Love this place and I would definitely come back if around(although I live far from here). This place is located in a small NY town with a few spaced out restaurants and small shops. This place is quite old school, with one side bar, one side restaurant. The restaurant had wooden floors, tables, and walls with a few photos from long ago. The menu isn’t too big and everything is pretty cheap. Service was really good. We just stopped for burgers, so we didn’t try anything too extreme. We started with an order of medium wings(10 for $ 11). They were quite large and were succulent as well. Definitely try those. I got a classic half pound burger for $ 10, which was extremely reasonable. The beef was cooked to my liking and tasted fresh with the vegetables. Their potato chips were very nice and light. Their local burger(bacon, smoked cheddar) was very good with very complex flavors.

Back down the hill after a morning of shopping at Oscar’s Adirondack Smoked House, my Dad and I spotted a little inn by the side of the road, and after a quick perusal of the Unilocal ratings, we decided to stop for lunch. George Henry’s is named after an avid sportsman from the region, and this converted inn has been remodeled into a small«locals» restaurant and tavern. The day we were there, most of the dining room was taken over by a local softball team, and the little guys were really excited for winning against a tough competitor. Methinks the coaches were ready for a few beers, but everyone was on their best behavior. The menu is the usual pub fare of appetizers, soups, salads, chicken wings, burgers, sandwiches, and paninis, with a few interesting twists to show off the local cuisine. I had a cup of their Beef, Bison, and Beer chili which was made with ground beef and bison with tomatoes, onions, pinto beans, garlic and chili powder, simmered with Bear Naked Ale. YUM!!! To that I added a standard half-pound Black Angus burger with fries. My Dad, being the adventurous soul that he is, had the French Onion soup, followed by the Larry the Lobster burger with sweet potato fries. His«burger» was lobster knuckle and claw meat on a bun with chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. He was busy making happy faces while gobbling down his sandwich, so I knew that he was enjoying his lunch. We declared George Henry’s a win, and a nice place to stop for lunch following our day in the Adirondacks.

My experiences here have gotten worse every time I come. The wings are never amazing anymore, sometimes cold, sometimes lacking sauce, sometimes overcooked. Just haven’t been great. Favorite flavors are still hot, parm garlic, and sesame ginger. Tuesdays are all you can eat wings for $ 15(I think), but the wing quality was the worst on this day I didn’t even want to eat that many The appetizers we’ve had were all really bad. Spinach artichoke dip is velveeta quality dip, with very little spinach and maybe two artichokes. Tortilla chips are good. The nachos are ridiculous — so bad. A bowl of cheese sauce, chips on top, a random scoop of salsa and a scoop of tomatoes, maybe 3 jalapenos, some sour cream and olives. All seemed to be out of a can of some sort. The pub platter is also bad — cold mozzarella sticks(cheese not melted), frozen store chicken fingers, fries, onion rings, and mac and cheese bites. The lamb burger is ok — overcooked but still juicy, pretty small, tzaziki didn’t have much flavor, and the sundried tomatoes could’ve been diced/chopped, but it tasted ok. Housemade chips need something — a sprinkle of parmesan, some salt, or something because they are pretty flavorless on their own. On top of this, the prices aren’t especially cheap or anything, so that really doesn’t help GH’s case. If I’m spending 30 on a meal then I would hope the quality is better than a microwave meal. I’ll still give them 3 stars because the wings are better than a lot out there, and service is decent.

I feel like I was at a different place than everyone who wrote the reviews. Waited forever… forever for a grilled cheese. It’s like it was made and than they didn’t bring it out for over twenty mins. Gross. Took one bite and didn’t finish even though I was fn starving… My bacon I cooked in a microwave stopping at Stewart’s was 100 times better. Bf was happy w his dinner even though the bartender said he thought it was cooked wrong . Bartender was the best part of that experience. Very friendly and attentive

Stopped here on a whim driving back home from upstate. Right off the highway, clean, with friendly service. The seafood au gratin was amazing. Wasn’t expecting this quality of a meal from a tavern. Really delicious.

We found this gem via Unilocal… and thank goodness! Great wings and burgers! We were two adults and three kids… reasonably priced, comfortable, Adirondack décor… just what we needed on the road. Would have been five stars if the Mac and cheese were homemade and NOT Kraft… the Druthers IPA was stellar… Enjoy!

We just happened upon this restaurant while driving on a scenic drive in the Lake George area. There were several cars in the parking lot in the late afternoon, which is almost always a good sign. We both had the Half Pound Burger and fries, which were both delicious. The burger was seasoned well, and fries had the perfect crispness on the outside and softness on the inside. We plan to be back before we leave the area.

WOW! OMG! The Irish Burger was amazing! Onion Rings were fantastic! This was truly an amazing local gem of a find and when we are back to Lake George in Sept we will be sure to visit George Henry’s too! We went for a late lunch and when we left it was filled and started to get a line of people. The place inside is a bit small and can get loud especially with kids but the food makes up for it!

What a great restaurant. You know your in the right place if the locals eat there. On vacation in Lake George and stopped by the restaurant because we heard great things and we were not disappointed. Great local craft beer selections and all of us loved or meals. I got the turkey burger and it was cooked to perfection. My wife has some gluten issues and the waitress and chef were excellent with meetings those needs. Clean place, polite friendly staff, and Excellent food. Place was very reasonable priced.

This will be my first Unilocal review but I feel the need to commend this restaurant/pub. Not only did they have great beers on tap but their food is on point!!! The wings are great. They had a creamy sauce on them u will just have to try to see what I mean(we tried three diff favors). The fat burger along with the other burgers were great(we had 9 adults and 2 kids in our party). The Popeye sandwich and the clams(delicious wine sauce) were also amazing! I also want to complement Cassandra our waitress, my son had a bit of a melt down and she came out with a magnet board within 30 seconds of his crying without us asking for anything… She also got his food out early so he could start! Plus all of our food came out fast, hot and with a smile!!! Probably best place to get burgers, beer and wings in the area!!!

We ordered an app sampler platter. Just based on the platter – which may not be fair, I’ll let you decide – the food here is mediocre at best. Our«pub platter» consisted of chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, beer-battered onion rings, macaroni and cheese bites, and french fries. All five items were of the frozen, processed variety. Not one was made in house. They were about what you’d expect of frozen food dropped in a fryer. They were ok, but just barely. They did have a good beer selection though. Beer choices with ABV and IBU numbers were listed on a chalkboard, which suggests the beers are frequently changing and well curated. George Henry’s is well worth a stop for a beer, but I have my doubts the food is much better than average based on our app sampler. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - EDIT: My response to Todd. I have no issue with simple, traditional pub fare. In fact, I love simple, traditional pub fare. What I have an issue with is crap. And the pub platter is crap. If you don’t want your restaurant judged based on crap, DON’T SELLCRAP. In spite of that I gave the restaurant 3 stars. I was more than fair. My suggestion: take the pub platter off the menu, or, stop selling frozen crap, and make those items fresh, in house. I will return and order a couple of the items you say are made from scratch. I will keep an open mind, and I will be fair. But, the fact that you defend the pub platter as «…the best frozen items you can purchase…», has done nothing to change my opinion in the interim, and I stand by my review.

Service initially was better than food. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our food arrived fast. However, the shrimp in the shrimp po-boy were dry and hard; the burger was closer to well than medium. The molten lava cake was dry, with no molten filling, and lacked the promised ice cream. At this point, the server was nowhere to be seen, until she brought the check.

We were in Lake George for business and wanted to try a local restaurant. The hotel recommended George Henry’s so we gave it a try. We are burger fans so he tried the ½ pound burger with American cheese and I tried the Irish Cheddar Burger. I was a little skeptical because the bar is on the other side of a thin wall but it was a nice little place. The waitress was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food was great, the burgers were juicy and well seasoned. We will definitely be back next year and recommend this restaurant without hesitation!
