I just love this place. Drinks are always tasty and strong how I like them! Food is always great too. My fav is the truffle chicken wrap. Been coming here for years. Very nice ambiance. Cute and modern.

They’ll make you a mean dirty martini. Tends to attract a very transient crowd(it’s in a hotel). But very nice. Love to come here for after work drinks. Pretty decent happy hour and snacks. Service can be a little robotic but I’m sure it’s just because they’re busy.

Not the first place I’d choose to get a drink in DuPont circle, but if you’re staying at the Hotel DuPont, it’s an ideal place to start as it’s central and had large windows facing the street and DuPont Cirlce. Each time I passed it while in the hotel lobby, it was quite crowded and roaring with conversation, laughter, and the clinking of cups. When I finally went to get a drink, I waited at the bar for a few minutes, and then once I got my drink, I waited a few more minutes for a seat. There’s not an excessive ammount of seating, or standing room, but once you settle in, you’ll enjoy having a drink here… And they serve an assortment or bar nuts and treats

My boyfriend and I had a great time here. You can never go wrong with prosecco, appetizers, and 75degree weather. Cozy outdoor patio

I have probably been here well over a dozen times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. The bar is located centrally in DC near the north Dupont metro entrance which is great because there is a lot of foot traffic and I enjoy people watching. I recommend getting here early otherwise the seating fills up quick. Aside from the bar the interior is mostly lounge seating, much of which faces the heart of Dupont Circle — only separated by a long, tall wall of glass. Happy hour is a great way to sample some of their interesting cocktails which otherwise are a bit pricey. What I love about this place are the free nut trays(wasabi peas, corn nuts, peanuts). Service can be slow due to only a handful of servers walking around taking orders, that and the pricing is the only reason I wouldn’t give this venue 5 stars.

It’s about time to write a review about my favorite hang out spot. Bar DuPont has a fantastic location. Right on DuPont circle. It has this beautiful outdoor patio where you can sit, have a drink, munching on the complimentary mixed nuts and watch people, or use their complimentary wifi and do some work! Very relaxing atmosphere. Even the inside is beautiful and classy! And always crowded. I wouldn’t recommend you to eat here. The food is horrible! I’ve tried few times to order and twice it was so bad to the point I had to return the food. Just stick with drinks… Anyway the atmosphere there makes you drink even more. Service, don’t expect good service! Again servers here are the slowest servers I’ve ever seen. You barely catch their attention… Most of the time they even disappear. You always have to ask that you need this and that… Even the check it takes them forever to get it. Few of them are very friendly but still slow, yeah very slow! I’m giving 3.5 star only because I enjoy my time here despite the bad service and the food. Location saved them big time! They ve got the best corner in DuPont circle

I stayed at Hotel DuPont and came here after a night out. I was told the bar closed at 3AM by reception but at 1:50 they refused to serve on a Saturday night. Bartenders just wanted to go home. I understand. Don’t tell people you are open until 3 when you really aren’t. My girlfriend asked for a glass of water and she was given warm water with no ice. Afterwards, the bartender gave drinks to the people next to us. Thank you OMAR you are now on Unilocal for a horrible review. PS day time bartenders were extremely nice. That’s why I give this the minimum of 1 star.

The ambiance is wonderful. Staff very very professional we love the bartender Omar. If you sit at the bar you will be given a combination of wasabi nuts, chex mix and peanuts yummy. The bar has liquor, wine, beer in different variations a little bit for everyone. Always come back.

Full disclosure: I’ve never been here past 8PM. That being said, the perhaps-too-dimly-lit interior has always been a great environment for an after-work drink or date. A substantial amount of seating is available outside for the after work crowd to soak up what’s left of the sun in or people watch, and pitchers of sweet, boozy concoctions flow freely. Service is a little slow, but the drink menu is pretty extensive and is home to some uncommon but delicious treats like the New York Sour, a red wine and whiskey cocktail that’s as pleasant to look at as it is to drink. Beer selections are pretty standard for the area, with at least one rotating choice and several local(DC/MD) brews, snacks are salty and savory, desserts are rich and luxurious. Comfortable and classy, it’s aesthetically designed for the somewhat younger and cleaner-cut crowd. Bar DuPont doesn’t push any boundaries and wouldn’t feel out of place in any big city, but is well-located for the experience it aims to deliver. The bar area never gets so loud that you find yourself shouting across the table which is always a plus. Altogether, a great place to go if you aren’t in a rush. It doesn’t break any new ground, but why fix something when the formula works?

Bar DuPont was absolutely terrible. I would never come back here again. First of all, the bartenders are horrible. They blatantly just won’t serve you, just because, why do your job? I came 7 minutes before happy hour was ending for a final drink. They stood there wiping things down and talking to one another while I was clearly trying to get their attention. They finally took my order with 2 minutes left and specifically told them I was trying to make HH. Two glasses of wine should be quick, right? Nope. The bartender went back to talk to his friend for a minute, poured my drink, then stood at the computer monitor for like 60 seconds slowly«entering» my order. He then comes back to me with my card and says«sorry HH is over.» Like… it was the most deliberately rude act I’ve ever experienced from a bartender. To make matters even worse, once I got outside, my server lied about what the happy hour prices. When we asked her about the discrepancy on our bill, she got defensive and was like«fine just don’t tip me.» Like… why try and guilt us for your mistake? Of course were going to tip you, we’re not rude people. The waitress also brought us the wrong check, offered to split our check for us and then double charged us across checks thinking, again, that we wouldn’t notice. Overall it was a really frustrating experience. Their drinks are wayyyy overpriced to begin with, so if I’m going to overpay for alcohol and mediocre food, I will not be doing it here. It’s not worth the bullshit.

This is your typical Fancy DC Politics bar. They attract a higher end clientele in DuPont circle ranging from Hill workers to their late night friends: coughprostitutescough: there’s some good people watching here to say the least. Drinks are pricy and just okay. Dessert is to die for if you’re in the mood. Would go back if my company is picking up the tab again. Otherwise there are way too many bars in DuPont to choose from with better prices.

A friend and I came here for happy hour and were not disappointed: excellent mojitos, excellent service and a breezy-chic atmosphere. It’s an interesting mix of tourists, Washingtonians– dressed up and down. The location is terrific(right on the Circle) and the design makes it welcoming, hip, young, and sophisticated. Since this is my neighborhood, I will definitely become a regular.

Bar Dupont is my go to favorite among the Dupont Circle bars. It has a sleek 1960’s vibe inside and abundant seating everywhere. It’s the perfect place to linger over drinks and catch up with old friends. The scene isn’t as cramped and happening as some other places in the area(though it has it’s moments) but just hip enough. The drinks are great and there are seasonal options, like warm alcoholic drinks in winter. One of the best things is the wasabi peas and corn nuts that you get when you order drinks. They are just as delicious and addictive as other reviewers have said. The food isn’t spectacular though tolerable enough, but there are better places to eat in the area so don’t waste your money on that here. Alcohol in all it’s glory is the name of the game and they do it well.

Having worked in Dupont Circle for 3 now I’ve been to Bar Dupont for happy hours and special events at least 100 times cumulatively. This is the best outdoor spot for happy hour in the area in my opinion. There is ample seating and the service outside is pretty good. I also love the free corn nuts/wasabi peas/nuts you get at the bar. Yummy! All in all, its a solid place for happy hour and special events but the biggest downfall in my opinion is that the bartenders treat me as if they don’t know me. I like going to places I frequent because I get to know the staff and vice versa. The bartenders at this place act like they don’t know you even though they do which is just really strange in my opinion.

By now, I feel like I have been to Bar Dupont 50+ times… here’s why I keep coming back: There is just something special about Bar Dupont and every detail of the space itself is on point. The patio is amongst the best in the city and is outfitted with heat lamps and couches to enjoy when the weather is nice. If it’s raining, go inside and have a seat next to a panoramic window facing dupont circle. WOW! But how are the drinks? They are great. When I come to Bar Dupont with friends and want to spend the afternoon lounging outside, nothing will be as satisfying as their Rasberry Tea, which is a combination of Raspberry Vodka, Fresh Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup and Iced Tea. A pitcher costs $ 45 and by the time the sun starts setting you will have ordered 4… they are that good. If you come to Bar Dupont on a date or with a client – I know, this place is surprisingly versatile – you’ll probably end up drinking something more conservative, and the martini’s and rye based drinks are out of this world as well. The food will surprise you too. What’s interesting is that the food at Bar Dupont is surprisingly affordable given how hip and well built out the restaurant is… also being a hotel bar. They serve food on a limited menu till 1am Thursday through Saturday, which means it makes the cut for some of the best late-night eats in Dupont Circle. I’ve ordered their Truffled Chicken Wrap($ 13) quite a few times after 10pm. Great patio, excellent service, delicious-reasonably priced food and a killer location make this a spot you will definitely frequent!

Poutine here is pretty epic when you come in to break a fast. My friend looked at me very suspiciously as I was downing a dish he didn’t think was from this planet. He was«very hungry» but ended up getting 2 drinks and no food. Wtf? I don’t understand people anymore. Waiters here are very friendly but wtf when 5 of them including the manager come to take our orders. While on the one hand they did seem overly attentive to take care of us(perks of dressing in hobo chic in an suited up place), you wonder if it’s really necessary that each one of them follows up on you ordering a glass of water. I know we look like VIP’s but hey sometimes even we need a low key night ^_^

Considering this is a hotel bar, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It was also convenient for us since we were staying at the hotel(I recommend the hotel as well). It was easy for us to kill some time and have a cocktail before we headed out for the night. The bar was consistently busy, but not a nightmare to be in. On average, there seemed to be one person for every seat in the place. Music was eclectic but sometimes leaned towards fist-pumpy. It didn’t suit the mixed crowd very well. Decent selection of beers on tap and food at the bar was pretty good, too.

Top shelf bar, variety of seating and atmospheres with friends to friends to be in a very warm and often bustling place. A few exotics like Cardhu and rough Rider, and the bartenders can make a Sazerac well. Yea!!!

If you’re planning on going out for mixed drinks, make sure to order directly from the bartender and not the servers. There’s a great bartender with blonde hair that makes some awesome drinks and gives you just a tad bit more for your money. Nice, modern bar. Music isn’t the greatest, it seems like they play the same background music ok repeat. But very convenient location, especially for hotel guests. Although there seems to be a big group of locals during the weekend.
