For breakfast, I ordered toast and large coffee. I got to my office. I found two thick slices of warm bread. Coffee and customer service are horrible.

I changed offices with my job and was excited that there was a D&B just around the corner. I used to love D&B. I don’t know whether their quality has gone down all over the city, or if it’s just this location, but this is not the Devon and Blakely I remember. The soups are pretty good, but they are literally out of half of them if you don’t get there by 12:15. Same goes for the sandwiches. Not sure why the management has not figured out that they should perhaps make more of everything, given it’s busy location. Seems like a poor business decision to me. Also, maybe I was spoiled at the D&B by my old office, but they used to change up the soups all the time and were consistently trying out new ones. This one has the same exact soups every day. Plus, everything is extremely overpriced and the customer service isn’t the best.

They have 18 soups every day, and of them 5 or so are always vegetarian and possibly vegan. Either way, they are well-labeled, and include ingredients and nutrition facts(on the back of the placards). I appreciate that the veg soups are in the row closest to the glass such that there is minimal risk of cross-contamination via drips. They faciltate tasting. I might upgrade this to 5 stars after a few more visits. Today I’m enjoying the ‘Aromatic’ Chickpea Soup. It’s very ginger-y and tasty!

Best place in the area for quality food and quick. Go here probably three times a week. Always good, always fast. The Parmesan Chicken Salad sandwich is the best. And they have a phenomenal and wide range of soups to choose from.

For lunchtime in DC, this is an easy place to get food if you work nearby. The salad station and soup station are great for a quick lunch that tastes better than horrible café in my office building. Quick and efficient, but kind of pricey for to-go lunch!

If this restaurant didn’t have a good location and outdoor seating, I’m pretty sure no one would go to it. It’s extremely crowded inside and the way you order your food is confusing and causes many to be overlooked as those taking orders are literally only shouting out for new orders. I got a blackened chicken sandwich and was horribly disappointed to find it only had a single layer of sliced chicken breast. I had literally purchased a bread sandwich and paid almost $ 10 for it. The seating inside is impossible during the lunch hour because they’ve tried to offer as many seats as possible at the cost of space between tables and chairs. Honestly, I thought maybe my first visit was just a fluke. The place is always busy so I figured it must be good and perhaps I was being too picky. My second visit was just as disappointing and I will never go again. My Advice: Go a few blocks North to The Best Sandwich Place and you’ll be much happier.

Only have gone here due to the convenience of my office. They are over priced and the quality is not very good. Terrible customer service — most do not speak English very well and were rude when I could not understand them. Several experiences have been bad, one in particular was an online order… the sandwich came with the plastic that separated the slices still attached and I bit into it almost slicing my tongue and lip. Wrote to their complaints department and never heard back.

«The rind is inedible with a distinctive, traditional herringbone basket weave pattern, pressed on it.» from . Avoid the sandwiches. They are pre-made and refrigerated. I got a prosciutto and Manchego sandwich which has arugula. To make the sandwich edible they want to heat them … the problem is the heated arugula then becomes slimy. When I got my sandwich back to my desk. I noticed the piece of Manchego at the end of the sandwich still had the rind. When I opened the sandwich one slice of «Manchego» was all dark rind. I went back out to return the sandwich. The store manager at 1776 G Street NW, first response is … oh this cheese should be served with the rind. When I asked about a slice that was all rind she admitted it could be wrong and offered a refund. For the manager to suggest Manchego should be served in a sandwich with the rind on is at best insulting. An interest in food may not be this Manager’s thing but she may want to read up on Manchego at … at least read this section … «The rind is inedible with a distinctive, traditional herringbone basket weave pattern, pressed on it.»
