From 5 stars to 2 stars. They closed shop for a couple months for unknown reasons. Now that they have reopened everything is inconsistent. Be careful and mention what specials they have advertised. If you don’t they will up-charge. Their $ 7 butter chicken carry out special cost me $ 10.75. Meat portions are smaller, bread sometimes ok sometimes a bit stale and sometimes they don’t give you any. I will not be returning which is too bad because they have all the elements to be a successful carry out place with tasty food. I’d be willing to pay $ 10-$ 13 for a carry out meal if it included fresh meat, salad, rice and bread. It’s just not that difficult.

I picked up food from here yesterday. I was excited that there was an Indian place a stone’s throw away from my new place here in DC, but damn was I disappointed. The Biryani had gone bad(to the point that it was smelling), and the dal was super bad too. After this point, I just couldn’t convince myself to eat the other items I had ordered. I’m super disappointed, because I had asked the guy if the food was fresh, and he had replied in the affirmative. This place is actually in a basement under a dive bar, and doesn’t really look or feel like restaurant. When I walked in, there was a guy at the bar, watching TV, and I watched a couple of sleepy looking guys walk in and out of what I assumed was the kitchen. This, put together with the fact that there was not a single customer around the typically busy weekend lunchtime, should’ve given me the hint. Well, I dint bother with calling back for a refund — the 40 dollars I spent have made me wiser. Never again.
