This is an excellent space in the heart of Washington DC for bands to rehearse. The practice room rates are reasonable and the staff is very professional and friendly. It’s a great place for private practice, or for new or established bands to set up regular rehearsals. Because many DC bands also practice there, it’s also a great place to meet other musicians and to learn about the DC area music scene. I would give it more stars if I could!

7DL is the best. My band has been practicing there for over a year, and we’ve had nothing but absolutely awesome experiences. All of the available spaces and studios sound great and have top of the line equipment, and the staff that works there is great. On top of it all, Miles, the owner, does an amazing job of promoting and supporting the local music scenes. We’ve met and become friends with a lot of great bands and musicians through our association with 7 Drum Lessons.

I go there to rehearse with my Band, it’s really awesome to know that they service music because they love it. We are very happy that there is a location where we can practice and so are our neighbors. It’s super cool that they lend equipment witch save us a lot of time and energy. They are really accommodating to maximize the satisfaction of our rehearsal sessions. Again thanks for participating in helping DC local musicians, bands and music scene flourish.

I used 7DL studio for an unconventional usage. I rented space there to have a photoshoot. If you do want to use their space for anything unconventional shoot them an email. They were a little startled when my group arrived, but helpful, welcoming and accommodating. I loved the ease with which we were able to reserve space online. I think the accessible, rentable music space is a great asset to the community.

I’ve been taking lessons with Miles since January 2011(just over 6 months). I came to him with absolutely zero drumming experience, having never sat behind a drum kit before, yet within a month I was playing basic beats. For a beginner, he provides a nice mix of rudiments and beat progressions so that you can work at improving sticking fundamentals while still keeping you focused on the fact that you are learning to play music. Also, being a DC resident, I especially like Miles’ location right off of H St NE. If you are looking to take lessons in the District, I cannot recommend Miles highly enough.
