Albert C Hillman Barber Shop

After moving to DC from LA I struggled finding a decent barber. Every shop I visited had barbers who were unprofessional; checking their phone every two minutes, eating while cutting your hair, leaving their chairs for an indeterminate amount of time, taking over hour an hour per head (for simple cuts); and over priced for the subpar haircuts they delivered. Here there is a communal atmosphere, so you still get the barber shop feel, but a level of professionalism that I haven’t seen anywhere else in the city. Great cut, standard price. Needless to say I found my new guy shop. Go to Karan for a fresh cut.

This was the friendliest shop ihave ever visited. I took my grandson there because i noticed kids in there. After three years of being tortured by barbers, Twin the barber made his experience a joy. He did not cry, flinch, or anything. He was patient and caring and the other barbers chimed in to make my grandson feel like a «big boy». And ladies, in a shop with all guys, i was treated with the utmost respect. The friendly atmosphere would surely lure you in. They were about to close when i came in but they toom us in and gave superior service without rushing us out. I see them and wave and they ask about my grandson who i take about every two weeks and i REFUSE to take bim any place else.

I have never had a problem with any of my haircuts. My Cuts have been stellar. Visit my man in the first chair. In regards to the preceding review. I don’t know who cut his hair, but one barber doesn’t make a shop. I also noticed his ethnicity and hair type. Though all trained barbers should be able to cut all types of hair, the reality is due to demographics and clientele barbers may not have the same amount experience cutting all hairtypes. That is why I don’t go to Hair Cuttery or any of the «unisex» salons to get my hair cut. Otherwise, I assure you that they all would be getting bad reviews from me. I can’t get a «skin-​tight fade» at Hair Cuttery… So do they suck? PS. Nice Chimpanzee reference…

I went looking for a simple haircut at a reasonable price and found neither. A blind chimpanzee wielding a chainsaw could have done a better job. I hope this review can save somebody, anybody, the horrific experience that I endured there.
