This is a five star diner. Service was excellent, quick on the refills, super nice staff. Décor was awesome, exactly what you would expect from a 24⁄7 diner! *cash only, can get busy* Came here with friends for breakfast are a few days at Shenandoah. It was exactly what we needed. The group got the #4 and the #3. The #4 was huge, tons of food, great price, really enjoyed the home fries, massive pancakes, and solid French toast. The #3 didn’t quite live up to the #4 but it was more manageable. The omelet was solid, overall it was solid.

The place is kind of old so it has a smell. Other than that the food is decent. It reminds me of a homecooked meal. The milkshakes here are soooo good. The food isn’t special, but its an old place. The food is satisfying, especially when you don’t feel like cooking dinner.

Well… it’s a retro diner. If you sit at the counter on the back(and butt) breaking stools, you might get lost in the«diner experience,» but if you’re sitting in a much more comfortable booth, you get a view of the Burger King across the street — pick your poison, as they say. The prices are cheap and the portions are within reason. It’s small and intimate. The service and cleanliness has improved drastically over the years. They were the only 24 hour establishment in Warrenton when I was younger, and to this day, they still have those hours, which is a plus. They only take cash, so be sure to bring some. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are not going to blow your mind, but the nostalgia, convenience, and familiarity make us come back. Side note: use the bathroom before leaving your house.

Diner food. CASHONLY. Cheap prices. Nothing special. I had the pork chops and found them a little disappointing. The wife and kiddo enjoyed their breakfast food even though it was mid-afternoon. I might go back again, but it is not on my to-do list. The service was fine: not over the top, but we were not neglected. Three stars instead of two because the prices were reasonable.

Stopped in Warrenton on the way to the outer banks. Diner was across from hotel and open 24 hours. I got the meatloaf sandwich special with mashed potatoes and gravy. Meatloaf and gravy were homemade and excellent. The potatoes tasted kind of instant. Overall great little diner with good food and friendly service.

Went there with my parents and two sisters. My family had been there three times before and said it was pretty good each time they went. My mom and I order the country fried chicken, my sisters order burgers, and my dad orders the fried chicken, which he had ordered before. My dad’s chicken arrives, and what they tried to pawn off as a half chicken consisted of two tiny thighs, one of which was flat, a tiny wing, and a drumstick which was about 2 ½ inches long. My dad brought this up to the waitress, and she insisted that that was«how it always comes» even when my dad brought up the fact that he has ordered it before. She just kind of shrugged and walked away with his plate. There was no attempt to fix the situation, and she just kind of avoided us except to give a half hearted check up and to give us our bill. I have been a server coming up on three years and I have had enough experience to know that that was no way to handle that situation. The only redeeming quality was the burgers my sisters got. The rest of the food was ok. Won’t be going back.

We came on Saturday morning, fairly crowded, and all tables were busy, so we sat at the counter, and loved it. watching the cook is a treat! Food is good, portions are generous, bacon is crispy, coffee is strong, and the staff is friendly. Country eatin at its best. No frills, just good food.

Great breakfast, the place was packed. Once I sat down, I saw scrapple… oooh yes !! so I got the 2 eggs, scrapple and French toast. Scrapple hit the spot but the French toast was awesome, hot hard not overly done perfect.

A wrinkle-in-time diner. Low prices; pretty good food. The Southern fried chicken – satisfying; fried shrimp – crispy; and crinkle fries – beautiful. They can deep fry food here and, frankly, that’s what I’m looking for from this kind of establishment. Also, the cole slaw and shakes were decent. When hub and I walked in, conversation stopped. The atmosphere returned to normal in a couple of minutes, but I was wonderin’. It was probably helpful that the Nats were playing on the TV, and Scherzer threw his shut-out(Father’s Day). I was only too happy to say that we were from DC then. Obviously this is a local hang-out, and the regulars were just protecting their turf. The more we talked baseball with the citizenry of Warrenton, the more welcomed we felt. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; cash only. Lots of true country and western music plays. Small-town Virginia can be found here.

Awesome experience! If you get to sit at the counter you kinda get a show along with our meal — the chef was pretty amazing to watch — he was one hard workin’ man! Took a little while to get the food but you figure the place is packed on Saturday morning and one person is cooking for everyone in there to order. Wait staff were helpful and attentive. Good value — 3 of us ate for $ 20. Definitely a fun time and a real old-fashioned diner!

The parking lot was only half full on Saturday so we decided to stop in. Kids walked in and grabbed the stools at the counter. Friendly waitress gave us menus and took our drink orders. Total food order was 2 bacon cheeseburgers with fries platters and a french toast with scrambled eggs and 4 bacon strips.(i think it was 4) First. Except for my own burgers, I don’t think I have ever had a better one than at Frost! Absolutely how I like it. My daughter confirmed! I don’t normally eat French toast because it is too much bread. My son had me try his… It melted in my mouth! Seriously. My son even ate the«crust» lol. The girls were constantly moving. Cleaning, serving, comunicating to the cook and the prep team in the back, checking on everyone. Usually, at any other resturant on any given day they are standing around talking to each other. No time here. We saw the cook clean his stove top at least 5 times while we were there. No kidding! Nice! The orders he lined up looked so good. We can’t wait to go back. * Delicious* Thanks Frost!

Great little place that the locals all have known about for a long time. I had driven by for 2 years and never went in. Prices are toward the high end of $ for breakfast but nothing at IHOP is as good as this place. Friendly service, cash only. Hash was real homemade hash. Omelete was good. French fries are store bought. They could probably use better bread for toast. Other than that, its a great local place. I will go back and try it out for lunch sometime. Oh, and its very clean, which sometimes older places have troubles with maintaining.

The food was very good here for breakfast. The portions were large perhaps larger than we needed, and the price was fair. The seating was a bit cramped but the service was fast and pleasant.

They should light this place a bit more – I thought for sure it was closed when I pulled into the parking lot. But it was open, and I’m glad I made the effort. The fried chicken was excellent. Everything on my plate was fresh and served promptly. The Frost Diner is about as old-school as it gets – I liked the décor and the people, but the food has to meet the mark, and on my visit, it certainly did.

Love these old-school diners. Had a fine breakfast here last week. Let’s hope this place sticks around another 50+ years.

No matter how run down the place is you will still enjoy the atmosphere at Frost Diner. It can be hard to get seating if your party is more than 2 people during any normal eating time: breakfast, lunch, dinner. The seats and tables are in bad shape. The restrooms are in worse shape, doors don’t close etc. The jukeboxes that use to be on every booth table are gone :( Cash only, but there is an ATM that will charge you a few dollars to use. The food is plentiful, cheap and what you’d expect from a diner. For all it’s faults this is still a very neat place to visit.

When I see an old time diner shut down, it hurts my heart a little bit. But then you go into one, eat the okay food, and receive the marginal service, and you see that nostalgia can’t keep a place open forever. We were greeted first by the numerous«CASHONLY» signs and then by our double-duty hostess/server. It was lunch time, but there were plenty of tables and we chose a booth at one end. This is no upgraded, hipster diner with a 1960s look but a farm fresh menu. This is a Sysco foods, questionably sanitary right off the road dive diner. I got the Fried Catfish with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. The potatoes and gravy tasted fine, but the beans were cooked to within an inch of their life and most definitely canned. The catfish was crispy and tasty: the saving grace of the meal. The Sweet Tea was downright off and tasted a bit old. My companions fries tasted frozen. Perhaps I ordered the wrong items. Perhaps there are some hidden gems on the menu. Luckily, the price was right for what we got: cheap. As much as I love to go local when I can, I’ll pass this place up for another spot next time.

A group of friends wanted to come here after hiking Old Rag. It’s a typical diner. Nothing special. Quick, greasy food at a low cost. I ordered the 4oz steak tip with scrambled eggs and hash brown, and asked for it to be medium rare, but got a fully cooked beef brisket instead. I didn’t bother telling the waitress since it was such a small piece of steak. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake. That was really good!

An Average diner… bring cash. Went here for lunch today about 1230p. It was busy, sat at the lunch counter and got quick service. Cup O’ Coffe and a menu. Coffee…average. They had a chalk board with several Thursday specials. The Chicken Soup with a chicken patty looked interesting and when I asked Flo if the chicken was white meat she said ” I don’t know honey, it’s chicken and it’s fried”. I opted for the Beef Stew with Peas for $ 6.95. It came out quick and was a nice portion. Nice to see there were some potatoes and a few stray green beans. It was all good.
