I’ve never been there but I tried to go there today. It’s closed. A guy standing nearby says it hasn’t been open for over a month.

Awesome lunch spot. I’ve had both the hot sandwiches and the bibimbap. The steak and cheese sandwich special is my favorite. Good fries as well — normally I don’t do steak fries, but they do it right. With the bibimbap, the best part is that they will cook a fresh fried egg with it — like it’s supposed to be done! Staff is very friendly. Will have to try breakfast sometime.

They got my order wrong. I asked for non-spicy ramen. They gave me a bowl of molten magma hot enough to melt the eyebrows off my face. At least the Korean beef rice bowl(bibimbap) was really good and so was my breakfast sausage sandwich.

I got the daily special, which was a bacon egg n cheese and a small coffee for $ 3.50. It was pretty good, standard, not bad really.

Love the(beef) bimbimbap. Great place for lunch but get there early if you want to sit in the dining area.

I work in a building close to this delightful little spot and I’ve really grown to love the careful, kind service and the generous portions of delicious food. There’s a $ 3.52(once tax is included) breakfast special that includes an egg/cheese/meat sandwich and a cup of coffee, which is a really good deal for the area. Certainly cheaper than McDonald’s or Dunkin’ Donuts. For lunch, I had the reuben special once, which was very good. I would definitely like to return and try the Korean dishes.

Meh, I’ve had better. I think Axian Food Factory deserves 2.5 stars(I’ll round up to 3), since the food was tasty enough, but the portions are small and it can be PRICEY. I ordered the beef donburi and for a little bit of beef(they skimped on the meat) and some egg over rice, I paid almost $ 9. That’s quite a bit for something I could easily make at home. I think their portions need to be bigger. This place is also sort of hard to spot from the outside, since there’s no clear sign and you sort of have to go down stairs to a basement to get there. It’s another food option in Farragut, but I recommend visiting elsewhere. I think the only thing that may be worth the price is the soup(that’s what I would order if I were to visit again).

Quick, easy, cheap, fresh and tasty. The girl who served me was very helpful and engaging. She recommended the daily special which was a bulgogi steak and cheese and fries or a salad for around $ 7. The bulgogi was tender and the french roll it was served on was really good as well. I work nearby so I suspect that I’ll be visiting quite often.

Had to update this since expanding beyond the omelette to the lunch menu: bibimbap and donburi. In short, it’s pretty incredible for a Foggy Bottom lunch spot. This is quick and convenient Korean/Japanese comfort food at its best. Generous portions and juicy, deliciously marinated meat(spicy pork is the best). The Axian bibimbap destroys ‘Rice Bar’(the worst) in all categories — flavor, portion, quality. Also, the folks working here are the nicest people you’ll come across. I saw a few comments saying the bibimbap is not authentic because its not served in a clay pot, blah blah blah. GETREAL. It’s an $ 8 bibimbap lunch very generously portioned and geared towards the work crowd in Foggy Bottom. Korean food isn’t cheap and you’re comparing this to a sit-down $$$ place in annandale, va. Show me an ‘authentic’ clay pot bibimbap in DC that is less than $ 11 – 12, not to mention in Foggy Bottom.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to try any of the Asian dishes at Axian, but I did enjoy my breakfast here very much. Great price, super clean, lots of breakfast options and just about the sweetest people you will ever meet. Service went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. You must try Axian Food Factory if you’re in DC!

After discovering Axian on a cold rainy day and delighting in its filling, rich noodle soup, I have returned a good half dozen times now and cannot keep myself from getting the same delightful dish over and over again – occasionally with different proteins. The soup’s flavorful broth, plentiful ramen noodles, sufficient meat quantity, odd/not-necessarily-belonging hard-boiled egg, and overall balance are enough to completely satisfy a ravenous diner or leave another meal’s worth of leftovers for an individual of average apetite. Axian also offers a full menu of sandwiches and breakfast. Both look great but I have yet to pop in for anything but The Soup. I just wish they had more than one type(hint, hint!)!

I got a bagel and coffee here, so I can’t speak about Axian’s lunch time items. One note on this place, though, is that the lady at the register was extremely nice. She pleasantly made conversation while waiting for my transaction to go through, and graciously let me get a large coffee although she had only rung me up for a small. I really appreciate the customer service I experienced at Axian. Best of luck to them as they try to grow their customer base.

I must say that this place’s highly overrated. The Bibimbap here’s way too hyped. It’s not very authentic, small portion & somewhat expensive($ 8sh). It’s like the Chipotle of Bibimbap; where all the ingredients’re put in little bins and you just choose what you want in your bowl. If you’ve never tried a Bibimbap, then you might like it. However, if you’ve tried the real deal, you’re gonna want a refund lol.

The Koreans through many generations of trial and error that bibimbap is best served in a clay pot served with a raw or sunny side up egg. The egg mixes into the rice which helps add some texture to the dish. I guess for carryout and quick service, the bibimbap would be considered very good, but I was not a fan of the boiled egg and the portion size wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. I guess I was a little underwhelmed by my experience. Then again, I may just be biased against all Asian fusion places.

— Small but very clean and neat place. — Great service. Very friend and efficient and so accommodating. — Spinach melt wrap: I asked to make mine with french bread. Bread was soft and fresh. All ingredients blended amazingly well. I really liked it. — The fillings were substantial compared to other nearby restaurants or sandwich shops. Highly recommend!!!

Happiness! This would be a regular on my lunch circuit if I worked remotely close to this cute little downstairs joint. The place is underground and marked by a small sign, so keep your eyes peeled. We arrived around 12:15/30pm. The limited seating was full save two counter stools. Patrons were still trickling in. And the spicy pork container, the spicy pork I’d heard so much about and had come for… was empty! Empty! What a disappointment. But alas, after the sweet guy behind the counter overheard me telling my husband I’d have to get something else and we were in the middle of pondering what that might be, the cook ran out from the back and apologized for having no more, telling me she’d need to make some. I asked how long. 10 minutes. I asked my hubby if we could wait(he knew he didn’t realllly have a choice.) So 10 minutes later, while still serving others in line, they packed up our bibimbop and waved us over from the stools where we sat sipping soda. It was delicious. Packed with tasty veggies and served with your choice of sauce, this bowl of goodness really hit the spot. The hubby loved the pickled veggies while I inhaled the steamed broccoli.(I hear they have black rice that I really wanted to try but because they packed it up for us with our fresh order of spicy pork, I didn’t get to specify rice.) We had a LivingSocial deal or Groupon or something along those lines, which included two meals, two fries, and two soft drinks, so we tried two of their three types of fries: one, a thick-cut steak fry that isn’t normally by type(in fact, I ordered the sweet potato fries, but this is what came out and the line was building up, so I kept mum) but they were very good. The spiral-cut fries were my favorite, particularly the crispy parts doused in sugar. We wound up paying about $ 1.40 in tax; pretty good for a coupon deal. The staff were all super friendly and the food good. Sadly, though understandably, they are only open weekdays.

Yakisoba. Chicken Wings. Philly Steak & Cheese. ALLSOYUMMY. I wish I could give this place more stars. My mom has been bringing food from Axian home for several months now and I’ve just had the chance to try it for myself last week. The chicken wings are coated in crispy sweet, garlicky goodness, even better than my favorite Asian Zing wings from BWW. The yakisoba is flavorful and filled with healthy toppings. The Korean BBQ bulgogi adds a wonderful twist to the Philly steak & cheese. In the past I have not been a fan of Asian fusion foods as I prefer a more authentic taste, but Axian has got it right with the subtle variations in their menu items. I wish they had a location in College Park. With these prices and hungry college students like me, this place would thrive.

I went here because of a living social deal, and thought it was excellent. They have a bibimbop station, but I was a little overwhelmed by the choices and got a spicy noodle soup instead. It was absolutely delicious. In fact, I dare say it was the best noodle I have had so far in the DC area, even better than Toki Underground. They also hand out generous portions — I was only able to finish half of my soup even though I was starving! The staff is really friendly and the chef wields his knives impressively and seems to know the moves. The ingredients were fresh and diverse. With the living social coupon it was only $ 6 for a large, delicious soup and a grape soda. They also serve various sandwiches. I saw some of the staff preparing some philly cheesesteaks which I usually don’t like but they looked really well-prepared and delicious. I might have to try one sometime. I wasn’t sure what to expect here since I hadn’t heard of it and it is somewhat hidden and difficult to find. I was pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend this place.
