Turf’ N Surf Burger Grill

High quality beef patties piled high. Flavorful, fluffy buns and a good selection of meats, fishes that’ll please carnivores and pescetarians. Very green arugula based salads for the vegans.
Only criticisms are the prices, which tend to spiral away from the customer and the complex ordering board, which requires a procedure akin to learning a dance. Also, everything is a la Carte including the toppings. Kinda aggravating.
But the food is good, and that’s ultimately what brought me back

Always a great place for good food with minimal wait. OK, minimal wait once you order. Because it’s so popular, the line to order can reach the door. But it’s worth the wait. Great variety of meats and how to have them prepared.
Overall, a nice place to eat!

Had recently tried Brioche Burger Bistro because it was on GrubHub and wanted delivery, but it took over an hour and a half to get delivered and was just ok. Reading their reviews on Unilocal,people said Turf N Surf was better, and my husband and I trust fellow Unilocalers and we weren’t let down! Not only were my bacon burger, my husband’s buffalo chicken, and my daughter’s chicken tenders scrumptious (if not a little messy), but the service was excellent! My 3 yr. old daughter grabbed at her chicken too fast and said she burned herself, and the guy at the counter immediately came to check on her. We said it was ok, but a minute later he came and brought her oranges which made her light up. Things like that are exactly why we will come time and time again.

Great fresh burgers. Highly recommend the habanero burger. Good kick but not spicy. Very casual place with fancy burgers.

The burger was a very tasty one. I think was called the Black and Blue burger Inside out. The young man behind the counter was very helpful in explaining the menu to me.
I decided to have my burger over a Caesar’s Salad. I have had better Caesar’s Salads for 99 cents at Wendy’s.
I do expect to go back because the burger was that good but next time, in keeping with my new low carb lifestyle I may just skip the salad and opt for 2 burgers.

We «yelped» this place one night while looking for a place to eat and decided to give it a try since the reviews looked promising. It was fantastic! Great food, fun atmosphere (esp since we had our 2 and 5 y/​o with us); basically up-​scale fast food. You order at the counter, go to your seat and they bring you food a few minutes later. I had salmon on a spring salad (yum), my kids both had fish sticks and fries (very good quality fish), husband had salmon on spanish rice and he was stuffed. The burgers looked amazing too, but we were on a fish kick, that night.
Not a romantic date-​night type of place, but great for fun gathering or and good for kids.

Located in what looks like an unassuming office strip, inside you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find a burger joint with a big storefront windows, surfing décor and a friendly vibe. You place your order at the cashier and they will give you a number and your food will be delivered to your table.
I’ve been here twice now and both times have been impressed. The first time I got the angus burger with mushrooms and swiss, topped with bacon and a fried egg. It was cooked perfectly, meat juicy and tender, with the toppings creating a party in the mouth. My wife got the turkey burger and proclaimed it the best turkey burger she ever had. 2^nd time around I got the Cuban sandwich special and that was amazing. I was most impressed by the pieces of pulled pork, that were so tender and juicy yet not fatty. I recommend you get it while it’s still a special. I hope it becomes part of their regular menu.

We needed to grab a quick dinner on a Sunday evening while passing through Warren so we decided to give Turf ‘n Surf Burger a try. It is set back from the road in the Arch Plaza. First impression of the place was good. Fresh uncooked burgers displayed in a clear glass display case. The grill and prep areas are open and allow you to see the cooks working. Seating was good and décor was a bit rustic with some cool barrel high tables.

The menu above the counter explained the steps to ordering. Step 1, choose a turf or surf protein. Step 2, choose sandwich, salad or on a dish over rice and your toppings and sauce. A friendly young lady took our order and gave us a number to display at our table. Before long a runner brought our order. I had the 6.5 oz Angus burger, medium rare with pepper jack cheese. And that is just what I got. You could see and taste that this wasn’t cheap ground beef or full of stretchers. All of our burgers were cooked just how we ordered them. My burger could have used a bit more cheese but that is my only criticism. The fries were good and cooked crispy. Plenty of napkins are provided at each table and you will use a few to eat the juicy burgers.
As we finished and got up to leave many of the girls said goodbye to us and one young lady asked us how our meals were and seemed happy that we were pleased. I will return to try something from the surf soon.

Came here expecting fireworks cause of all the Unilocal reviews and that’s exactly what I got.
I got the turkey classic cheese burger with guac and a side of sweet potato fries. It was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and a savory taste. The sweet potato fries were also made to perfect with the right amount of crunchiness and yummy flavor. My husband ordered the angus beef burger and onion rings, let me just tell you this place is not close to where we live and why did he go back one week later? Cause it’s that good!

Turf N Surf is a great place to grab a fresh healthy lunch. The turkey salad was excellent and the sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly.
Of you’re in the mood for meat they have a large selection of burgers that put over rice or on bread. My husband got an amazing rice platter… he said was the one of the best lunches he’s ever had.
The food is super fresh and the staff is always polite. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!

Believe the reviews. This place is just about as good as it gets. I made my first trip to this restaurant the other weekend. The food was so good that I just had to come back the following weekend to try more of their menu. Their menu is somewhat unique and slightly confusing at first, but once you understand how it works, you’ll probably appreciate the way it’s set up. In my opinion, the menu online is actually much easier to understand than the chalkboard menu at the restaurant, so I recommend checking it out online first if you plan on making a visit for the first time. The restaurant itself isn’t too big, and it has a simple yet pleasant interior. The staff behind the counter is always very friendly and accommodating.
The first time I was here, I ordered the inside out habanero jack cheese burger on a buffalo chipotle bun and a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was amazing! Each bite was filled with so many different layers of flavors and textures, and they all worked so well together. The cheese infused meat was juicy and cooked really nicely. The burger as a whole was a good level of spiciness. If it was any spicier, it probably would’ve been less enjoyable. I also appreciated the fact that the bun didn’t get soggy or messy at all while I was eating it. The sweet potato fries were crispy and on par with the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had! They were especially delicious when eaten with the honey mustard dipping sauce. For my second visit, I wanted to try something from the surf section. I went with the salmon and Spanish rice, and it turned out to be an amazing combination. The salmon was grilled perfectly with just a little bit of seasoning. The outside had the slightest crispy texture while the inside was soft enough to break apart easily. The Spanish rice was packed with flavor, and the ingredients used were balanced flawlessly. There were small bits of meat spread throughout the rice, and they were all great. I enjoyed the overall flavor composition of this dish even more after adding a little bit of lemon to the salmon.
The prices here can vary greatly depending on what you order. The cheapest combination would be the chicken breast on a classic bun (around $ 7) while the most expensive combination would be the large serving of scallops over Spanish rice (around $ 20). Still, I feel that the prices are pretty reasonable here overall since the food is high quality, and it seems to be consistently prepared well. I will definitely be back in the future to experiment with different combinations of their menu items (and also to try their fish taco platter)!

New to the area so I decided to try it out. Location was hard to get to and confusing because I’m not from the area but I heard good things about it and wanted to try it out.
The food came out quick and still warm. I ordered a turkey burger that wasn’t cook well. I didn’t notice it until I saw some parts pink. It didn’t come with anything so I ordered sweet potato fries. It was a bit pricey for just that and a drink it was $ 15. Another downside was that they had no ice in the soda machine and it was over 90 degrees outside. Also the tables were not cleaned and it was packed. I got stuck with a table that had ketchup everywhere.
Probably won’t be returning again.

Its in an odd location, in a strip mall located behind another strip mall, but don’t let that deter you. I found it by accident one day when my hair salon’s parking lot was full and I had to park behind the building lol
They have 2 – 3 tables where you can eat outside during nice weather, and table seating indoors. You place your order at the counter, and they deliver the food to your table when its ready.
The also offer call-​ahead take out.
They have a large chalkboard menu listing the many different options you can add to your meal.
As the name indicates, its surf and turf burgers. So, you can order things like salmon, scallops, fish tacos, grilled or dried chicken, or burgers.
The burgers have different options. For example you can order the angus, rib eye, grass-​fed burger, or «inside out» burgers (made with habanero jack, bacon cheddar, or bacon blue cheese inside the party), or a turkey burger, veggie burger, lamb burger, etc.
Theres a separate side menu for things like onion rings, etc, and another menu where you can pick what you want done to your burger, for example bbq sauce, mushrooms, buffalo chipotle sauce, etc
You can even have your burger or fish in a salad, or over rice.
My burger was cooked perfectly, was juicy, and even the bun was my favorite kind of soft, tasty bread rather than the frozen stiff bread that comes on a lot of tavern/​bar burgers.
I’ve paid twice as much for burgers that didn’t taste as good as this burger did!
I can’t wait to go back to try some of the other options.
I’ve had the scallops, which are $ 10 for 4 or $ 15 for 6. Expect to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the scallops to be made. They were very good. They burgers are world class, so I was hoping the scallops would be too but they are only very good.
I’ve had the grilled chicken with the bbq ranch option. It was fantastic.
I highly highly recommend this place if you are in the area and want a delicious, reasonably priced casual meal.

Hidden gem.
You walk into this joint not expecting to much, I mean, it’s in a strip mall behind another strip mall… kind of a weird location, but that clearly doesn’t stop this place, its always packed with satisfied customers. You are greeted by a deli case with burgers, fish and more all pleasantly displayed for your taste buds to go wild. I have gone here EVERY DAY FOR 16 DAYS. and let me tell you, I never get sick of it. I’ve had bacon cheddar stuffed burgers on a bum with chipolte mayo, organic grass fed beef burgers over spa ish rice and chorizo, grilled chicken over rice or in a salad with buffalo chipolte dressing, even amazing fish tacos. Every day I manage to try something new and love it just as much.
The prices are good for what it is, a little pricey for work lunches but still not bad for quality ingredients. The table space is decent with two tables outside if you’re feeling lucky in the jersey humid.
I seriously freaking love this place. Best burgers ever, and I’ve reviewed an insane amount of burger joints. I bring all my friends and family here and everyone is taken away. Seriously go here! Also, you never leave feeling bloated or bogged down… Its fresh and not greasy.

I’m basing this rating on my overall experience. There is always a line and it’s not necessarily because they are that busy but bc the employees seem to be slow with the ordering process. The food itself is halfway decent but everything on the menu is followed by «add_​_​_​$». Everything is extra money. It can get costly by the time it’s all said and done. The burgers are ok. The only benefit is you can get healthy choices here like a small piece of salmon over rice or veggies. If you never go here, you won’t be missing anything. There are better burger places in warren.

I dropped my kid off to the Bounce Factory which is a half mile down the road and I was looking for something to eat. I found Turf N Surf on Unilocal and what a find this place was. It is tucked away in a shopping center and inside is just pure awesomeness.
All I had was the Turkey burger. However it was literally perfection. I don’t eat red meat, so even finding a turkey burger is challenging. However to find one that was done absolutely perfectly is next to impossible. For those that are fans of the In-​N-​Out burger on the west coast you will appreciate these burgers. This burger was much bigger than those, however the bun was soft and pliant, the vegetables crisp and plentiful, and the cheese and mayo — oozy and just plain goodness. The turkey burger itself was clearly made there and it had the exact right consistency. Juicy but not wet. Soft and firm at the same time. Just the right amount of salt. WOW. WOW. Can I get another WOW.
I live 30 minutes away, but I will be back to Warren NJ just for this place. There is much else to try and next time I will have more things. Turf and Surf — Thank You for being you.

I had a trading class in somerset. So I looked in my bookmarks and noticed turf and surf grill wasn’t too far away.
I walk into this joint and the aroma hits u. That nice working grill scent. I was definitely overwhelmed by the menu l, not in a bad way. There were many options to choose from. So the guy told me. Pick ur protein then pick ur vehicle (bun, salad or rice). I went with the hibenero jack beef burger on a brioche bun with mushroom and Swiss my coworker picked the turkey Classic. We ordered sweet potato fries and onion rings to share.
The food came out pretty quick and the sides were first and were huge portions. The freshly beer battered onion rings were so crunchy and delicious. The sweet potato fries were also a nice treat crispy on the outside with a nice soft inside.
Then the burgers came out shortly after. The look of both burgers were something from a commercial where the burger is always perfect. Biting into my burger was such a culinary adventure. From outside to in. First u bite through the soft lightly toasted brioche bun, then the sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss, finally the perfectly cooked, med rare hibenero and jack infused beef burger. And there was a nice char taste to the burger which was very pleasing. It was definitely one of the best burger experiences of my life.
I definitely want to try out all the other option turf and surf has to offer. There is something for everyone here. And the prices were very reasonable for something that fresh.
