Bike and Roll DC

This was our first Segway tour. We found it on Groupon and thought it would be a great way to see the city and it was! Our guides Matt and Joe were rock stars. It was very cold and extremely rainy the day of our tour. As it progressed the temperature continued to drop and it rained even harder. They gave our group the option of re-​scheduling, but it wasn’t too bad out when we started. It eventually was so cold, Matt even gave his gloves to a woman to wear for the duration of the tour. He continually asked if we were ok and said we could bail at any time as there were two guides, so one could go back. While we were frozen to say the least, we were so glad we stuck it out because we got to see most highlights of the national mall without walking the entire thing and Matt had interesting information to share at the stops. It also helped us plan for the remainder of our trip for what we wanted to see more of. Thank you Matt and Joe for an awesome experience despite mother nature’s attempt to freeze us. We will definitely check out other bike and roll Segway tours in the next city we visit!

This was my first Segway tour — and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical before. You always see Segway-​ers around and I’ve always been a bit judgey. But I am a fan now.
My friend had a Groupon and really wanted to do this when I was in town, and so, I was game. The tour we chose was 2 ½ — 30 minutes for preparation and learning how to ride a Segway (our group was small and so this went by pretty quickly). Then we were ready to roll through most of the sights in the National Mall area.
I think the biggest sell is that you get to be on the ground (more so than the «Hop on, Hop off» buses but you’re going faster (5 – 15 mph) and are able to cover a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time. Our group had Quilla, who was both enthusiastic about providing interesting information about the expected sights but also provided random bits of information like where certain shows and movies were filmed, which I appreciated. :)
Make sure to wear comfortable, closed toe shoes, and keep in mind that you are standing for a few hours so if you have back issues, the length of the tour is something to be considered. They do provide a bottle of water but I would treat it like as if you were going to be walking around — have water, wear sunscreen/​wear a hat, and maybe have snacks.
All in all, a great first experience and like I said, I am now a Segway tour convert. :)

This was so much fun! Who knew riding a Segway was so easy and delightful? Our guide Michael was friendly, informative, and easily taught us to ride a Segway-​if I can do it anyone can. I would highly recommend doing this tour whether a local like me or a visitor to DC. The whole experience was smooth, professional, and efficient. PS-​I believe one must be 16 or older to ride a Segway, the only reason this isn’t good for younger kids.

It was my first time renting a bike here in DC, and I purchased a $ 20 all day pass Groupon deal at this location. Note, it wasn’t my first choice, as those bike shares are cheaper. It’s a brilliant idea to save time on walking and a quick way to sight see several historic monuments and visit museums. The bike is in good condition and has different high and low speeds. It comes with a numbered lock and a pouch in front of the bike. These bikes were more expensive than those red bike shares, but at least you don’t have to check in every 30 minutes.

What a fantastic way to see our nations Capitol! We were so lucky to have Self proclaimed nerd, Aaron as our guide! Aaron was so knowledgeable and patient with our group, sharing and taking time to answer all of our questions! We were able to see so much in a short period of time without feeling rushed. It was perfect for our short trip! I definetely recommend this tour for all ages and fitness levels! We had a variety of participants including some young kids! Thank you Aaron, and Bike and Roll for such a memorable experience! Now off to lunch at a restaurant recommend by Aaron!

Renting from this group made our trip to DC outstanding!
We happened upon the rental station on our way to the Metro and decided to try it. It was so great that we extended to four days. The bikes made it easy and fast to get from our hotel in Chinatown to the Mall and all the Memorials, including Jefferson. We used them every day and loved the ease and speed of travel they provided. I’ve always used the Metro and walking before; this was even better.
Staff were very helpful and kind. We had a sticky lock at one point and called for help. They were able to help us on the phone so no time was lost.
The next time I travel to DC, I will rent from them. Reasonable cost and quicker than the metro and walking.
