The nicest people run the best food cart in Washington DC! Forget those overpriced, hipster food trucks! Head over to the Bulgogi truck(also reviewed as Korean Food Truck on another Unilocal page) and fill yourself up with some delicious Korean food. Ive come to love Bibimbap in the last year, and this place kills it. You get SOMUCHFOOD for like $ 9, and the veggies taste so fresh and crisp. Ive gotten the spicy pork, which is indeed spicy, and the bulgogi, also delicious. Definitely my new favorite lunch spot on K street!

This is a simple cart located on K street between 14th and 15th streets. The cart has more in common with a traditional street vendor than the mega-bus mobile restaurants over by Farragut, but don’t let that scare you away. They make very simple food that is prepared perfectly from a limited menu at a reasonable price. While I have had the other menu items as well, the standout item is in its name — the bulgogi. It is prepared fresh over the course of the day, so there is no «standing» bulgogi that has been under a heat lamp for hours. It is suitably fatty and tender, unlike many of the Steak-Um substitutes that are called bulgogi at certain other area restaurants. It is seasoned perfectly, and served on top of a bed of white rice. My only warning is on the kimchi. The medium-spice kimchi should probably be the starting point for most American audiences(it is traditional cabbage-based kimchi). The«hot» kimchi was a bit overkill for my palate(make sure you get a second drink if going this route), and the white kimchi was essentially just a cabbage salad.

It was delicious and reasonable price. But it was not as good as it should be compared to what I have eaten in other Korean restaurants but i understand that it is a food truck on the street. fair enough and they are very kind. The address on what Unilocal map says is not correct but it is around.

Amazingly perfect. So full of flavor. I want to have it again for dinner.

I got a small bulgogi lunch with medium spicy salad while in DC yesterday, and it was the best $ 6 I’ve ever spent. The beef was succulent, while the rice perfectly soaks up its flavorful juices, and the salad is a wonderful complement by adding some crunch and a hint of tartness and heat. Small was plenty of food but my mouth did wish I got the large instead. And the large would only be $ 8 compared to close to $ 10 at other Korean food trucks several blocks away. I found the cart on K street between 14th and 15th so it does seem to move ever so slightly. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t see it right away. Walk around that block and you’ll find it by the line of people, because the truck is not flashy at all — the focus is all about the food here.

So delicious and at $ 8 for a full tray of food it’s cheap too. I got the lunch special for tuesday which was rice curry served with meat and your choice of «salad» ranging from spicy kimichi to mild cabbage. If you work in the area I highly recommend dropping by for lunch. NOTE: I found it on K street between 15th and 14th so don’t be discouraged if you don’t find it at first, take a stroll around the block. It’s worth it.

I spotted the husband and wife tandem on K street in between 14th and 15th. Not at the intersection of L and 14 as what Unilocal says. I got the special because they ran out of bulgogi and spicy pork. I went today at around 1 pm. the special is fish jeon with one of the meats on the menu. I choice spicy chicken and spicy kimchi on the side. Kimchi was sour. For fermentation of the cabbage. Exactly like homemade kimchi. Chicken is juicy tender and they’re cut in cubes. Fish Jeon looks like steamed fish pancakes. The fish is coated well and soft. No fishy smell. I really like the special and I’m dying to try the spicy pork and bulgogi next time.

This place is delicious! I often miss Korean food after spending two weeks in South Korea on vacation. This stand always hits the spot. I love their dumplings, always grilled fresh when you arrive. The Monday special is good, haven’t tried the other specials yet. The bulgogi is very well flavored and a generous portion. They also offer reasonably priced drinks. The couple that works the stand are very friendly and polite. If I’m ever having a bad day, this is my comfort food pick me up. Highly recommend them!

Best lunch in DC. The bulgogi, dumplings, kimchee, all great. Lovely couple who run the cart and make all the food. Bargain aside, the food is excellent. Doesn’t hurt that they’re right in front of my building, but I’d make the trek for them. Correction on address: on the sidewalk, north side of K Street between 14th and Vermont.

I’ve been going here for almost 8 years. The folks that run this kart are amazingly friendly and sweet, and the food comes in insanely generous portions. It is delicious and gets you through a cold winter day with their generous serving of spicy kimchi. If you need a fast & big meal, this is the place.

SUPER tender beef bulgogi. Excellent flavored kimchi. Skip the cabbage side unless you can’t take a bit of spice in the kimchi. Super nice people.

I had Bulgogi Cart in front of Union Station on a Thursday. The bulgogi was mildly marinated, I thought it could have more flavor considering how delicious bulgogi can be. The salad was wilted and kimchi surprisingly scarce. I did appreciate that the meat was tender however.

This cart is amazing and worth the wait. I usually eat here at least once a week, sometimes up to three. It helps that it’s directly in front of my building. I love their bulgogi and almost always get it with either the bibimbap or the daily special. If you’re getting the bimbimbap and are a Kimchi fan, you can request additional Kimchi for free! The wait can get up to 10 minutes or so after 12, but if you’re craving Korean look no further.

I went to 1400 L St NW during my lunch break, but I could not find the cart. :(Can one of you guys help me? I am the big fan of bulgogi and kimchee!

I love this cart! I probably eat lunch here 3 days out of the week. I love everything: their bibimbop and bulgolgi and daily specials. And the couple is so nice! Their prices are really reasonable as well. If you are in the area around lunch time, I would highly recommend that you try it!

I eat from their cart at least once a week — and have done so for years, even when they were located on L and 14th back in 2008 – 9. You can get a huge meal that tastes great for $ 7: bulgogi, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, spicy pork, or a combination, with sides of kimchi and salad. Unlike many other carts in town, they offer friendly faces, quick service, reasonable prices, and no one gets ill.

Great meal for $ 7 — bulgogi, kimchi, noodles and rice. The lines can get long and they sell out early(sometimes as early as 1p). A super sweet couple and great food. They are closer to 14th and K than 14th and L.

I’ve always wanted to go here but they have a very short window of being open. This is understandable since they are in a cart on the sidewalk. Also, just a note, they are no longer on L and 14th but on K and Vermont. Not too far off but don’t look for the cart where the Unilocal address had it listed. Anyway, for $ 7, which includes the tax and the great and fast service, this place is really good. Is it great? I don’t think so, but good enough to come back multiple times, absolutely.

I don’t always eat Korean food, but when I do, I prefer Bulgogi Cart. Seriously, I would push an old lady with a walker into traffic and drown two panda bears to have this place moved to Crystal City near where I work. Ok, maybe I wouldn’t be that extreme. One panda. But you get the point. The food is absolutely ridiculous. Huge portions, good kimchi, and a drink to boot for about $ 9. Cannot beat it. And really nice employees. Love it. Miss it. Someone get me a panda.

Great bulgogi cart in DC with decent quality food at an affordable price. Also, the people working are always friendly which makes me come back again and again. They always load you up with lots of meat whether you get bulgogi or pork. I’ve never finished one of their lunches and ended up hungry. I wouldn’t say it’s the best Korean food that i’ve ever had, but for a cart, it’s pretty damn good. They offer kimchi and lettuce as sides dishes in addition to your meat or rice. I think the kimchi could be improved but it’s still decent. I’ll definitely be back.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic korean food ever, but I would say it’s pretty decent. I got the Bibimbap with Bulgogi. For the positives: I might have gotten lucky, but the egg was nice and runny, which I always love. I’m not sure if this is a normal thing for this truck since this was my first time eating there, but I appreciated this. The vegetables had a nice texture, tender but still holding a slight crunch to them. The combination of everything together made a pretty well-seasoned dish. For the negatives: My biggest complaint was that the bulgogi was a little bit too sweet by itself, so I had to be careful not to get too much meat in a single bite. I would say that is a pretty serious statement since I’m Vietnamese and I’m used to eating pretty sweet foods at home. The rice wasn’t very good, but it is coming from a food truck and I’m pretty picky about rice textures so I guess it was forgivable. The iceberg lettuce was not really necessary and, for me, was a downgrade for the dish. My girlfriend said she noted something in the menu description about a dressed salad of some kind? I didn’t see that and I didn’t taste anything other than bland iceberg, so I just picked it out. I would ask for no lettuce if you share my same hatred for iceberg unless you want to sit there picking it out. I would give this 3.5 stars for the fact that it was probably one of the cheapest things I’ve eaten in DC and it’s pretty good for the price.

In terms of authenticity(and heat), this place beats the K street korean bulgogi cart.(It’s also a $ 1 more at $ 8, but whose counting?) However, I think the other cart has the to-go portion down a bit better, both in packaging and ease of eating. For one, there is no way to balance the carton in the plastic bag without spilling a ton of hot sauce out the side. Two, some of my greens were so tough and knotted that I couldn’t eat them. Three, these guys only give you a fork(better to have 2 utensils to mix). If you want your super, bottom-of-the-jar kimchi though, this is the place to go.(kimchee here: ) All in all, I’m stoked that there are two similar carts close to each other(in order to see who has a longer line) for relatively affordable and authentic-ish lunch.
