Chop’t is a great place to grab a huge custom-made salad. They have pretty much everything and the real challenge is to make up your mind by the time you have to order. The line can be long at lunch, but it moves along very quickly. It is a salad factory with plenty of staff working very efficiently. I’m partial to the cobb salad — their seasonal salads are great too. It can be a bit pricey, but eating the entire salad should satisfy the hungriest of patrons. They have limited indoor and outdoor seating.

This place stresses me out! There is time to plan your order while waiting in line by grabbing a menu on the way in. But when you get to a salad station the fixer wants your order FAST. As soon as you say one ingredient he is saying«next» and if you don’t say them quickly enough he decides you’re done. Argh! So stressful. Anyway, arugula is extra but at least they have it. Half a hard boiled egg is included in the 4 free ingredients so you can, in fact, get some protein if you don’t want to spend an extra $ 3 on 3 bites of meat. The Mexican goddess dressing was too hot for me. I don’t know what’s in the Asian one(and it’s one of the most caloric dressings at 150 cals) but it’s yummy. Oh and the«bread» is kind of gross. It’s cool how it’s flat and it fits inside the top of the salad container, but it’s more like a pancake. I’m still not quite sure what a grain bowl entails(aside from the special ones listed on the paper me menu). Maybe someday I’ll be brave enough to order one.

Wanted something healthier for lunch and came across Chop’t. Basically an assembly line salad place, similar to sweetgreen, where you can choose your own ingredients or one of their pre-determined menu items. I got one of their monthly special plates, which looked like not a lot of food but was beyond filling — I couldn’t finish and I’m still feeling full 5 hours later.(It was a kale blend, sweet potato and brussel sprouts combo, and quinoa). The dressing was spicy, so be aware if you’re sensitive to heat levels. I went with what was recommended but wished they had warned me of this.

Used to be good. This place used to be my favorite place to have a great salad. The menus are fantastic, the ingredients are amazing. So what’s the problem? The employees who work there. They have become lazy and uncaring. The people who actually make your salads don’t care about your salad. They’re just mindless robots who are wishing they were someplace else. For example, I just ordered one of my favorites, chicken tinga, the guy didn’t even offer to chop my salad! Isn’t this place called Chopt? I was talking to the person next to me and therefore did not notice until it was too late. Now I have HUGE pieces of uncut lettuce and a whole freakin avocado half in my salad bowl. Common guys! Please train your employees to care about the salads they are making for customers. There is too much competition now.

This Chop’t location is a very busy location during peak lunch hours, but you can get through in under 10 minutes because of the system they have set up. If you go at other times during the day, it’s much more quiet but there are still some customers there. The people working at Chop’t are very nice and accommodating — from the people making and chopping your salad to the cashiers to the managers. The food does taste like that from other Chop’t locations but the people here seem extra nice relative to other locations. I typically get the same thing every time I come here, which is the Kale Chicken Caesar salad(under $ 10) with caesar dressing. It’s actually quite filling and there’s a lot of it. Of the salad chains in the DC area, I think Chop’t is the best and this location is certainly one of its best locations.

I love Chop’t, the salads are perfection, the topping choices are fresh and endless, and I absolutely love the spa dressings. Since Chop’t is a chain, the rating is more about the store itself. If you haven’t been to a Chop’t, then you truly need to — and this location is a great one to try for a first. This store is smack dab in government personnel central, which means M-F from 11:45AM-12:45PM it is a mad house. This past visit there were 35 people in front of me. Fortunately, the manager knows the importance of time and the limited lunch break most have and he has perfected a system that makes a 35 person line take less than 10 min. And considering not everyone buys a pre-established salad(oh, Lord I was behind one of those asking the difference between romaine lettuce and the mesclun blend… and taking a solid minute to decide ONJUSTTHELETTUCE), the 10 minute wait was pretty damn fast. The people working there are friendly and helpful — and to have been chopping damn salads at the request of picky people is quite the feat in my opinion. I really appreciate the nice personality they give as they hand you your $ 10+ salad… Overall, the food is typical of all Chop’t, but the store is one of the better I have been to.

My second time visit with a co-worker who has never been. I was showing him around on places to eat to get away. We both wondered why there is no fruit salad options listed. Not everyone loves eating veggies at lunch. Time to add new choices! Please consider soon! :-)

I’m not really a salad fan. It’s just not my thing. However, every once in a while I’m dragged to a salad place. However, I gladly get convinced to come here. I just LOVE their salads when they’re put into wraps. First off all, a very nice amount of food, so I usually split with someone. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The tables and atmosphere is very fun. Also in a great spot of town! Can’t wait to be «dragged» back.

I love Chop’t but not always unfortunatelyyyy. This location gets crazy busy and they do everything possible to get their order right, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. I loveee you Chop’t but I seem to have a complicated relationship with you :)

The premier chain for enormous chopped salads, Chop’t subscribes to the customization trend that’s been sweeping the area. Customers can choose every element of their salad from the greens(eg spring mix, spinach, or even kale), protein, toppings, and dressing. In case you’re someone who prefers a menu, the chain does provide three monthly seasonal combinations. The combinations tend to be a slightly better deal than ordering those ingredients would be, and the staff is generally happy to substitute or omit items from the preset combinations. The«chopping» is part of what makes Chop’t’s salads distinct from other local salad chains. Your ingredients, once collected in a large metal bowl along with dressing, are tossed and then poured into a fresh cutting board where they are chopped with metal blades. Customers get to choose the level of chopping by they’d like, anything from finely chopped to larger pieces. This location in particular is pretty central and well worth a visit if you’re looking for an easy healthy lunch.

Location is within walking distance of the job so I figure I’d give it a shot. Can’t say I’m a big salad eater but this phase of eating healthier drew me in. Having driven by a couple of these places during lunch time they generally have a line out the door so I would recommend going before or after lunch. Even getting there after 1pm there was STILL a line. I will credit the staff for efficiency. It was a conveyor belt of salad chopping frenzy… Supported by two full stations. Today I opted for the Santa Fe. I’m telling you as a carnivorous dude I didn’t miss anything… The salad was amazing, that Tex Mex dressing gave it the right kick… Bonus point for the music selection in the overhead… Gyptian, Jimmy Cliff. Yeah… Reggae makes lunch better.

I’ve eaten at other Chopt location before and they were pretty good. Fresh ingredients and good choices. This location however… Meh, salad chopped so fine that all the wonderful fresh veggies lost much of their appeal. If you go, make sure you tell them to give your salad only a light chop!

Fast and fresh. Lots of dressing options. I’d like to see some more unique«side» options or signature deserts to put this place over the top.

Alright Chop’t, you finally got a dish that won me over. In general I have found that their salads are bland and need salt. I’m not usually one to add salt to my food(pepper maybe, but never salt), but with chop’t’s salads, I find it necessary. But today I got the Chicken Tinga bowl, and it was delicious. The rice and beans were uneventful on their own, but once mixed in with the chicken and greens — mmmm! The fresh avocado definitely made the dish for me. Beware that this particular location has long lines. The workers are fast and friendly, but you’ll still have to wait to pay for your food.

This is my go to salad place since I work close by. Service has been fast and friendly so far. There has been once or twice where they messed up my online order but overall, I enjoy coming here to get my lunch.

(2.5 stars) I was not very impressed with the salad I got from here. I got the sweet & smoky chipotle dressing which only tastes pretty good but for some reason is really addicting. Although I enjoyed my salad, I much prefer a salad from Sweetgreen instead for a few reasons: First, it is shocking how difficult it is to find the option for making your own salad. It’s like they try to make it a secret so you have to order one of their signature salads. I honestly had to ask someone the details of making your own, i. e how many free toppings are included, because it’s not listed anywhere. Second, the serving size for each topping they throw in your salad is minuscule. It may seem like a lot because it is all chopped up but it’s actually not, especially in comparison to Sweetgreen. Third, whenever I come into this location, their is such a cacophony of loud noises that it’s headache inducing. From the incessant banging of the choppers to the crescendo of loud conversations, it’s never really a pleasant experience walking in. Although it is well-organized, you feel very rushed and detached; which for me is the antithesis of my experiences at Sweetgreen.

Finally a solid place to get quality greens in the city. I’m an avid fan of kale I my salads and Chopt always delivers fresh salads that meet my daily green cravings. This location can get quite busy during lunch, but definitely worth it if you need a salad. Highly recommended

In an area dominated by chains and lunch counters Chop’t is a great place to grab a lunch. The line can be intimidating, but they do an astoundingly efficient job moving people along. I personally have had the Powerhouse Vegetarian salad and the MexiCali Vegan. I highly recommend both, and would strongly encourage the Jalapeño pesto dressing. The $ 10 price tag stops this from being a daily indulgence, but it is worth it for the occasional go. The sidewalk patio(shared with Starbucks) is also a tempting draw during the months in DC that you can bear to be outside at lunchtime.

I tried a Destination Salad called the Melrose with Basil Mint Pesto dressing. Quinoa, cucumbers, avocado, feta cheese, sweet peas and the green leaf lettuce. Nice location, friendly staff, the line is long during lunch but the wait isn’t. It was quick. I definitely recommend this place. The serving is big.
