Best beef & broccoli hands down. It’s always the dingy looking places with the best food. Big china is the only place I have found that serves great beef & broccoli. Right amount of meat veggie & the sauce SOGOOD. It can be heavy on grease at times but I mean this is a carry out. One thing that’s a tad annoying is they charge you 50¢ if you’re using card & the purchase is under 10.

I ordered by delivery today and had to throw all of the food out. I ordered chicken wings and shrimp fried rice. The chicken tasted like they cooked it the other day and threw it back in the grease today. The rice didn’t even have the shrimp in it and was kinda gummy. The whole plate had an overall bad smell like they may use old oil to cook the food. I will not place another order with this restaurant.

Ok Since I am an original Washingtonian I will have to speak on BIGCHINA… I have never been un-satisfied leaving this place, yes it may be a health hazard, yes the neighborhood folks come in and bother besides that it is a place to go after a night on the town! I remember being a kid and my Father taking my sister and I there, we used to always get a fish sandwich… Although I would not EVER recommend this as a everyday type of place to go being that it is pretty FAT to eat this everyday… I go every once in a while maybe once a year to be honest… I have their number in my phone so when I come into town and I’m looking for carry-out food Big China is the place to call and go!!! the CASHONLY policy gets on my nerves… I wish they would change it and that’s why I cant give them 5 stars! HA! and I’m out, Ghost…

I went to Big China, one of at least three local Chinese places in the south Brookland /Edgewood /north Eckington area, last night, just to see what they were like, test them out. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be going back. Clearly, the vast bulk of their clientele order their American food: subs, chicken wings, shrimp, other fried sundries, etc. They also seemed surly about it and resentful, based on their interactions with the other customers. I, however, ordered straight Chinese food. Schezuan beef, shredded chicken, two spring rolls to push me above the $ 15 credit card limit. Food was VERY long in preparing, but
