Ordered from there and the chicken was under done. Me and my boyfriend got sick from eating here. Plus I’m not sure but I’m pretty positive there’s a massage parlor above it that’ll give an extra finish. I’m not saying all their food is bad considering we only ordered once but I wouldn’t trust it twice.

I like Yen Cheng. I’ve seen it every day for 15 years but never visited. I remember when it burnt down. Its much nicer since. Food is good. Language barrier exists but.order. pay. eat. Ive been here twice and its good. I feel it would better invite me to eat in if the décor was better. but ok. To go it is.

Very typical take-out Chinese food. Lunches are 595 for the combo and dinner is 895 for the combo. Not sure why some reviewer said this was expensive. That’s kind of a joke. Clean but nothing exciting inside. Food is fast hot and fairly tasty without being terrific. Then again it’s Chinese takeout. Had the Kung pow and it was about what you would expect.

I love this restaurant. I have been eating here for years. Everyone who works there is so nice and pleasant, and you feel so welcomed there. I almost always get their beef with mixed vegetables because their sauce is AMAZING. Love Yen Cheng’s so much.

This is possibly the best Chinese takeout food I have had in very long time. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. There are often families with small children and a lot of noise, so if you are looking for ambiance then this is not the place for you.

If you want upscale Chinese restaurant, this is not it. But if you want good food, fast and won’t make you broke… this is it! We have not eaten there but whenever we want take out, we go here. I live at the next county so we pick up dinner here on our way home. They always give us a good amount of the sauce packets(even if we didn’t even ask for them). Since our order is more than a certain amount, they ask us if we want a free fried rice or something… nice touch. Hmmm. I may suggest Chinese food tonight with the hubby… :)

This is yer basic take-out, no-frills restaurant. Food is on par with any take-out that you’ve had in a similar stripmall-ish locale. I would have no issues going there again, but mostly because, for Chinese take-out, there aren’t any better options. There’s a Chinese Buffet down the street — but I found their take-out not so fantastic for the price. Which is why I tried Yen Cheng. If I had any complaint it would be the ‘look and feel’ of the place. They need an interior decorator, or just someone with OCD to deal with the sorry display of chachkies that collect dust to the right of the cash register. These items don’t appear to be marked for sale. Interesting that a ‘don’t touch’ sign was placed there haphazardly. I’d love it if someone would take 30-minutes and pack it in a cardboard box and slap some tape on it — it would be a major improvement to the aesthetics; which, right now, is of the«lazy-don’t care» genre. It’s too bad that, in less than the time it would take to watch«Restaurant Rescue,» you could fix this glaring issue.

My continued quest to experience all the Chinese take out available in Warrenton led me to Yen Cheng today. Same atmosphere as the other take-outs in Warrenton, tight quarters with minimal seating and some home land goodies for sale along with your take-out. The food was freshly made and up to par for what you would expect. Nothing stands out from others, other than the cost. I’ve ordered roughly the same dishes from all the take-outs and this has been the most expensive by far. While there was nothing wrong with any of the food, I’m not sure I’d go back with the cheaper choices available with the same standards of quality.

I always stop here for lunch when passing through Warrenton. Quick, cheap, and really good.

Good lunch with lots of food for $ 5.99 including soda. Very quick service. My kids really liked this place. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

Hairballs on the floor, baby bottles laying around the trash, disorganized, half consumed bottles of soda/nestea/water on every surface, their lobby looks like someone robbed them and they said to hell with cleaning up. The kitchen staff kept coming over to a table picking up food with their bare hands then double dipping without visibly washing their hands afterwards. Silverware just left out next to the trash can, screaming babies, the place looked like a sloppy day care on the inside. Don’t order the spring rolls. Find another Chinese restaurant, their competitors are nearby and much better. China Jade is down the street and has much more respect for themselves and their customers.

Decided to give this place in its new location a shot for some takeout a couple of weeks ago. Had visited the old location once about 15 years ago when we first moved here, & were severely disappointed. Never went back. Phoned in the order for my husband to pick up on his way home from work. Was amazed that it ended up correct, since there were several children screaming bloody murder in the background. I ordered a favorite of mine — «Singapore Rice Noodles»($ 8.95) & specifically asked for«extra spicy»; hubby the«Orange Flavored Chicken»($ 10.95). Also ordered 2 «Vegetarian Spring Rolls»($ 1.50 each), & were pleasantly surprised that our order qualified us for a quart of free soup. Chose«Eggdrop»(normally $ 1.75/pint). Soup was«meh». Okay, but rather bland & nothing special. But to be honest, unless you make your own, that’s pretty much how it is at most Chinese restaurants(outside of the few that add a dash or two of sesame oil, which is always a nice touch). Two packs of crispy noodles accompanied the soup, which was also nice. Usually only one pack is thrown in at most places, regardless of whether one orders a pint or a quart. The Spring Rolls were delightfully crisp & greaseless, but the filling was disappointing. 100% cabbage — absolutely nothing else. Frankly, they should have been called«Cabbage Spring Rolls» instead of «Vegetable Spring Rolls». Again — bland. My Singapore Noodles were nice, but frankly no different & perhaps even just a shade below the one I get from«Top’s China» takeout. So no revelation there. Not bad, just typical. Nothing I’d specifically order again because it was special. Definitely not«extra spicy». In fact, I think Top’s version is a bit spicier without my ever asking for it spicy, & Top’s adds more shrimp.(I’m not even sure there WERE any shrimp in Yen’s dish.) Husband enjoyed his Orange Chicken, which was tasty, if just only very slightly zippy.(I really don’t know why these restaurants bother putting the«hot chili pepper» sign next to some dishes, since nothing is ever even mildly spicy, even if you specifically ask for it.) Prices were more than reasonable, & food was prompt, hot, & ready in a reasonable amount of time as well. So bottom line is that we’ll definitely return to try more dishes, but won’t really be expecting anything more interesting than what one would expect for any basic well-run Chinese takeout joint.
