Husband got a burger, I got the arugula salad with chicken. Everything was delicious! But … Place was empty and my water glass was never full… Plus my salad was 15 bucks and his burger was 14. This was lunch! I think I’ll save my money next time and go to sweet green for a bigger salad and cheaper check.

Really bad service. Never bothered to order food. Sat at the bar. Slow and inattentive. Could have been an off night, it is new years day.

Very long bar area. This whole place is huge and they have outdoor seating too. Menu is more along the deli fare. Decently priced. Several beers on tap. And the metro station is only a block away. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which is one of their healthier options. Very nice. Love how the buffalo sauces just oozes every where.

Family was treated like rock stars. Food was great and staff was fantastic, and even the kids menu was plentiful(yeah I took a few bites). Thanks! We will be back on our next visit.

Best BLT!!! Tons of bacon and great fries. My sister had the tuna melt which she said is just like our momma makes. Great food!

Our office went to Bullfeathers for an intern’s a go-away party. Bullfeathers overcharged us for the majority of the items on the menu and when we brought it up to the manager she was abruptly rude instead of accommodating even though she had to adjust the ticket. Then, when she gave us the check with the correct prices she left the 20% gratuity the same as before — which should have changed because the total changed. Our PREGNANT director approached her about this in which case the flustered manager insisted we were just trying to «screw the waitress.» When our director insisted this was a matter of simple math she finally adjusted the gratuity. In all seriousness, given that we are an entire office within an agency only 1 metro stop away, you guys lost a lot of business.

This little bar is quietly tucked away near the Hill. I came here for a birthday brunch of one of my friends. I was a wee bit skeptical about this place bc I heard little buzz about this being a good brunch spot(like Cava or Red Rocks) When I arrived my friends and I were basically the only ones there, aside from a couple outside and two guys at the bar. I didn’t want to let the practically empty restaurant be the judgement of my experience. We looked over the brunch menu which had both brunch and lunch options. I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich with brunch potatoes. I will say, the food was great but the service was less than average. Our server forgot drink orders, didn’t check on us consistently, forgot to give me my brunch potatoes after waiting for over ten minutes. The restaurant wasn’t busy so I was confused by the delay. My entire party loved the food just expected better service.

BEST… BLT…EVER! My husband and I were referred to this place by a Capitol police officer. I walked in craving a BLT and WOW… was it delicious! Thick cut crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes, crisp iceberg lettuce, and just the perfect amount of mayo layered between 2 toasted, thick-cut sourdough bread slices. We also ordered a smothered eggplant sandwich that came with caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, roasted red bell peppers, & provolone cheese. SODELICIOUS! Great food, Friendly staff, great service, & clean bathrooms. We were very pleased with our experience.

I came close to closing and there was still a cool vibe. Seems like the food is good and cheap. Drinks are reasonably priced. Nice outside eating area.

The bar here is great and the service is awesome! Always a great after work spot. Today I had the Alice pasta and it was amazing. Not too heavy like so many paras can be. The white wine sauce was delicious and the veggies were fresh and tasted amazing. I haven’t tried the milkshakes yet but I have heard they are to die for!

I am so glad we stopped here. A love a place full of history. I got the Pastrami burger and I highly recommend it. Huge, but so good I ate the whole thing. My daughter said the wings were good and she loved the bacon and pancake milkshake. I tried it and didn’t like it; but she loved it!

This restaurant is pretty good. I enjoyed my meal, the service was quick and efficient, and the people were friendly in general. I ordered a Chicken Reuben sandwich. It comes with potato salad. The Chicken Reuben was okay, and uses a whole chicken breast instead of the standard beef. I enjoyed the potato salad. It is a good place to grab a bite.

4 of us visiting the Capitol stopped in here for business lunch couple weeks back the day that whackadoodle flew his gyocopter onto the lawn. Gorgeous young lady«Kame» was our Server. She made great eye contact, knew the menu, was on top of her game. I had the 2 sliders. great menu item. We each had a beer, thought both the service and food was great. Be prepared to wait at lunch for a table. not too many choices that way.

Ha! This establishment must be a sick joke… I arrived at Bullfeathers, went up to the hostess stand to be seated and stood around looking ridiculous for a good 5 minutes until we were even greeted. Finally, after being seated the waiter asks us for our drink order. Comes back with only ONE glass of water. Was the water for 2 people to share? A bit confused. That’s when we had enough, considering we waited for about 15 minutes with no interaction with any staff member to take our order. So Bullfeathers is basically Bullshit. Thanks for making your nations Capitol be known for having the worst restaurant service ever!!!

This is a great place to experience the atmosphere that(mostly) the government staff goes to. The food is great, they have a vast menu and great drinks, waiters are great as well, casual place that welcomes everyone. Check their signature dishes, this place is full of history !

This barely deserves three stars based on the food but the waitress and hostess were great for our table of six at the peak of the lunch time hustle… Three pieces of corned beef for a st paddys day«special» is hardly worth $ 12 but the burgers looked good from what my party members suggested. The ample old wood bar with e v e r y kind of beer ive ever heard of was impressive as were the low costs of the shots(i mean it was st paddys day when we went!!!) But then the chicken fingers were small and perhaps stale(uggggh) Yet our waitress and the host were both attentive prompt and gracious… next time burgers only!

came in with my parents for brunch before touring the national mall. $ 5 mimosas(amazing) the music selection was on point. Not a lot of people here so we got the bartenders undivided attention the whole time. My corned beef hash was a little dry(hence the missing 5th star) but my parents got an omelette and French toast and they basically licked their plates clean. Definitely a awesome brunch spot

My husband and I had a great time drinking beers and mingling with the locals here on a Friday night. We arrived around 9:00pm and watched the crowd thicken quickly over the next hour. The selection of draft beers is decent, and they have some great craft choices. The prices are sky high for beers.(At least compared to down here in Houston) For example a round of two draft beers,(One Shiner and one Goosehead island) was $ 16 before tip. DANG!!! I know it’s DC and all but wow, that’s like double and then some what we would pay for the same exact round. Regardless of the prices, it was a blast. and we stayed for a long time. Longer than we should have really, thanks to the convenient little thing called Metro that ensures you don’t have to drive to get back to the hotel. The menu looked good, but we had just eaten. Lots of wood in the décor, and the tiny tiles that make up the floor were very cool. Great vibe, packed bar side, tiny but clean restrooms. Overall a nice place. Cool patio, but it was covered in ice and snow during our visit so we didn’t get to experience it. Great to know for the spring however.

First and foremost, this gem is all about the location. After work on the Hill, this place is a great pit stop before turning in for the evening. It’s down the street from Capitol South and there are a couple other places to eat if you just want to come here for drinks. They do serve food, but considering the location you can bet it’s on the pricey side without being anything special. There’s plenty of room on the inside with at least one tv, I sat outside and only went in to make my order. That being said, the outside seating is great for people watching and the inside keeps you warm. This is only three star worthy because there’s nothing that really sticks out, other than the location. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say that this particular bar is a staple on the Hill.

3.75 stars. I came here the other week night after an open bar happy hour at my state society reception in the Rayburn building. Needless to say, my friends and I did about two hours of pre-gaming before showing up around 8. Bullfeathers is a fairly simple establishment. They cover the basics of a sports bar with the occasional pricey entrée you would get at a fine dining establishment. Don’t get me wrong, this place is well kept and nice on the inside and outside patio, but there is no reason for them to be charging $ 18 for an entrée. It just isn’t that kind of place. Period. My friend Ashley and her boyfriend ended up going towards their fine dining menu whereas my friend Suzanna and I split a simple cheese pizza. She and I were more than satisfied because that’s honestly all we felt we needed in addition to our beers we got. It was good… for what I can remember… Greasy food and alcoholic beverages always work hand in hand, right? Service was on point. She was kind and didn’t really miss anything and separated the checks without complaint. All was well. After spending two hours there, my friend and I Über taxied home and our night concluded. Bullfeathers is good for after work drinks if you work on the Hill. Highly recommended for you folks. Believe me there were plenty of suits in that place more so than casual patrons.
