Cram Sally J, DDS

My dentist (who I like a lot) referred me to Dr. Cram to have two gum grafts performed. My dentist has told me that the grafting work that she did looks good. So, I don’t have complaints about the outcome of the procedure. But I gave Dr. Cram 2 stars because I felt like the visit was awful. Here’s why: (a) her manner seemed unnecessarily rough during the procedure, (b) she SANG/​HUMMED loudly during the entire quite painful operation (you are awake during this), and © not only was she singing, but loud music on the radio was played during the procedure (she did not seem to be singing along with the radio). I asked that the music be turned off, turned down, or the station changed, and was told by the assistant, in no uncertain terms, that this was simply not an option. Given the amount I am paying, and the fact that I am actually the patient/​customer, doesn’t really seem to be patient friendly.

Her dental hygienist was awful — so rough that I actually saw pieces of tissue when I rinsed my mouth. When I complained, Dr. Cram said «oh, my other clients love her» — got defensive almost to the point of being creepy. She absolutely did not seem to care at all about the fact that I experienced pain. I agree with the other reviewer — stay away!

Dr. Cram has done a great job on my receding gums. I’ve been there twice, in 2010 and just last week. Both times the tissue was spliced onto my gums, and after a couple of weeks it attached perfectly and looks and feels great. I had a visit for the surgery and then two follow up visits, both times. I am confident now that I will not have problems when I am older, because I took care of things now.

The worst dental experience I ever had! Dr. Cram’s initial examination was so painful I was jumping out of my seat! When I complained about the pain she told me to «Buck up». I have never heard something so unprofessional from a member of the medical community in my life. I got up and told her that I should be seeing another dentist.
She was absolutely uncaring about my pain level. Avoid her at all costs!
