The Center for Green Urbanism is a rare gem. Part art gallery, part business«incubator», the only of its kind in Ward 7, they are all about being friends with the environment — recycling, using those curly light bulbs, solar energy, etc. The Center also lends it’s space for art happenings, performances, anything creative and inspiring. Their art space, the Tubman-Mahan gallery(named after abolitionist Harriet Tubman and Professor Dennis Mahan), is clean and open with nice dark hardwood floors and several sunlit windows, and equipped with a cool, modern hanging system. No nailing holes in the walls here. They also have a full kitchen for folks looking to host a tasting. There are several offices upstairs and ample, sunny conference room space for meetings or presentations. It’s easy to Metro to Minnesota Avenue and walk a few blocks, but there’s also plenty of parking in the back. I look forward to visiting again soon. This place has such a warm, welcoming vibe.
