This review is all about the crab cakes. On a recent trip to DC, I had them twice, and they are simply superb. So how do I know? Because between the two visits, we spent four days on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and had crab cakes every day at all of the recommended restaurants along the Chesapeake Bay. None of them was as good as the ones at the Café Lombardi. Not even close. In addition, I completely agree with some of the other reviewers about the location. It is a charming room, full of sunshine at lunch. The service was very attentive and helpful, and because of the relatively small size of the room, it felt like an intimate French café rather than barn like hotel restaurant. I highly recommend Café Lombardi, and if you go and have the crab cakes, you will be very happy.

Impeccable service and amazing food. I can’t get over how amazing this place is. I came here for brunch on a crisp Sunday morning after trying to go to Founding Farmers down the street but they had a one hour wait. So I decided to walk up the street to Hotel Lombardy and my mind was blown. The ambiance is great, very French countryside café style. The food will knock your socks off too. We had the French toast and Lombardy breakfast.

Had the arugula salad, which was great and actually very large, and the salmon main, which was delicious. The server was very nice and attentive but not over bearing. Small, quite, quaint place. Overall 5 stars.

Hubby and I had breakfast during a recent stay at the Hotel Lombardy. I was very impressed! Charming, quiet room, attentive service, and excellent food! Delicious, well prepared and HOT! I had the outstanding french toast and DH had an omelet. Both very good. Coffee was fresh, strong and good! We were both so happy we decided to eat at the Hotel. Will definitely recommend for breakfast. However, our dinner experience was quite different… another review.

Very Small place but great for a meeting. Crab cake was good, not the best I’ve had, but good. Service was friendly and attentive. We went at lunch and there was still plenty of room. If you are worried, the do take reservations.

Pretty good restaurant by hotel standards. As a local, I have taken out-of-town friends to this place even though it is a «hotel restaurant.» Their shrimp is great. We also hosted a catered dinner in one of their beautiful private dining rooms. Quiet. Fast and courteous service. Wine included. Reasonable price(package). The private room even has its own closet which came in handy for puffy winter coats.

I have been going here for years. The service is amazing and the food is great. Small restaurant, attention to detail. Love it and highly recommend.

They have a wonderful service. The waiters are very polite. I had the almond french toast with sausage and cranberry juice, was very tasty. My fiancé had the eggs Benedict with spinach and also was very good.

I didn’t even know this place was there — but a coworker & I had put off going to lunch forever and she suggested it. I’m glad she did. A quaintly intimate dining room in bright colors made it feel like spring had already arrived. The food was good. I had the chicken«stuffed» with mozzarella. It wasn’t stuffed. The chicken just kind of sat on melted mozzarella. It was still very good, though. I was less impressed with very slow service and not being presented with a wine list. All in all, a nice lunch spot.

My wife and I enjoyed a great breakfast at this lovely classic DC hotel restaurant. My eggs benedict were perfectly prepared. Service was also above average.

Met a friend for lunch at the Lombardy Café. I must have walked by here a zillion times without ever noticing it. The room was pretty and light filled and the menu interesting. I need to try Lombardy again. My gazpacho was perfectly fine but not outstnding and the Caesar salad was bland to boring. My friend was very happy with the crab cake salad.
