For a place that attracts so many families, we were shocked they had only one gross bathroom with no changing table. The food was good quality but overpriced considering the small portions and sarcastically unpleasant wait staff. Would much prefer neighboring options.

The place was nice, nice environment and ambient but they lost our order and told us 45 mins after waiting that our food was JUST put in when people Around us had already received their food, it wasn’t even that busy, we got our drinks free but ehhh probably won’t come back until the sour taste in my mouth wears off from waiting for no food

Stopped in for some pizza at around 3pm took them 45 mins to tell us our order ticket was lost. Would’ve liked to actually try my food before reviewing but no food means NOGO.

The best pizza I’ve ever had. Period. Crispy crust, smoky cheese, bacon, mushrooms. As good as it gets!

The personality was cool, but we all agreed the pizza wasn’t. I think the eatable cheese and topping part of the pizza to the –burnt– crust ratio was 60⁄40. More than that, taste was nothing spectacular. They had a decent variety of toppings, but didn’t have ranch as a dipping sauce. As a pizza place, specializing in pizza, it wasn’t a good meal and I would expect more.

Love it here. Pizza is superior. I always have the Yalie and clams on a pizza is not to be missed.

Amazing hidden gem. Had the wings which they pair with a nice dipping sauce. Chicken was falling off the bone and great. Also made our own pizza. The crust was so light and the lamb meat balls were moist and flavorful.

Wonderful pizza place to bring friends from out of town. Had some friends in town from Toronto and wanted to take them somewhere fun and unique to eat. I had seen this restaurant on Triple D and immediately thought of it. Was not disappointed. Went in around 6:15 on a Friday night. Had to wait 20 – 30 for a table but that was completely expected. They have us a buzzer and we could go to the little cage next door for a drink while we waited. Each of us ordered our own pizza. Between us we had The Jimmy, The Drive, The Cabbage Patch and The Pork. We all shared so I was able to try all four. I think they were all excellent but my favorite had to the The Jimmy. The meatballs on it were so delicious. But my second favorite what The Cabbage Patch with its Brussel Sprouts. My friends had some IPA that was on tap but I was driving home that night and didn’t try any. They did like it though. Our waiter was funny and sweet. He took real good care of us. Got to play ping pong too for a bit but there were a bunch of people waiting so we didn’t play too long. I believe they have 4 ping pong tables and it’s free to play. That was fun. Haven’t played in years and it was neat to do while waiting for food. I am very pleased I had this little gem stored to bring friends to. They really enjoyed it and I think it’s a place they’ll remember.

Some of the best pizza I’ve had in DC My favorite pizza is the Jimmy also love the mac & cheese bites would highly recommend if you have kids very family friendly and a bunch of ping-pong tables in the back and you can play while you wait for the pizza There also have some Live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the back

Neat low key pizza joint to grab a brewski and feed your appetite. The bathrooms are hidden behind a barrel wall — cool but impossible to find. Outdoor seating under the string lights are great for summer nights. Parking is easier to find in nearby neighborhoods across the street.

This pizza was every bit as fantastic as Guy said, which was enhanced by the ricotta add in. The sauce was flavorful and the fennel sausage was by far the best that I’ve ever had. Between 2 pizzas with 2 add ons, 3 glasses of wine, one mixed cocktail, an appetizer and 1 dessert, our bill was close to $ 100. So be prepared to drop some cash.

I was thrilled when this place opened and have been a regular ever since. Pizza and ping pong = one of the all time best combinations and this place nails it. Yummy pizza, relaxed vibe, fun and artistic atmosphere, great service plus… YOUCANPLAYPINGPONG! Make a day of it: go to P&P then play and eat pizza.

Great pizza just small in size. Tried the ca-lamb-ity Jane and steel wills. The steel wills was good but the Ca-lamb-ity Jane was amazing… brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. I’m not one to get a pizza without tomato sauce but I’m so happy I did! Restaurant has a laid back vibe and music was good, was able to pick a few songs on the jukebox. Played some ping pong afterwards and it was an overall great time.

Comet is great, the atmosphere is very good but is also very loud. There are lots of kids and if that’s not your thing I wouldn’t reccomend it. A bit over priced but still very good. Pizza is delicious!

This bar is fantastic! During the day they have a strong ping pong crowd, and at night they have a great local bar scene. The sporadic live music is good if you enjoy nuevo hipster music. Not bad if you give it a chance.

Good family place, and great pizza options. BUT, there is nothing on the menu for us non-wheat eaters besides roasted cauliflower and roasted beets.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm. Place was busy but we(2) were seated right away. Ordered wings, salad and a pizza but they were out of wings(sad face). So we instead settled for two pizzas(New Slam and something else). Both were really good, fresh ingredients, dough was amazing. The pizzas are enough for one person so we were satisfied afterward. Good service, ok atmosphere, pricey for what it is but in the end worth it! Casual pizza spot that I’ll definitely return to soon.

Came here with 3 kids and 3 adults… we easily finished 5 pizzas and dessert. The pizza was great, although some reviewers say it was bland, I really enjoyed mine with roasted brussell sprouts, mushrooms, feta and jalapenós. Even the regular cheese pizza we ordered had great flavor. Service was on point and they didn’t skimp on the drinks. Skip the apple crumb and go for the ice cream sandwiches. Ask them to warm the cookie.

Comet Ping Pong is a good neighborhood go-to when I’m wanting a casual meal outside. The first few times we visited, my boyfriend and I tried various specialty pizzas from their menu and were never too impressed. We started creating our own(choosing our own toppings) and have been much happier. I also really enjoy the wings and they always have a good beer selection. We usually only come here to sit out on the patio — the inside is dark and loud. It does get very crowded, so be prepared to wait if coming on the weekend. The patio is dog-friendly, and they always bring a bowl of water for our pup.

Went there for the first time tonight. We tried the corn appetizer, wings, a tomato based pizza and a white pizza with drinks. Good things: The Drinks were good and stiff in 16 Oz glasses. After two drinks, you need to call an über. The wings were jerk style and very yummy! Bad things: The Pizza was bland! I’ve had better at Pizza Boli’s or the Jumbo Slice in Adams Morgan. I would return for drinks and the wings!

Awesome and chill place to grab a late night bite to eat or drink. Ping pong tables in the back for beginners to more advanced players. The bartender is amazing and welcoming(Ante) and makes you feel like a member of the Comet family.

Came in just for drinks tonight but we will be back for food. Every pizza I saw looked delicious. The wings look amazing as well. The bartender is awesome and attentive. I’ll be back soon. I had the Jack’s Cider which was delicious.

Ordered Timeout and Hottie. I like big flavor. Timeout is more on the mild side. Should have had extra cheese on both! Service was good, pies were just fine.

From where I live in DC, even Pizzeria Paradiso seems like a schlep, and don’t get me started on 2 Amys. So why would I ever venture all the way up into the farthest reaches of the NW quadrant just for pizza? OK, the short answer is, I wouldn’t. The long answer is, I like going to book lectures at Politics & Prose, and I’m usually starving afterwards. Fortunately, Comet is just a stone’s throw(or a pizza dough toss?) away, like an oasis of deliciousness in the wilderness. The place is usually pretty crowded, often with kids, and a bit noisy, so it might not be tops on the list for romantic date night. Then again, pizza and beer is a good way to get a date to let their hair down and relax, so who knows? I just come because the pizza is delicious: nice soft chewy crust and fresh, flavorful toppings, paired with a decent if not extravagant beer list. My only quibble is that the pies are a little small, and not quite enough to fill me up, but I am a big fat guy so my standards may be skewed. I understand that there is actually ping pong, and sometimes bands, which I have yet to take advantage of, but I’m sure they would only improve the experience. Even without them, Comet serves up quality pies in a remote corner of town where you might otherwise despair of finding a decent slice.

I went to Comet Ping Pong to celebrate a friend’s birthday on 5÷3÷15. Although I liked the concept of this place I can’t give it a high rating. I am going to start off with what I liked about this restaurant and then move to why it is not receiving a higher rating. I liked the fact the restaurant had the vibe of industrial architecture with splashes of modern art pieces. As the other Unilocalers have mentioned, the restaurant also has a parking lot in the back(which was reassuring when we decided to drive there from Alexandria, VA). I really enjoyed the dessert I had with my friends(after a spirited round of ping pong in the back of the restaurant). The non-dessert food was just okay and was somewhat limited for a vegetarian such as myself(which frankly surprised me because pizza places usually are safe bet for vegetarians). My pizza had garlic. Instead, of having the garlic minced or shredded on the pizza; I had 2 large cloves of garlic placed on my pizza. Our waiter was a little scattered brained. He arrived without a working pen to take our order. He also came back to the table after we placed our orders within 5 minutes to take our orders again. Although, my friends and I enjoyed playing ping pong after lunch I was surprised to only find 3 ping pong tables(since this the restaurant’s «hook» is ping pong). My friends and I didn’t have any problems getting a ping pong to table to play. However I can imagine on a crowded night you’d have to wait awhile to play. In a nutshell okay food with a hook that doesn’t really live up to the expectation.

I drove up here for a friend’s concert, and didn’t order food, so this review is mostly about the venue and the bar. The back area, where the stage is, is a pretty good sized space and shows seem to be appropriately loud. They had a lot of beers on tap, including one Victory Golden Monkey(super tasty tripel). My only complaint is that it took forever to get the bartender’s attention — despite it being 11:30 pm on a Thursday night, and the bar being mostly empty. Pro tip: there is a parking lot in the back! I live in NoVA, so it would have been a longggg metro ride, or an expensive cab ride. I took the chance that I’d find parking and was rewarded: just turn right at the corner and there is a little driveway to a fairly large lot in the back.

I built this place up in my mind and imagined it to be a little better then what it was. The majority of the reason why I thought it would be better was due to it being featured on triple d from the Food Network Here are the findings: very cool interior and vibe. Defiantly unique. A bunch of tables to sit at or grab a stool at the bar. Food is served where ever. I had the Yalie which is highly recommend. Something a little different that works The pizzas are personal size(large dinner plate). I was with 5 other people and I will say the«hottie» was no more then pepperoni and a few sliced jalapeños on it. Is it the best pizza I ever had? No but it’s defiantly not the worst, just a little lack luster. There are only 3 ping pong tables in the back and for a place that advertise pizza and ping pong I was thinking they would have at lease 3 more tables. Used a Amazon local coupon and when I handed it to the waiter he seemed less then enthusiastic that I was presenting him this coupon. Oh well buddy! Kid friendly place and the kids that were there had a blast!!! Plenty of parking behind the building. Overall an ok place…

Came here with my bf because we had a Living Social. The environment is awesome. Great little patio, cute upcycled, natural décor. Not a huge restaurant and they have a small little bar too. Very unique. The ping pong area is towards the back of the restaurant and I accidentally wandered in there when I was looking for the bathroom… now that was hard to find. There were no signs for it anywhere. It’s in this hidden den thing in the middle of the restaurant and it looks like just a big wood wall, but if you push it it opens up! Pretty cool. The food was great. Apparently they use sustainable ingredients, but I didn’t look into that much. I just love vegetables so when I saw they had roasted cauliflower, beets and spaghetti squash as apps I was so excited! We got the roasted cauliflower and foccacia with comet sauce(some tomato and meat sauce). Both were very tasty — the foccacia was buttery and savory and the cauliflower was cooked perfect with garlic. Then we got out entrees. I got The Smokey(bacon, sautéed onions, and mushrooms) and he got The Philly(calzone with broccoli rabe and pork). Both were amazing. My pizza was cooked perfect, dough was crusty but still soft on the outside. The only thing was the cheese kept slipping off, but it wasn’t enough of a problem for me to mind. I dipped it in their homemade ranch which was deliciously creamy and tangy. His Philly was delicious too. Again the dough was perfect, it was super cheesy and the broccoli rabe added a really good crunch. Best part was that portions were not huge. I didn’t feel like a glut after eating a whole pizza. Next time we will try the ping pong. Def recommend.

I will never eat at Comet Ping Pong again and the reason is customer service. Went to pick up three pizzas today for my friends in preparation for a birthday party. Got to the restaurant ready to return with happiness. Unfortunately they hadn’t put in the order in. I can understand and people make mistakes. So I proceeded to wait at the bar at the suggestions of the waitress and had a beer and was waiting for quite some time. Finally decided to check in with the waiterres at the front of the restaurant. Unfortunately they hadn’t let me know that the pizzas were ready even though I had been waiting in full view in the middle of the restaurant for over 25 minutes. It’s not that had to wait it’s just that I didn’t feel that anyone was concerned that all these mistakes were made. I just wanted someone to say they were sorry about the mix up and care enough to let me know when things were ready so that I could get on my way. I will hesitate to eat here again and would urge others to think twice. The pizza is satisfactory but the customer service is lacking. Would not recommend.
