I moved to sterling heights from Madison Heights recently… so haven’t had a decent chinese experience in a while. For the entire 9 months of living in Madison Heights where the Chinese food is deplorable. Literally, every iteration of chicken I ordeed, was just sweet and sour breaded chicke rolled in nappy, bland sauce. Thank GOD that chapter of life is over. New Star Express knows the beauty of having different kinds of breading for different dishes. The sesame chicken(this is always my test dish) was crispy and it’s sauce pleasantly sweet and not too thick. They include a few pieces of brocolli, which is something I do love to have in mine. The fried rice was a nice brown, definitely not bland but not too salty either. I’m not a big fan of egg rolls so I feel weird talking about it, mainly because they vary so greatly from place to place and I have only had a few I really enjoyed, but this one is at least palatable, not sweet and thankfully no cinnamon(I detest cinnamon in egg rolls). Though I will say it is PACKED with sprouts, which I like but maybe not in such quantities. The crab Rangoon isn’t the sweet version I like best, but it isn’t bland either. It’s got some bits of what is probably imitation crab, and onion, though not chives. It has a nice bite to it. It’s a good contrast to the plum sauce and the sweet sesame sauce. Overall, this is the best chinese in have had in YEARS! Will order again! I’m just so glad I can finally stop avoiding chinese.

First time there and I WILL be back. I had the chicken, pork, shrimp lo mein and it was excellent! I asked for it hot/spicey and got it just the way I like it. You will not be disappointed.

Got food for the first time tonight. Portions are HUGE! I spent $ 19.90 for a quart of the best wonton soup I’ve ever had and 2 dinners which each came with fried rice, a dinner roll and an egg roll! The dinners are SO huge that there will be at least 2 more, if not 3 more meals made out of this. I got steak kow; LOTS of fresh veggies in this dish. My only complaint, it’s a little on the salty side. My fiancé got shrimp chow mein. He was impressed with how much shrimp was in it and he said it was really yummy. Everything was hot & fresh. This is our new go to place for Chinese. Going to try ABC next time though. Hopefully the gravy isn’t as salty as this steak kow sauce. Oh, the lady at the counter was very friendly. Seems like a clean place. I’m fairly impressed. 4 stars instead of 5 just due to saltiness, otherwise would have been a solid 5!!!

This place has the best Chinese food I’ve had in the area. I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese food and am very partial to a place called Wonton where I grew up, no place I’ve been to around here compares. Until now! The egg roll and wonton soup are delicious. The sesame chicken was good, not spicy enough for my liking, but good! The crab Rangoon is the kind that is chunky and has an after taste of onions which I personally do not like from anywhere. I prefer the ones that are smoother and cream cheese consistency BUT my friend enjoyed them and for spending $ 13 it was a ridiculous amount to share – enough for 3 people at least. It was fast, cheap and friendly. The women working the counter was very sweet and helped me with the menu during my first visit! I’ll definitely be going back.

I have had a rough day, and this Chinese food just gave me life. The General Tso’s Chicken is the best I have had since I moved to NM. This little spot is a nice place to get some good take out while you are in the Sterling Heights area!!! Great food.

I dont know what happened to this place, it use to be amazing. I ordered schezwan beef, a spicy dish with a lot of vegetables. I got spaghetti with meat, vegetables and a sweet sauce. Some of the vegetables weren’t even chopped, in fact the onion was quartered and thrown on top. The meat was very tough for being cut so thin. The sauce was just terrible, no only was it not spicy but it tasted almost spoiled. I ended up throwing my entire order out after a couple bites in fear of getting sick.

Mmm their food is sooo good. Their shrimp fried rice is perfect and they have really good eggrolls. It took a long time for me to find my go to Chinese food place across 8 mile but I finally have and this place is a winner. They’re fairly cheap too so try it. You won’t be disappointed.

The best chinese food on the east side. I love the General Tso’s and the Almond Chicken dinners. The Chicken Fried Rice that comes with the dinner is great.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. They even have some Thai dishes. My go to dishes are the General Tso’s chicken dinner combo and the crab rangoon. They also have this wonderful sauce that goes with the egg roll which is unlike any sauce I’ve ever had. Sooo yummy! The lady at the register is so nice and professional. No offense, but you can understand everything she says and she can understand you. The food is always good, hot, and fresh. It’s also very reasonably priced and you get lots of food for your money. I couldn’t ask for more!

Love this place the food is good, portions are large, and the price is right! They have the best crab rangoon out of the many places i have tried! The Orange Chinken is also very good! My girlfriend and I get take out from here often when we both don’t feel like cooking at home.

General Tao’s was good(a little spicier preferred), large portion, inexpensive and lots of extras: egg roll, fried rice and yeast roll. Woman at register was super nice and helpful. Will be back!

I tried to order delivery from this company and it was nothing but trouble. Person on phone was very short and rude to me and said something about some delivery service and was very annoyed when I didn’t understand what he was talking about. I apparently would have had to call someone else? Not friendly or patient with customers.

Moved to area in October 2013 and decided to give this place a try. Our first experience was ok. Nothing amazing. I am not a fan of their fried rice. But the chicken they use in their sweet and sour, general tso, orange, bourbon, and sesame chicken is great! All white meat and no fat and never over or under cooked. My go to dish is their beef lo mein. My boyfriend is not a fan of the egg rolls, they have always been soak in grease and mushy. But everything else we have tried including the wonton soup is very good. Fair priced. I wish they were open later on Friday and Saturday nights though. Here is a link to their menu. It says there is delivery available, but we have never used the service.

I am sad to write this review actually. This was our favorite place to eat up until it switched ownership(last summer I believe). We still gave it a shot after and it seemed the same at first. Then one time my husband found a screw in his rice. And for some reason we actually went back after that, which is when we found out they had new egg rolls which were seriously inedible. So unfortunately the search is on once again for our new Chinese go-to for carry-out.

Only Chinese place I frequent because it is quick and amazing! The owners are always kind to me when I walk in the door, they are short on the phone but never rude. If you eat here, go pick it up, DONOTUSEWOKTOYOU. If you use them, you will have horrible service and you will wait for hours. That is not an exaggeration, you will literally wait hours. Anyways, I love new star express!

This Chinese take out place is exactly what I need for quick and fast Chinese food! I am not usually a fan of these kinds of take out only places but friend insisted I try it out it’s a nice little spot and the owners are super nice and give me bigger portions. Faves are General Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. It’s kind of a hole in the wall but found my honey hole in Warren! noms!
