It’s kind of empty now. I can’t guess to as why. Everyone seems nice here. But it’s overpriced, and it took a hella long time to make the thing. It’s preformed meat. WHAT could take so long?

They take a really long time to make a hot dog, it’s overpriced for what it is, and … dammit… ChiDogO’s, why are you leaving me!!! As part of a development deal, ChiDogO’s is closing down and moving to College Park. It may be far from perfect, but it’s one of the few places to get a fast(ish), cheap(ish), tasty(ish) bite to to eat in the area. I’m going to miss your stupid food, jerks.

I think I’ll leave my occasional indulgences in a ChiDog to actual visits to Chicago rather than return here. The only upside — it did quell a rumbling stomach that was ready to gnaw someone’s arm off. But over $ 5 for a ChiDog and soda when I actually had to look to see if there was a dog in the bun — the offering here is an overpriced, distant shadow of its namesake. Not kidding. The dog itself was miniscule. I’ve never seen a Vienna Beef dog so tiny and shriveled.(Well at least they advertise it as a Vienna Beef dog). Peppers, pickle, bun, celery salt and tomato all fine, but the relish seemed off. It wasn’t that DAY-GLO green that I’m used to having on a Chicago-style dog. Came, munched, but sadly probably won’t be back.

I didn’t get too wild and crazy with my order here. Instead, I just got straight to the point… 1 Chicago Style Hot Dog with all the fixins In just a few minutes wait, out came my lovely Chi-Dog, loaded with relish, onions, pickle spears, tomatoes, sport peppers, mustard and a dash of celery salt, cradles in a poppy seed bun. Acid reflux whaaaaaat? Anyway, the veggies were fresh and juicy, but there was nothing particularly stood out about the hot dog or bun itself. I think the greatest highlight for my adventures in ChiDogO land was the special little ice tea fountain with four different ice teas to choose from. Would I come back? Sure, why not?! The restaurant appeared cleaned and the staff was incredibly nice. Plus, they have chili cheese fries so now that I’ve sworn off Ben’s, I might have to give these shot!

Cute name! This place has been open since November 22 and the reason I know that is because everyone that walked in had this look on their face like«what is this place about?» followed by «how long have you been here?» Looks like I’m gonna be the first person repping the vegetarian dog. It was my first vegetarian dog so I didn’t know what to expect. But it tasted like a regular hot dog. To be honest, there are so many toppings, you can’t even really taste the hot dog itself… I’m a big fan of the«sport peppers.» They pack a punch. Overall the hot dog was really good I could have probably eaten 3 of them. And for the price, it’s a great deal! I would imagine this is the perfect place for some drunk food.
