They get bonus points for late delivery, a half hour later than the other Chinese menus I found in my hotel lobby. But the food? Well, honestly I’ve had better. The Egg Foo Young was sitting in a pool of grease I had to pour out of the container. The ratio of egg to pork was way out of kilter– the pork cubes were few and far between. All in all, this dish was a disappointment. On the other hand, the steamed dumplings were pretty good, Next time? Well there won’t be a next time for me…

Warwick doesn’t have a lot of food delivery options for anything so its always worth trying when you find a place that does. I found this place here on Unilocal and the reviews made it seem like a good option… Boy was I offing wrong. Just to order I had to talk to two different people because the woman who answered the phone I couldn’t understand at all, she handed the phone over quickly so I’m guessing this is a common problem. Typically you expect accents when you order from Chinese, Indian and other ethnic food joints but the person taking orders is not the person with the thickest accent. I should have cancelled my order soon as it got to my address– I gave it to them 3 times, spelled it out and then had to correct it twice more. More then 20 minutes later I was called again to double check my address I spelled it out again and corrected them again and spelled it out again. 10 minutes later I was called AGAIN to double check my address. 30 minutes later still no food, I called and was told my food was on its way. Less then 10 minutes later it was there, over an hour after I called. The Delivery Guy changed my fee from $ 18.36 to $ 20.36 likely thinking he wasn’t getting a good tip at this point. That little move cost him his tip. Food was luke warm by the time it was at my house. Two Stars instead of 1 because the food was decent.

I used to live off Tongs when I lived in the J&W dorms. The deLivery girl was constantly outside. I’m glad to say that after 12 years it’s still my favorite Chinese in RI. The portions are ridiculously huge, and it’s incredibly cheap. I love the General chicken and I always get the House Special Low Mein, very saucy and flavorful. The House Special wonton soup is my secret hang over cure too.

In the mood for some Chinese food. Ordered Kung pao chicken and I was expecting fried chicken. It came with way too much celery. The crab ragoon tasted terrible and fake. Only good side was that it was cheap. Wouldn’t go here again though.

So we’ve been ordering from this place for about 10 years and it’s always good. We’ve tried other, more«gourmet» Chinese in the area but we always come back to Tong. It’s just what you expect with take-out Chinese. In fact, I got pretty complacent about it. I didn’t really appreciate how good it was. That is, until I started eating Chinese at my in-laws now and then. They order from a place in Burrillville and Tong is way better. Also, we recently had company from Michigan who were jonesing for good Chinese. Apparently they can’t find it in Ann Arbor. We ordered from Tong’s and they loved it. Bottom line — I don’t think you can do better for take out Chinese than Tong. The food is consistently good. Whether you pick up or choose delivery, the service will be good and wait times accurate.

Didn’t even know they were there until we got a menu in the mail, and I live around the corner! What a find though. The General’s chicken is great, best boneless spareribs in the city, and dumplings are good, just a tiny doughy. So happy to have finally found a great Chinese restaurant that delivers!

No longer a buffet but as always, consistently delish. Wedged in a tiny strip mall behind the Shaw’s and Dollar Tree, for the many, many years I’ve been ordering from them, their food has always remained the same good quality takeout. I’ve literally been eating their chicken fingers, wontons and fried rice since I was in high school: and Lord knows, I’ll be a’pushin into the 30’s soon enough. There’s a special, super appealing something in their food that constantly keeps me going back when I’m at my parents place or in the general area. I’d like to convince myself it’s their freshly put together stir-fries and crisp veggies that entice me to pick up the phone but ultimately I’m sure it’s drugs. The menu selections are pretty standard and at first glance, most people would probably shrug it off but BAM. their chicken is like a crisp, tender, golden brown Mercedes Benz running me over on I-95. Hit and run baby. Their wonton soup is totally tastacular with a smooth, flavourful broth and big strips of pork while their hot and spicy wontons regardless of the 10lbs they added to my hips, are finger lickin good(literally). The owners are friendly and always gives service with a smile and delivery is always prompt. A few times we’ve ordered on a Friday night they gave us a one and a half hour estimated wait only to show up 30 minutes later. Overall, sure they do the same dishes, but they do them well and they do them clean. I’ve never found hair, bugs or any other questionable matter in my veggies nor have I ever been served a sloppy, greasy mess. Everything on their menu is always cooked well, to order and high quality. Def a go if you’re in the general area for pick up or delivery. Strangely, for a long time they refused to deliver to my parents neighborhood but apparently in the last six or so years that’s changed. Lucky!
