D’Acqua

Please note, this review is for D’Acqua’s smaller, casual concession in the Verizon Center focusing on light fare, such as paninis and sandwiches and one or two pasta options. Basically, this concession stand is the square root of the larger original.
Having this gourmet food option in lieu of the typical poor quality stadium food is AMAZING! I pretty much ate the best Meatball Parmesan sub I’ve ever had with the tastiest Parmesan garlic fries while watching Alexander Ovechkin get a hat trick (live). You can’t beat that.
I’ve also tried the chicken parm and calamari from here and both were spectacular. The calamari was not overcooked at all and very tender.
I know the larger Pennsylvania Avenue location is closed temporarily, and it’s no substitute for the larger venue with full menu, but it might help in the interim to get your fix.
Note — the secret is out and most people know about this place now, so lines are longer and it takes a while to get your food.
