Love the staff here, very friendly, also very clean, this is the field I’m in, so cleanliness is very important. Just wish they had better deals.

When the young woman behind the counter won’t get off her butt to help me solve a technical problem with the bed I was using — there’s a problem. Spend your money where it’s appreciated. Go elsewhere. I don’t think the management cares much here.

Have been tanning with 2^nd for years. I usually to go to the Johnston location, where the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Have visited this location a handful of times and I’ve yet to come in contact with a friendly staff member. Every time I walk in they’re on their phone and it’s almost as if your bothering them by coming to tan! One night I walked in 20 mins before closing and the girl told me I couldn’t tan because she was already doing her draw, talk about horrible customer service!!!
The salon itself is pretty clean and big so I’ve always been able to get right in a bed.
The location is convenient for me but because I always feel like I’m a burden I won’t return to this particular one.

I have been coming here since they opened many years ago. Usually a few tans a year for special occasions. They have reasonable membership and session prices– all locations have same prices, so it’s not confusing. Very clean at all locations.

Tonight, Second was so busy with a line almost to the door. Ashley was the only one working and I was SO impressed with her professionalism and ability to do so many things at once. She helped customers and got beds ready at a quick pace, but still respected each and every person. She made it her top priority to make sure everyone’s needs were met. She was friendly and courteous even under pressure, and helped me make the best of my tanning experience. I have had experience with other tanning salons with not so friendly staff and have left them to come to Second. All of the girls that work there are great, but this particular experience made me so happy that I chose Second to tan at and will definitely be coming back! Thanks Ashley!

I found this place by word of mouth. It is located in a plaza shared by Gold’s Gym near Route 5 in Warwick. I commented on someone’s lovely tan and she explained it was a spray tan that she got at 2^nd To The Sun.
I know that tanning isn’t healthy but having a tan looks healthy (unless you push the envelope like Magda in «Something About Mary). It’s a paradox of beauty, right?
I really try to be smart about my skin now after over three decades of sun abuse. I don’t judge those who step inside to soak up their share of UV rays in a bed or booth. It’s just not for me. That’s why this whole spray tan thing intrigued me…
The facility is clean. Front desk staff borders on indifferent but they make a half-​hearted attempt at friendly fakery. Good enough for me.
The spray tan is a bit pricey, but I waited for a special and ended up getting a package that ended up costing me ten bucks per session. I can’t comment on the other actual tanning costs since I’ve only hit the spray tan booth here.
They have one private, tastefully decorated DIY spray booth room. There is a looping DVD playing inside the room where you go for your session that explains the steps. You step into a large booth with a little heater (nice touch) and the session begins. You turn in the booth as a machine sprays you according to instructions played on a pre-​recorded loop.
Before starting, you tell the front desk what shade you would like and they set the machine for you. I would start with the light setting if it’s your first time. I personally go for dark now that I know what the results are. The color lasts a good five to six days.
You can wear the items of your choice during your session. If you go with a swim suit or undergarments, choose a dark shade since I think that there is a possibility that the bronzer could stain the clothing.
The results are fantastic. People always ask if I’ve been on vacation after I’ve gone for a session — or assume I’ve gone «for reals» tanning.
I say if you can’t make it to the beach, or don’t want to get the UV exposure, spray tanning here is a great way to fake it — and feel great about the way you look in a sleeveless top!

Yes I tan occasionally and I do not want to judged for it! lol. 2^nd to the sun is everything you look for in a tanning salon. The prices are decent, the place is very very clean and you get a tan! The front desk ladies are nice and will always let you know if there is a special going on. I buy packages that are anywhere from 6 – 10 visits if I am going on vacation, or I feel grossly pasty and I use them over months. They carry over, which is awesome. No need to buy the unlimited monthly one if your like me. I have friends who go here as well and I never have been told a bad thing about it.
