Great and healthy sandwiches on fresh delicious bread. Tucked just down the road from the Navy Yard, this little shop grocery store combo is a fantastic lunch spot.

I LOVE Corner. The Stadium is my jam unless I’m going veg then it’s the Green Line. I’m a chip fanatic and they have a worthy selection. Service is as efficient as they can do it with lunch rushes on nice days! You are definitely full and happy after eating here — worth the price! Just wish they were open on the weekends…

Don’t let looks deceive you! This is a small hole in the wall with no seating. It is the sort of place where you pick up sandwiches to go. The guy behind the register was on the ready to take my order as soon as I walked in. Even though there were a couple of people ahead of me, the two sandwich makers had the sandwich built and bagged in flash. I got the Capitol Sandwich which wet my appetite to try everything on the menu in future visits. I highly recommend that you pick up one of these reasonably priced quality sandwiches and walk it over Yards Park to eat by the water.

The hype of the bulgogi was just that hype. However, it was a good place to dine and support a local small business while in the area for work. *Apologies to the owner for saying bibimbap in my original post instead of bulgogi. They emailed me asking for this correction.

This place is certainly worth the try if you are in the area. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and added some smoked Gouda cheese. I will certainly return, once I added chips and a drink it came to roughly $ 12 bucks, but I was in and out in under 5 min and my food was fresh and healthy as well. There’s no seating inside, but you can sit outside if you want or even walk to the waterfront.

I’ve found my new favorite sandwich shop in DC. Great bread, fresh ingredients, tasty combinations, lines at lunchtime(stick with it, this is a good sign!). I tried the Monument(Italian Cold Cut) and Dupont(Roast Beef, cheddar, horseradish mayo). Both were EXCELLENT. Local owned business. Highly recommended! I am eating one right now as I write. It was that good.

Whenever we are in D.C., this deli is a MUSTSTOP on our itinerary! My 12 year son who is an extremely picky eater craves the sandwiches! Unfortunately, we live in Los Angeles! Despite living in Los Angeles where there are plenty of great restaurants and deli, none compares with Cornercopia deli! Everyone in my family has a different favorite. From my favorite, the Georgetown, my kids’ favorite, the Stadium, or my husband’s choice of the Capitol, these subs are amazing! Albert and Danica, the sweet young couple who owns the deli refuse to compromise on the fresh high quality ingredients. They serve the best quality Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. You will not find iceberg lettuce at this shop! Don’t waste a meal on plain sandwiches from other places, Cornercopia sandwiches are beyond compare! Yum!!! Too bad they can’t overnight it to us! ;(

One of the better sandwiches I have had in DC. It’s certainly not otherworldy like you can find on every corner of South Philly or many places in NY, however for DC it was very good. As mentioned in other reviews the ingrediants are very fresh. Bread was just OK. Outstanding selection of Boyland soda’s. I will return.

Stopped into Cornercopia and ordered«The Stadium». Quality sandwich on very fresh bread. My only gripe was turkey to bread ratio was off. Most of the turkey was stacked in the middle of the sandwich, so once I finished the center of the sandwich, all I was eating was lettuce, bacon and cheese. That’s always been one of my pet peeves with deli sandwiches. Still, the sandwich was pretty damn good, and I will be back… soon! I wish this place had tables outside(no room inside for tables).

5-stars on quality, but I’m a sandwich snob and these sandwiches could be better. They are really good, just not 5-star worthy. The little shop has very limited quantities of food, but the food they have is unique and very high-quality. It is probably the best quality in the area, including the new Harris Teeter and the upcoming whole foods. They have unique traits including many European chocolates and goodies, and their milk and yogurts and ice cream are provided by local high-quality merchants such as trickling Springs. If you’re in the area this is definitely a good place to get a sandwich, Grab an ice cream, grab a drink, and maybe sit in Canal Park and enjoy your day!

Tucked away on a quiet neighborhood street corner, barely distinguishable from the row homes surrounding it, is Cornercopia. While all the other places by DOT and the Navy Yard are packed at lunchtime, this place generally flies under the radar. The name says it all — they stock a little bit of everything… but I come here for the sandwiches. Generally when I order a cold sandwich, I don’t expect much because I’m pretty sure I could make better at home. But the sandwiches here are absolutely unbeatable; I couldn’t ever come even close to replicating the perfection that is the«Greenline»(on absolutely delicious marbled rye by choice). Avocado, gouda, cranberries, LT, a creamy pesto-like spread and some kind of balsamic vinaigrette combine in the most heavenly fashion. Their veggies are fresh, wherever they get their bread from is top notch, and their sandwich combos are genius. They also have an incredible variety of chips and drinks to choose from to round out your lunch. It is a very small space, they only have a couple of employees, the only seating is a park bench outside, and their menu isn’t very large so I definitely wouldn’t recommend rolling up with a large group of coworkers. But if you’re flying solo for lunch or out with a friend or two, you must check this place out… if you can find it.

I’ve gone here maybe 3 times in the 4 times that I have worked by the navy Yard and I don’t know why I ha vent gone back more often! It’s delicious! I had«Mom’s chicken Salad» which is huge and plenty for two meals. Its on a hearty sub roll with just the right consistency of chicken and mayo and celery and then delicious pesto and cranberries… I consider myself a chicken salad fiend and when I find some that I like, I cant get enough! I went in today around 11:30, thinking there would be a wait, there were about 8 people ahead of us. Surprisingly we were in and out in under 10 minutes. They are a well oiled machine! They have plenty of drinks, and chips and other snacks to choose from as well. My friend Kim got«The Georgetown» which is a fan favorite. Roasted Turkey, pesto sauce, cranberries on a french roll. She gets it every time. As a sandwich shop I would say it’s one of the best!

As a sandwich person, I had to try this place … I got the chicken salad sandwich and a friend got the roast beef — both were amazing. Good balance of flavors, fresh bread and a nice kick in each … the first with the cranberries, the latter with the horseradish mayo. Will go back for bulgogi if in the neighborhood on a Thursday. Oh, and the owner was very friendly … love the comfortable, family feel.

Great sandwiches! I discovered this place on a business trip when I was in the area and haven’t eaten lunch anywhere else since! The capital sandwich is one of my favorites! they have a diverse selection of chips, drinks and other snack items in the store! Wait times are very minimal when busy during the lunch hour! They don’t have seating, so each sandwich is packed to go.

I have a soft spot for this place, because it’s held it’s own in our difficult transitional neighborhood. I wish they were open more often(they close early and on weekends) and the menu is a bit limited, but the bulgogi is amazing, and you can pick up a snack or bottle of wine while walking the dog. The owners are nice people, too Best sandwich: Tarragon/cranberry chicken salad

Yum, just doggone yum. Located near the Navy Yard as you may have guessed parking is fair to middling at best, but who cares?! It totally serves the purpose to those that live/work in the area. Cornercopia is a dope corner spot that sells nifty grocery items, food, and my favorite sammiches. Quaint spot, nice, helpful staff;prices are average for the area. A sandwich and chips were just shy of ten bucks. Nice selection to choose from, each sandwich had a name akin to the something in the area. The clerk said the stadium was the most popular sandwich, so that’s what I tried. Now if you don’t know me by now and my fear or distaste of mayo you know that that was a no go… so balsamic vinegar it is. And go! What I got was a ginormous sandwich that had smoked pepper mill turkey, avocado and BACON! Pretty much all of my favorite things. They didn’t skimp on the toppings and the sandwich was extremely fresh. If I wasn’t so hongreh, I would have saved half for later. Too bad… If I’m ever in the area, I’m soo going back. I’ve got other sandwiches to try!

Tiny but cute shop selling great sandwiches, korean bulgogi, and gourmet groceries. You can get asian treats like panda chocolate cookies or gourmet chocolates/breads/cookies/drinks, etc. The variety of chips is fantastic and there are several cakes and cheesecakes for dessert. The Stadium turkey BLT with avocado and spicy Russian dressing on wheat is superb. Very fresh and flavorful with quality ingredients. I could eat any one of their sandwiches everyday. The owner was kind and patient enough to allow me to sample the bulgogi since I couldn’t make a decision. While good, it needs more spice, but I guess you can customize the spice level to your liking so that’s nice. Wish they had a NOVA outpost. Kind of pricey for a singe serving and no seating hence the 4 stars. Had to go eat at Lot 38 across the street. Cornercopia is a delish treat and will definitely return if I’m in the area.

Cornercopia is absolutely delightful. This place functions as both a deli and corner store with odd, often all natural or organic, and sometime Asian pre-packaged foods. Definitely get the sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich with pesto eggs has saved me on more than one morning following a late night. The other sandwiches are all delicious as well. Be ready to dedicate some time to getting your sandwiches as these are all made to order and if you happen to come in after a few other patrons, you may be there for a while. It’s worth it, promise! I don’t eat meat but have heard from many people that the bulgogi is great too. Don’t forget to check out their selection of local and craft beverages.

I started to expand my scope of lunch eats just from the office to several blocks and beyond. This has taken me to Cornercopia a corner shop sandwich place with approximately a dozen subs in their arsenal. An armament that is absolutely outstanding, the subs are named after DC areas or landmarks and though I have only made my way through two of them, it has been a joy each time. My favorite sandwich with turkey, pesto and cranberries which I can not recall the name currently is my pick for this face, but more adventurous types will find an assortment to their liking. The C shop is only missing out on a perfect score by own stubbornness and no club sandwich option. Maybe I didn’t ask about that but I didn’t see it either. It’s still hella good Cornercopia I bow my head in your direction.
