best. An also the rib tips and greens are good too. And just to think I live near by and would always take a trip to the west side of Detroit for my soul food. I’am so glad my mother told me about this place. They also gave me a $ 5 gift card when I spent $ 25 or more. The prices are great too. I would recommend this place to everyone.
