Their signature Catfish Poncharan was pretty decent. The Fried Oyster Po Boy was excellent though. These sandwiches are large enough for 2 people. Their corn bread was very dry and lacked flavor. I would come back to try some of their other PoBoys.

We saw this place by accident and decided to give it a whirl. I’m a fan of Louisiana style and cajun food, so it was an obvious choice. It’s located on Chicago Rd. just east of Van Dyke in a run-down shopping strip. The building isn’t much to look at, but you can tell it’s there by the signage in the windows. The interior has been put together decently. They have old school furniture, the floor looks decent and there’s an old piano located in the corner. It’s kind of cool. The folks who work there are decent and a nice older gentleman was our server. I really want to like this place, but unfortunately, the food is not that good. I had jambalaya. It was nearly inedible. I hate to tell them, but this is not authentic New Orleans Jambalaya. It was bitter and almost appalling. My wife had Gumbo and I tried it. While it was a little better and was edible, it was nothing to write home about. I suggest the owners of this location take a trip to Fishbones and order the same menu items. Then go back and try their best to duplicate it. I’m betting this place won’t be in business within 6 months unless they make some serious recipe changes. Sorry.
