M. Carol McNeely, now practicing with Tamjidi Skin Institute. Barlow Building Suite 1045 5454 Wisconsin Ave Chevy Chase, MD20815 301652‑4828 Assuming her departure from prior address & new group that took over(it turned into one of those puppy mill type dermatology clinics) awhile ago meant legal gag on office to give former patients any info. While she’s now at a cosmetic focussed practice – so digs are more elegant– she’s still an excellent dermotologist! Thoughtful, personable, professional & very good.

Dr McNeely is an exceptionally intelligent and gifted dermatologist who also possesses a background in immunology, I believe. She’s the real deal; she’s not at all one of those increasingly frequent dermatologists who are aching to focus only on botox and cosmetic surgeries that aren’t covered by insurance and that thus yield far greater profits for the physician. Indeed, she’s a *doctor,” not someone who’s trying to sell treatments, or, indeed, to sell anything at all. I’ve had numerous skin cancers over the years and Dr McNeely has been a great diagnostician and advisor. She has just recently left her old practice at 112019th Street and will soon be joining another practice in the area. If anyone has information on what practice she’s joining, please post it here. I can’t recommend McNelly strongly enough.

Dr. Mcneely has been my dermatologist for 25 years, and I hope to be her patient for another 25 years. She has a wonderful bedside manner and excellent medical judgement. She has an eagle eye to catch bad moles in my annual skin checks, and she cuts those babies out cleanly and clearly, with a very down-to-earth style. She is one of those great doctors I feel would also make a great neighbor.

I researched dozens of area dermatologists online and narrowed down to this one. I called, but the office was closed. I followed the voice mail instructions and left a message about scheduling an appointment. Three business days later, the call had still not been returned. So I called again. The person who answered the appointment line was terse, and mumbled, and I couldn’t understand what was said. Finally, I understood she was saying they were taking no new appointments until October.(This is end of August). «Okay. Fine…» Then she said Dr. McNeely is not taking any new patients. Long silence. «Okay… So??? Do you have anyone who IS taking new appointments in your office?» «The other doctors.» …silence… Finally after a long, long pause of silence, as I waited while thinking she must be looking up openings, rather than an appointment she offered, instead, «You can go on the web site and read about them.» Having done that already, I am not particularly interested in seeing one of the other doctors. I read up on them, too. But given the initial contact with this rude, unhelpful woman who can’t even be bothered to enunciate despite being the first-contact face of the organization, I decided on the spot against going to this office at all.
