I found this place on Unilocal so we thought to give it a try. I do enjoy eating at this place. I have been several times now and like any place the service changes depending on who is working. If you go during the week its usually better. I went on a Saturday and the server couldn’t even be bothered with giving me a glass of water with ice. I ordered other drinks too and they came out warm because of the lack of ice. It was also pretty gross because there was tons of things floating in it too. I think a piece of lime skin was on the bottom of my glass. Maybe there was a shortage of ice that day! Trust me — double check your bill too. I like the tacos, the roll up, and the nachos. I can tell you the salad bowl is okay but the shell is terrible. Thinking it must be a store bought box. I will continue to enjoy this place just won’t get the salad bowl and i’ll try to only go during the week days for better service.

Not so good. Got chicken burritos. Supposed to come with chicken. Hardly any. Cheese. Not a trace. Sour cream. None. Way too much rice(to fill it up). DONOTRECOMMEND. If you want a decent burrito, go to Taco Bell! SAD.

I’m so glad we have a genuine Mexican restaurant in little Conimicut, Papi’s Tacos has the tastiest burritos. with quick service and a homey surrounding, you can’t get a better lunch!

Never a bad meal! Good service, friendly & fast. Has been our go to take-out place since moving to the area. Tip: Get the taquitos, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m not so sure what all the hype is about with this place. I would say the food is decent at best. I’ve definitely had much better, more flavorful Mexican food at other places. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of flavor. Also, there was only one person running all the food, taking all the orders and doing all the cleaning while one other person cooked in the back. on a Saturday night. It was ok, but will not be satisfying my Mexican craving here.

This food is pretty regular. Nothing exciting about it. You could make it at home if you wanted. It’s close to my house so I wish it was better. I love Tex mex /Mexican food so my standards for flavor are pretty high.

Food was great! One server was fantastic, the other was on her cell phone the whole time and we could hear her bitching about her personal drama all the way from the kitchen — so minus one star for that. Not a busy place at all, more people should check this place out.

Generally, I am not a mexican food person, I really don’t like it! However, I came accross Papi’s tacos, my husband wanted some and I of course didn’t but I was hungry so I got a chicken buritto. Well, I almost fell over. I couldn’t believe how good it was. The buritto was huge it’s enought for 2 people and it was the freshest food I have ever had. I have been back multiple times since and it’s always so good. Never a bad expierence.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Simple and clean, food was prepared fresh and quickly. Margherita’s are fantastic as well as the fresh chips and salsa. First run through kept it simple and didn’t disappoint. Next time i will be adventurous. Staff is very nice and care.

Been coming here for a while. Wasn’t too impressed at first but I decided to give it another shot. Glad I did. My go to is usually the chicken burrito, but their quesadillas have grown on me. My only qualm with this place is that the service is sometimes awkward.

Okay, right out of the gate: I was VERY impressed with the taste of the food. Having come from Los Angeles, CA, and having Mexican American friends, who typically bring home cooked dishes to work, if not dragging me to the best taco trucks or spots, I can say with some authority that I know a good Mexican meal when I «taste» one. So far, the shortage in lil’ Rhody has not been compensated by the few«Mexican» taco places until this one. It was a Friday night when I went and there was a family enjoying their meal as well. The counter appeared to be busier with take outs. The bar area may not be the best seating spot except if you are in there for a really quick eat and a good margarita or beer. OR, watching a game on the screen with your friends. That’s always fun.(Oh, the bar area is also the takeout order area.) I decided to sit down and experience the service as well. The server seemed more than happy to indulge the questions of a first time visitor as myself and generously offered honest suggestions on whether I was over ordering or not. Ha. I appreciated that. The burritos are huge and delicious! I shared my companion’s fish burritos over and above my Shrimp Fajita plate. I loved the seasoning of my dish. So good that I kept pouring the juice(sauce? spicy, oily goodness?) over the rice. Just the right spice. Perfect with the margaritas. I love that this spot is far away from most eating spots in Providence; it enjoys its West Shore Rd spot in the Conimicut(Warwick) area. However, I also wish this place to be busier as it definitely deserves to be discovered. Make the trip tonight! Tomorrow at lunch if you are in the area. Or change your weekend spot and check Papi’s Tacos. You will not regret it. Well, I didn’t.

Came to this place randomly. Have never had better Mexican food anywhere in RI. If you have the chance to swing by do yourself a favor and do it.

This place is amazing. My friends and I came here for lunch today and it did not disappoint. The man at the counter not only took our order but made it as well. The food was delicious and hot. As we were finishing our food the server brought us a piece of flan on the house! The only thing better than the food was the service. Must try!

Think Taco Bell, but bigger portions and Mexican reality tv. Family of four for under $ 20 is great, but we won’t be back.

First time visitor today. We loved it. The food was very good and was very fresh tasting. Big Papi burrito was great. We left with take out menus and look forward to next time.

We visited Papi’s Tacos because we were hungry and tired, so our moods were warped to begin with. We started the trip by visiting Rocky Point, but discovered we needed to eat before we did the park, so we took the short trip to here. Wow. I was raised in Texas, so I am a critic of Tex Mex food, but his place took that snobby attitude, my crankiness, and turned it into one of the best Tex Mex experiences I have ever had. Go there. We reviewed this location for our travel blog, #ThisIsNewEngland at

I’ll preface this by saying the place was clean, and service was good. The food however, was nothing short of disappointing. This was about a step up from old el paso taco-kit-in-a-box. Salsa and guacamole were without a doubt pre-packaged foods that were not made on site. My quesadilla was okay, but nothing I couldn’t have made better at home(and with fresher ingredients.) Included bagged shredded lettuce, tomato and sour cream. We also ordered chicken fajitas. It included some black beans from a can, some Mexican seasoned instant rice from a box, shredded lettuce from a bag, some diced tomatoes, likely also from a can. The chicken was cooked fine and seasoned with salt and pepper, and cooked with onion and pepper. Nothing to write home about. Two tortillas were included with it, which was enough for about half of the chicken and toppings. Chips were tortillas cut and fried on site, but unseasoned, and had been sitting for a while as a couple were stale. Salsa from a jar on the side. All in all, this is your typical American family’s taco night, just served in a restaurant. Nothing fresh or authentic about it. Even the burrito chains around here have better, fresher ingredients. I’d go elsewhere.

Are you kidding? The food is simply reheated Sysco stuff. It’s really obvious, unless you have never experienced anything other than industrial food(which, given the location of this place, is a strong possibility). Chips and salsa w/guacamole was not good. Chips cold, greasy and unseasoned. Guac and salsa premade crap. The guac had the telltale green glow that indicates powerful preservatives and and a food scientist somewhere tinkering with shelf-stable ingredients. The salsa was bland ketchupy crap, just jar stuff from the chips aisle at the supermarket. Carnitas quesadillas were definitely a disappointment. Very bland. Very light on cheese. Served with three ¼ inch shreds of lettuce, a few tiny cubes of diced tomato, and small preportioned containers of sour cream and«hot sauce.» Some of these reviews indicate this place is making it’s own hot sauce — if so, they should just knock that off. It’s not right. Two stars because the place is clean and the service is friendly. T&A on Univision blasting in the dining room may enhance or degrade your dining experience depending on your stage in life.

A small hole in the wall in Warwick, this place serves up some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. There’s nothing about it, just fresh ingredients and done right. The burritos are $ 5 a few bucks more to make it «gigante» and are overstuffed with ingredients. Tacos, tostadas and nachos accompany a wine, beer and margarita selection and can be enjoyed in the colorful, spacious dining area. They are happy to make vegan options available by axing the cheese and sour cream on request and they use corn oil vegans are safe. Ozzie is a friendly and funny guy and the prices can’t be beat. It’s a definite safe bet in the area for great Mexican.

Go here now. Good, nay, great food. Traditional Mexican street food. 100% affordable. Better than Poco Loco(sorry guys). Best taquitos I’ve ever had. Tacos; hard or soft… yum. Those folks who gave this place only one or two stars, perhaps the don’t understand what Real Mexican food should be? I’d recommend they check out a place called«Taco Bell», there’s one in nearly every town. As for Papi’s– i can’t wait to go back and have a few beers with my taquitos…
