I actually do like the food at this chain, however I’ve had frequent issues with this location getting my order wrong. It’s getting a bit frustrating. I can understand having problems occasionally if you’re very busy. However, that does not seem to be the case here. I’ve ordered online, when its busy and when it’s crowded and I’ve experienced the same issues from this location. Do my advice is that if you’re ordering anything to go that you check it before you leave. Also say yes to wanting the receipt because it appears the issue is both in their kitchen and from their cashiers.

Why go here? The food is disgusting and there are so many other choices in the area. I am pretty sure that every item on the food menu has sugar in it. I recommend going elsewhere, anywhere.

Loved the Chicken Pomodori! I had it with one of their straw/banana smoothies. Couldn’t have been happier!

Always surprised at negative reviews for a place like CB that somehow compare it to a fine dining experience — all the food here is solid and well prepared — and the overall look of the restaurant I think is a step above similar restaurants in the high end quick serve category The Swiss Oatmeal always a winner in my book — and love the cinnamon raisin crisp that accompanies it! Good place for a quick breakfast or lunch — and I found the wait staff very friendly and helpful!

So Corner Bakery has pancakes!!! This was a game changer for me, I normally don’t think of Corner Bakery to exercise the rule of thumb, making it a place to enjoy my first meal of the day. But remarkably enough these 4 delicious pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon was really good. My only concern was that they could’ve been hotter, I ate in the restaurant just to appreciate hot food, it didn’t turn out that way. Although I could’ve ask for an associate to heat them up, I figured I’d be back and my second round should be hotter with the bacon not too well done.

Great location from me because when I’m running late to work I can still stop in and grab that cup of coffee and be done in 2 minutes… I always go for the hazlenut brew which is slightly sweet and does not need alot of sugar so its a WINWIN! Their pancakes are AMAZING — which ofcoarse sounds bizarre since this is more of a café than a breakfast eatery but I dont know how they make their pancakes, they are the right kind of fluffy and yummy. Since the paninis are pretty sinful when it comes to calories I mostly stick to their salads which do not disappoint because of the variety they have.

Unfortunately, even though I’ve visited this location twice, I’ve experienced very poor service both times. The counter staff has appeared short tempered and easily annoyed by the simplest of questions. In one instance, I approached the front counter and asked for a napkin, as I was not given one when my food was delivered. However, my napkin request was met with an annoyed sigh and a gesture pointing vaguely in the direction of a self-serve area I was previously unaware of. As for the facility’s food, I was served undercooked pancakes, overcooked crisp bread, and poorly made eggs. I actually visited the location a second time only out of convenience. I’m giving the restaurant two, versus one star because the single baked good I have ordered, a cinnamon crumb muffin, was actually very tasty. I would order that item again. In the end, as long as I am stopping by for a baked item, and not relying on the staff for customer service and hot, made to order dishes, I would possibly visit again to purchase their baked goods.

I came to this location recently to try out their Spicy Asian Pork Hot Sandwich, which is a toasted French roll filled with shredded fire-roasted pork, sliced cucumbers, spicy slaw, pickled jalapenos, and cilantro with spicy Asian barbecue sauce. It was surprisingly pretty decent! I really liked the bread they used and there was a good amount of pork. Also, the sauce was tasty as well. Service was pretty quick even during the busy lunch hour. My most favorite cookie to get here is the Monster Cookie — it’s huge and loaded with chocolate chips inside and covered with mini M&Ms on the outside… full of yummy chocolatey goodness!

It’s a fantastic location, very close to Farragut West, World Bank etc. Loved the Panini thins, a low calorie breakfast sandwich with egg, avocados and spinach. I do have to say that despite being a slow period, only a few people in the restaurant it took some time for the order to be taken and the food to arrive. I wasn’t worried as much by the food because I was engrossed in conversation when my sandwich came to the table. My theory is that this location does a lot is catering and that could be the reason for small delays in order taking. Good place to meet on a Friday morning.

Very friendly greeting, music wasn’t too loud which made for easy conversation and friendly staff gave me a free cookie :)

This is one of my favorite places overall for lunch but this location is very slow preparing food orders, no organization at the registers, and today makes the third time that I have ordered online and they didn’t have my order in the system. When I order from the one in Arlington, I don’t have these problems. What’s the use of having online ordering if it nevers works. Since this is the closest one to my office, I love coming here but you got to better at this location.

This location was really mediocre. The salad wasn’t as fresh as the other location 4 blocks away on L street. It was also really hard to get a seat that was cleaned. Most of the tables were still dirty from people who sat there previously, and it was incredibly difficult to get the attention of an employee to come and help clean/wipe the table. Next time I’ll walk the extra distance to go to the other locations in DC.

3 stars — and the food is really the reason why. Gosh, it took forever to get our food. My husband and I stopped into this location yesterday for breakfast and were in a bit of a hurry — I don’t expect super fast service but was surprised when it took 15 minutes between ordering and the food arriving. I ordered the Chilled Swiss Oatmeal — a dish that I love. It’s always incredibly filling, and I love their perfect combination of oats, yogurt, and dried fruits/raisins. It also comes with a side of raisin bread but I rarely eat it because the bowl is so filling. My husband ordered the Aneheim scramble without bacon. It was a good portion of well-cooked eggs, tomato, onion, and avocado with a side of potatoes. He said it was very good and filling. So, if nothing else, both of us got hearty breakfasts, although, it just took longer than I expected to get our food considering the place was nearly empty. I’d return if I had more time.

Place is nice but gets too crowded with people not being able to walk conformably through the halls. Chairs bumping into each other. No the greatest experience.

Ok, so Imma be fair and say the positives first. The place was clean and empty(which isn’t a good thing at 9:15am in the heart of downtown DC)…oh and the young ladies working there were really nice. Now the real deal: I go into to order a BBLT, which is a BLT but with extra Corner Bakery bacon that they pile on the sandwich. You’re thinking umm umm good right… wrong! First off the sandwich was 7.99, which is totally absurd! 8 bucks for one sandwich is criminal but I went ahead and paid for it because I was craving a BLT and the billboard advertisement outside of the metro looked really good. So I pay my money and I wait… and wait… and wait… and wait… and wait some more. Remember I said the place was empty, so why did it take so long for me to get my food?! One of the managers yelled to the cooks, «is that BBLT done yet?» at least 3 times and then another employee asked, «What’s up with order #45?» which of course was my order. FINALY I get my sandwich and the same manager who repeatedly asked about my food gave me my bag and she didn’t even apologize for the wait, which I thought would have been a good gesture. I look in my bag and the sandwich looked unimpressive and the cheese I had added wasn’t melted or anything. As I type this review I am eating the sandwich and it tastes as unimpressive as it looked. I will never go back to Corner Bakery again. especially not that location. And to think, I just stared a new job where one of my duties is to manage the catering for our corporate breakfast and lunch meetings, tsk tsk tsk… no bueno!

I’m a huge fan of the Corner Bakery chain, but this location is sub-par. It’s much smaller in size with only 3 cash registers. My take-out order took much too long. I’m going to stay with the location on L and 19th.

I’ve had great breakfast and great lunch. The Anaheim Scrambler is excellent for breakfast and is substantial enough to keep you full. For lunch I’ve focused more on the soup and salad combo — the Tomato Basil soup is EXCELLENT as well as the Santa Fe Chicken Ranch salad — and the portions are a great size!

I’ve been stupid enough to come here 3 times and each experience was worse than the last. I really don’t even want to draft this review because it makes me mad just thinkimg about my experience. Long story short — when the workers don’t know how to do something, none of the other employees will help them. The last time I was here, I ordered a half dozen bagels and cream cheese. The woman who took my order asked the guy in the back for some when he replied, «We don’t have any back here. It’s in the back and I ain’t gettin it!». That paired with the new girl taking my order that nobody would help, it took 25 mintutes to get my order! Let me repeat — 25MINUTESFOR A HALFDOZENBAGELSANDCREAMCHEESE!!! I may be dumb, but not dumb enough to return for the 4th time.

The food is great — when they get it right. I am allergic to tomatoes and when I order their Smoked Ham & Swiss Panini, I ask for no tomatoes. Every time, I end up getting it with tomatoes, which I promptly scrape off with a kettle chip. Also, occasionally(maybe 3 times in the last 15 times I’ve gone) they bring the wrong food or forget the order altogether and myself or someone with me is stuck waiting for the right food to come or any food to come at all. Despite these minor difficulties, I still enjoy Corner Bakery and will keep going as it’s a great break from ROTI or Breadline. For lunch, I suggest trying: The Smoked Ham & Swiss Panini, Pasta Carbanara, or the Asian Wonton Salad.
