Jo-Ann Fabrics, Porter Ranch California. I purchased a(Husqvarna) Husky Star EM10 Embroidery machine for my daughter(christmas). Marilyn(supervisor) advised it was to be discontinued but, was under warranty. Within a month it went in for service. 3 mos. later it went in again. I was offered an upgrade with purchase price being applied to new machine. My machine was not repairable. I was given replacement machine, Got it home. NO software disc included.. It WILLNOTWORKWITHOUTPROGRAMDISC. Marilyn claims it was in the box. ITWASNOT. I have contacted Husqvarna, they say speak to the«dealer». The«dealer» Marilyn says she can not get another disc but, she might still accept my machine as a down payment for a higher end machine. Jo-Ann Fabric says the sewing center in not a part of their store. Since that time I have read reviews/blogs regarding this issue. People purchased used machines Ebay/Craigslist. The machines will NOT work because the software disc is registered to original owner. This replacement was previously registered. Ultimately I have an embroidery machine that sits in a closet. Jo-Ann(Marilyn) has my $ 500.00. And my daughter has NOTHING. **Side Note** Marilyn told me that Husky Star is a Husqvarna product BUT, it was NOT made in Husqvarna“s factory. This means it has a «good» name with NO backing.

Warning: biased review. I’m a guy in a craft store! While I do have some crafting interests, they usually involve saws and lots of glue. So while my girlfriend was sifting through the fabric to make some pretty cool future craft project, i naturally sat in front of the $ 8499 embroidery machine with the super-wham-o-dyne touch screen interface. I clicked«OK» on the screen because it was CALLINGME to, then a bunch of stuff started happening and the embroidery table started moving all around. I got the DEATHGLARE from the employee working there, then she proceeded to condescendingly explain to me why I shouldn’t calibrate the machine. HEYJO-ANN! If you don’t want people playing with it, TURNITOFF! It’s on display for people to test out, right? Grr. Otherwise the store is okay, it has a bunch of stuff in about every crafting category you could think of — from paper maiche to framing to quilting, sewing, baking, and who knows what else. Best part: Del’s Lemonade truck in the parking lot, but that’s for a different review.

Ok so for a craft store this place is not bad. The staff try really hard to be helpful ! (I just have the same reaction to craft stores as I do to hardware stores… I get sort of tired, bored, anxious and just need to GETOUTASSOONASPOSSIBLE!) As I am recruiting my mother, a craft expert to design a set of roman shades for my home, I had to accompany her to help pick out my fabric and colors. This store, while painful did host some positive features/Items are organized, it is clean and the music is fairly soothing.

The new and improved Jo-Ann! Bright, clean, organized, with a great selection. I love this local and will travel out to this store whenever I am in the area to stock up on supplies. So much more enjoyable than their out of dates stores.
