My experience at Chads has always been good. The food is great and well priced considering its location. All workers are attentive and it is family friendly. Highly recommend chads!

First time here — Tenleytown ran out of wings. We were seated immediately. The hostess sat us by one of the three TVs right next to the fireplace. We ordered the wings and potato skins. They came out nice and hot. The sauce was tasty and the skins were crunchy on the outside and moist in the inside. Kendrick was excellent! He checked on us the entire stay. I will definitely be back!

Love this restaurant. Wish it were in Houston. Nor al food, varied menu. Not pretentious and/or overpriced.

Their weekday night half-price appetizer and rail drink specials are a ridiculously good deal. We got the loaded nachos, fried green tomatoes, and wings. None of it was anything to write home about but good to know that this is here. There were a few times where we having trouble locating our server, especially towards the end. Might be back if we’re in Chevy Chase since there aren’t a whole lot of options in the area.

2 of us went there for dinner thursday night, 9 pm. very comfortable neighborhood restaurant & bar that we have frequented for 30 years. good comfort food(turkey dinner, porchetta), good wine(i only wish they would bring back Lindemans Australian shiraz or cabernet), reasonable prices, & unfailingly excellent, attentive service at both bar & restaurant. a reliable neighborhood gem.

I love the location of the restaurant! Its a nice place to go to for a date or families. They have a bar where they show the games, and then a dining area for people that want to dine in. The staff is very friendly and want to make sure that all your needs are taken care off. I had the calamari as appetizer, and the grilled salmon with rice and vegetables as my entrée. The food was delicious, and I was also told by the waiter the the wings are also very good. I tried them and wasn’t disappointed. The price is reasonable, and I would def. come back again.

Friendly staff but the food was bland and unimpressive. We arrived for a stay at Embassy Suites and decided to check out the closest local offerings. I was hoping for more but the average ratings proved to be true.

I really like this restaurant. The menu is large and the food is always good. My favorite part though –is the staff! I wonder where they find these people. Friendly and service-minded? Absolutely. But ALSO –they add character to this place. Its hard to describe the experience– you’ll just have to go there and see for yourself.

Chads is the perfect neighborhood place, for decades now among those of us who grew up or still live there. INCREDIBLE burgers, great specials, wonderful service and unmatched attention to detail. We go every Sunday, have for years, real loyalists. But take my word anyway! Fried green tomatoes, excellent wings, salads(Cobb!), I could go on and on. Try it, you’ll come back

The dinner we had here was a total disaster. We were the only patrons eating, while everyone else was drinking at the BAR. The salads were filled with wilted browning lettuce. When I pointed this out to the waiter simply shrugged his shoulders and walked away. We left the salads alone and instead ate some hot items. They were overly fried, hard, and tasteless. Need I say any more? We paid and went to our friends house and ATE.

I work right next to Chads, so decided to try it out. Got a braised lamb pesto sandwich to go with fries — note that they upcharge for adding feta cheese. The lamb was flavorful and plentiful, feta was a great touch, and the fries were freshly made steak style. Bartender was friendly too! Would come back for a casual dinner sometime.

Great place for an intimate dinner. Outdoor seating is great if you want fresh air and a view of the busy K St activity. Prices are reasonable and I liked drawing on the paper tablecloth!

To distinguish it from the no longer existent Georgetown and Alexandria Chadwicks, the name was shortened to Chads a couple of years ago, but not much else has changed, including the 1980’s fern bar-ish décor(complete with brass coast stands!). The sun-room style, street facing, curved wall of windows is a holdover from the days when people just didn’t sit outside(not that Wisconsin Avenue is much to look at anyway). But you don’t come to Chad’s for its décor, you come here for its neighborliness and solid saloon cooking. Its burgers remain better than average and the twelve beer taps offer a modest selection of micros and macros. Sometimes that’s all you need.

Happy hour review! The good: Mon-Fri 4 – 7 Rail drinks– $ 2.95(no typo) Non seafood apps-$½ Service is prompt The bad: The apps(wings, chips & guac and fried green tomatoes) have no taste whatsoever but they can be saved with a little salt and pepper from the shakers provided on the table. Overall– the drinks are $ 3. After a long day at work this place will work at that price point even if the food isn’t the greatest.

Chads is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to Cheers(you know, the TV show). You walk downstairs to enter it and everything. It’s that bit of nostalgia that attracts me to this place, however it’s the food and service that has turned me into a repeat customer. Service at Chads is top notch. Whenever I’ve gone, I’ve always been greeted by a friendly host/hostess, always seated immediately, and my order has been taken right away. It’s the way service is supposed to be. On top of that, the food is delicious. Just about everything I’ve had at Chads has been pretty good. Their menu is quite extensive, so I’m sure there’s something on there for everyone. Overall, Chad’s is one of my favorites in the DC Metro Area and I highly recommend them.

A neighborhood classic. Where they really do know your name and know your favorite dishes and drinks. Friendly atmosphere especially the bar tenders – Find Shannon she will take care of you. Another great server is David. The menu is extensive. I went for the steak wrap. Delicious and filling. The other day I had the chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was grilled to perfection. I used to eat here a lot when lived close by. And recently rediscovered Chads and I am glad I did!

I had the ribs. Sauce was good and a needed crutch for what was slightly gamey, yet tender, pork. I imagine Chad’s would call their potato salad and slaw to be subtle. I’d call it bland. My wife got similarly bored of her salad. Not bad, just pedestrian.

Nachos, Nachos, Nachos. That’s your dinner for the night. During happy hour, this enormous mountain of cheesy, nacho cheese, bean covered, guac filled, beef slaying plate of food is half price. This is where quantity meets quality. It will feed a family of 4 for a price of 5 McChicken Sandwiches, if that still stays on the dollar menu. It’s weighs as much as a newborn baby and looks just as messy when you start dipping the chips around. If nachos aren’t your thing, then try out the buffalo chicken wings or the chicken tenders. You can’t go wrong with any of these orders unless you’re watching your waistline then just feel guilty about it tomorrow morning. Tonight is all about going on this guilt trip of greasy food american food, with a side of fresh carrots and celery. I always wonder why chicken wings comes with carrots and celery; I still haven’t found the answer to that. Basically you can come to happy hour without eating the entire day and go home feeling sick to your stomach from the amount of bar food that you just consumed. Not happy with that deal? how about adding on a mixed drink filled with your favorite plastic bottle rail drink of your choice for only $ 3. You cannot find that at any other place in Friendship Heights. Happy hour goes on until 7p. m and prices jump back up but by that time you’re already twisted from the half gin half tonic pint glasses. You’ll be leaning and weaving after you’re done with happy hour.

Honestly, if I lived in the neighborhood, I would probably go here a lot more often. Chadwick’s(because it will always be Chadwick’s to me) has this very retro vibe that is honest and unassuming. It would be weird if they tried to make it into some super-modern, chic place. It’s a neighborhood bar/restaurant, bordering on dive, but with quality food and beverages, at prices that make you forget you’re in Friendship Heights. It’s a burger joint that has breakfast/brunch, delicious, filling salads, and a pretty standard bar food menu. I went with a decent sized group, and we all cleaned our plates! I had the eggs Benedict, which were actually really awesome. I’m picky about my eggs Benedict, and Chadwick’s got it right. I also had the wedge salad, which was exactly what it should have been. The Bloody Marys were good, too, though I preferred the spicy to the regular. Chadwick’s isn’t a fancy place, but it’s warm and inviting, and feels like home.

Wandered in on a cold and windy day, and headed down the short flight for lunch at the bar. Greeted by a friendly bartender with the name of «Beaver». Yes, as in «Wally and the…» or «Ward you were a little tough on the…» sort. He was a wealth of knowledge about the local Chadwicks establishments and gave a proper Guinness pour too. He knew the menu and offered flexible substitutions to some specials and a sampler of the soup du jour to help make my mind up. Since it was cold(and the sample was tasty), I went with corn chowder and a half a BLT on seeded rye bread. I chose wisely. The food was spot on. Crispy but not burnt, thick cut bacon with fresh lettuce and tomato with mayo on the side paired so nicely with corn chowder and fresh ground pepper on top(with bell peppers diced into the soup). I’ll definitely go back to this location if in Friendship Heights again. If not for the food, but for the fantastic service. Thanks.
