This place never disappoints. Generous portions of very well prepared food and nice sized cocktails. Consistently the best prime rib around

Love this restaurant: good service, delicious food, plus interesting local history. Like the way they prepare the prime rib, which is broiled, not like the watery ones I usual see in other places. The juice was delicious. Vegi is fresh and from local. Amber, the owner, was very nice and told some interesting local stories. Will go back next time in town. Frank & Mei.

Love this Adirondack spot. Coming from NYC, this is our«go to» place. Prime rib night is always fantastic. Stuffed loin of cod with crab… delicious. Love the bacon wrapped scallops. Atmosphere is charming, casual and lots of character. Cucumber, cilantro margaritas are wonderfully refreshing.

Came for dinner with my wife after a particularly long week. Although we’ve lived in the area, it was our first visit to Lizzie Keays. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We started out with the steamed clams which were delicious. My wife had the crab meat stuffed portobello and added the shrimp scampi for $ 5 — which she said was very tasty and had a lot of flavor. I ordered the prime rib special and it too delicious. We were very happy with our experience at Lizzy Keays and will be back.

Came here with high expectations because of the high ratings and left with an okay experience. The interior was very cute and homey feeling. The staff were all very friendly and nice. As for the food, it was just okay. For the appetizer I ordered the Steamers which were basically steamed clams with garlic and butter sauce. The clams itself was very fresh and the dish overall was pretty tasty, but a bit on the salty side. For the entrees I ordered the Prime Rib Special with Baked Potato and my boyfriend ordered the Crab Stuffed Shrimp with Baked Potato. FYI each entrée comes with a choice of a soup or salad and a side! The soup special was Clam Chowder and it tasted decent, lots of ingredients, but didn’t really wow me. My prime rib was very tender, but it didn’t taste like much because it didn’t seemed seasoned or prepped in any way. But I do give it to them for cooking it how I liked it. As for my boyfriend’s dish, when I tried a piece it was good, but they didn’t really compliment each other as well as I wished it did. Also the texture of the crab was a bit too wet, maybe too buttery my BF says. For dessert we ordered the Maple Cheesecake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. To be honest, I was very disappointed in the cheesecake. I’m a huge cheesecake fan and I’ve eaten a lot of different ones in New York, and this one was not good.‘First off the texture of the cheesecake was not consistent, it looked like they just stacked flat pieces of cheese together on a crust, and that was it. The taste was not there and the crust was hard, and not good either. We only ate like almost less than half of it. The best part of this dessert was the ice cream. The scoop of french vanilla ice cream was sooooo good! I wished I just ordered the ice cream. Overall it was an okay experience. This place definitely has potential though if they refine their dishes and make some tweaks to it.

The food was delicious. There are choices of local breweries for drink as well as a nice wine selection. The prime rib is very good and the wait staff is very attentive.

We went to Lizzie’s(due to the high Unilocal reviews…) our party of 9; 2 kids and 7 adults had reservations for 6:30. The interior was quaint. I think they were under staffed. The host/owner helped the waitress by getting our beverage and appetizer orders; baked Brie and scallops, both very tasty. The salads were typical, slightly on the small side. Entrees varied in quality, my Chicken Marsala was good. Everyone else that had a pasta dish also stated good. However my son’s lamb chops, cooked med/rare, they were tough and gristly a huge disappointment. All in all okay, wait time way to long-we left the restaurant 2 hours later. Not a very good experience.

My sister and I were visiting Lake George and wanted to go out for dinner. We saw this place not too far away from where we were staying. From entering the restaurant until we left was a very enjoyable evening. The setting is calm, food was not only affordable but also delicious, and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend.

Always personable service and great food. Started with Brie and the garlic bread, great presentation and tasted wonderful. Ordered the prime rib and came perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The Dublin chips were great, full of flavor. Will definitely be back for more!

So glad I found this restaurant through Unilocal otherwise I would have never known it existed and I’ve been visiting the area my whole life! First off, Lizzie’s has a beautiful, warm & romantic interior, with fresh flowers and pumpkins on the tables for fall. Thoroughly enjoyed the house pinot noir, fresh baked bread and that they had oil to dip with and not just butter which is rare to find in Upstate, NY! I ordered the pork dish with sweet potatoes and it came with green beans. Pork was good, but I LOVED the green beans, sweet potatoes and the jam dipping sauce for them. My mother ordered the salmon with rice and the taste I had melted in my mouth. It made us question the way we normally cook salmon and want to recreate it at home. Overall excellent food & experience with great service to boot!

Amazing food, everything was delicious! Very reasonable prices too. The menu has such a variety– soup, stuffed chicken, prime rib, bacon wrapped scallops, pastas… very easy to find something to pick. And you can’t go wrong with any of it! Friendly staff, in an old shirt factory so you get some of the town history.

Visited on 8÷13÷2014 Try and make reservations. We showed up at 745pm, and although there appeared to be open tables available, we were left waiting. A couple of minutes later, two couples showed up with reservations for 8pm and were seated before us. Ample parking in a dirt lot right outside of the restaurant. Cute little spot, comes up fast after you cross the bridge. Very interesting history around the name of the restaurant as well as the old shirt factory still standing on the bank of the river. Inside is cozy and decorated nicely. Lively atmosphere with everyone enjoying their meals and servers shuffling back and forth to the kitchen. It appeared that they may have been short staffed on the night of our visit, as our ‘waitress’ apologized before taking our order as she was the hostess and was still learning the ropes of interacting with the tables. To be honest, we didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, and she was very helpful. Well, aside from the order of steamers that weren’t able to be delivered as she told us after-the-fact that they had run out earlier in the evening. No worries, as the food that came was both delicious and plentiful. But before we get to the food, the bread was very tasty as were the ‘toppings’. The butter was infused with cinnamon/apple and was very creamy. There was also a side of fresh crushed garlic and olive oil. Both paired nicely with the fresh bread. I went for the prime rib, which came with a tangy au jus. The sides were satisfactory, but I was very impressed with the meat. My wife got a pasta dish that was so large she was unable to finish. I had a few bites and it was delicious.

This was the highlight of our stay in Lake George. Wish it was our first meal and not our last. There were so many interesting voices… duck, smoked pork, lamb, to only mention a few. After a week of «over priced tourist» options it was a delight to dine in a casual no rush friendly establishment. This place is not on the main drag so it is easy to overlook. I only discovered it while doing a Unilocal search… thank you Unilocal.Prices and food were a surprise in very best way. I not only would go back I am taking the time to write a review. Speaks volumes in my busy world!

Perfect. Elegance not pretentious. Comfortable like slippers and home cooking like none you’ve ever had! My wife enjoyed Chicken Marsala — amazing. For me, prime rib rare, baked sweet potato fries with raspberry currants(OMG) and fresh green beens. Amazing too!!! Paired with a bottle of Almos Malbec, reasonably priced like the rest of the meal. Make reservations. Save room for desert.

i go to Lake George every year, this is the best meal i have ever had there. Everything is fresh and home made. The warm bread and cinnamon butter is a perfect start. We had crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were the best stuffed mushrooms i have ever had(sorry Grandma). The creamy lemon dill dressing on my salad… i wish i could have gotten a bottle of it to take home. He had the prime rib and it just melted in my mouth. I had the salmon that was also awesome. The service was phenomenal– we wanted for nothing. The most pleasant surprise of the night? the bill!!! a few beers, an app, salads and meals– $ 59!!! Easily worth twice that. I wish we hadn’t come here on the last night of our vacation, i would have liked to go a few more times!!!

I think Lizzy Keays is an especially good restaurant to visit in the summer. For a few extra miles driving through the scenic foothills of the Adirondacks, you can get really delicious food at reasonable prices, without sacrificing on quality or service, without having to deal with the crowds and parking issues in Saratoga or Lake George. The Albany Entertainment book discount first lured me here. That makes it an even better deal. This was my second visit — I bring my mom here because my dad used to work in Warrensburg, and she likes seeing how the village is changing. Last time, she got one of the evening’s specials, which was a rack of baby-back ribs, which were fantastic. Sadly, no ribs special this time. Instead she got a seafood combo for $ 14.95, about which she also raved, especially the shrimp. She also said the sweet potato wedges which she ordered as her side were some of the best she has ever eaten. I started my dinner with a local beer, Bear Naked Ale amber for $ 4 made in Lake George. Warm dinner rolls were accompanied by ramekins of garlic-infused olive oil and cinnamon butter. The soup for the evening, cheddar and broccoli, was thick with lots of bite-sized pieces of fresh broccoli. My salad was romaine lettuce and baby spinach, with tomatoes, cucumber and red onion, and an in-house bleu cheese dressing with an extra-peppery kick. My chicken marsala($ 18) was an entire chicken breast, cut into finger-sized portions, breaded and gently cooked, served in a marsala sauce not quite as sweet as others I’ve tried. It included both fresh button and portobello mushrooms. Underneath, I discovered the serving bowl was deceptively deep with a larger-than-expected amount of linguini. Last time I was here, I got the crab cake appetizer — if I recall correctly, it had little to no filler. This time I opted for dessert. I got the Red Velvet Cheesecake Layer Cake($ 5.95) and made it a la mode for an extra $ 1. This was HUGE. The 2 layers of red velvet cake — each about 2.5″ thick, had a ¾″ thick layer of cheesecake in-between, plus a cream-cheese frosting, plus the ice cream(creamy and full of flavor with no ice crystals), AND whipped cream, AND raspberry drizzle. Even splitting the dessert, there was some left over. The crowd at Lizzy Keays is a mix of tourists and regulars. It was nice to see that the hostess and waitresses knew many of the customers. The fact that locals keep coming back is always a good sign.
