Denny’s

Food was great! The food is good in the hood a must visit for breakfast! The presentation of food on the plates unbelievable! I give them 5 stars the best Dennys I have ever ate at in years.

15 minutes away from where we stayed, this Dennys had good food, reasonably priced, very pleasant wait staff. Great thing is that it is open 24 hours! It would have been a five star earner if the rest rooms were a bit cleaner.

Very fast service! Great late night place. Here at 12:41 am and we got our drinks almost immediately as we sat down. Food order was taken about 3 minutes after walking in and came out within 15!

Good, quick, service. This particular location is more of a restaurant style than diner style Denny’s. It can definitely get a bit crowded on Saturday and Sunday, but their table turn around is pretty quick so you never have to wait long. Suprisingly clean… the ladies room is a wreck, not sure what’s happening there, not dirty… just beat up… but otherwise a really good spot to get a quick bite.

Not bad for a valentine day Sunday. Wait was short. Food was good service was better than expected.

Since undergoing new management a few years ago this location is amazing! Customer service is always phenomenal and so is the food. I will definitely continue to patronize this neighborhood gem!

My fav Sat morning spot with my little one. It can be loud at times but the food is excellent every time we go! Servers are a little retarded so just ask for everything you want when you order (extra butter, ketchup etc).

My husband and I truly had a great experience at this location, we were seated quickly, service was great and the food was cooked perfectly. The music was «Old School» and they had live entertainment (from the locals) lol… I am a native Washingtonian and believe it or not this is my first time visiting this location, due to the service we will definitely patronize this location again.

Service was quick, server was pleasant and offered best deal for my meal. Coffee strong, meal came in about 15 minutes.

Came on a Saturday afternoon. We were sat right away which was nice, my fiancé and I waited 10 minutes for a server who apologized because she didn’t «see us». We ordered both our food and drink at that time 15 minutes later our waters arrived. 10 minutes after that our food arrived. Our order was completely messed up, she sent over a manager who took $ 3 off our bill… Umm thanks? Neither the server or manager ever came over to see how things were or to refill our drinks. Terrible experience and yes I know it’s Denny’s so what can you expect but I definitely wouldn’t have expected this. Just awful.

Service was good. Food was ok. However the roach that walked crossed the table killed my appetite

two consecutive visits and absolutely terrible customer service each time. The last visit I was the only person in the section and got no service for 15 minutes. Three tables were seated and they were all served before me. It was only after I got up to leave that anyone said anything. Will NEVER go back

Thank you bringing food to this part of DC. It’s so hard to find close decent breakfast spots around here. Staff are super polite, and the portions are great. Got to love their skillets. Keep it coming!

I got hungry on my bday, didn’t feel like cooking, and remembered that Denny’s has the free Grand Slam deal on your birthday (have to present your I.D.). So, I decided to push the boundaries of lonerism and go claim my free meal.
This Denny’s is very informal (to put it nicely), so don’t expect premium service. The service was generally slow across the board, but it wasn’t a big deal to me. When my waitress did greet me, she was very nice. I’ll run down the pros and cons and be out:
Pros:
–Has WiFi (surprising)
–Offers «healthy» alternatives (turkey bacon, chicken sausage, wheat pancakes… (surprising)
–My waitress was nice
–Plays gospel music (on Sunday at least. Don’t know about M-​Sat, could be trap music)
–The food is decent, for the price.
–Peanutbutter /​chocolate milkshake
Cons:
–Slow service
–Pancakes came out well after the rest of my meal. In fact, I finished the entire meal before they remembered to bring them. I’m a fast eater tho… and was by myself… and hungry.
The «amenities» of this establishment salvaged a star. It’s worth visiting as a cheap eat if you are near and don’t feel like cooking.

This place sucks… I waited for 20 minutes and still no waiter had shown to take our order not even to provide water while we wait.

Went here a couple of days ago with some friends off the late night and believe it or not it was people in there around 4 am. The workers were kind to us, always getting us refills on the drinks, and the food was good. Would defiantly go there again afta a long night of turning up

The food is always delicious. The service is surprisingly good. I would suggest calling your order in & eating at home if you live close. Its usually crowded to dine in & a little loud. The menu is extensive offering something for everything. The new tropical smoothie is delicious!

UPDATE: I have removed 2 stars because, with additional experience, Dennys has not held up. It’s breakfast pancake meals are pretty good but the rest of their food has been terrible. I ordered an omelet and the cheese was a slice of American on top of the egg. Disgusting. Also, service is horrific. Each time, I am ignored for 15+ min before anyone comes to take my order. So, I am giving 2 stars on the strength of the the one meal I enjoy there.
I have always defaulted to IHOP. However, lately, not that impressed with my local IHOP establishments. So, on this Independence Day 2014, I needed to go out for breakfast and thought I’d give Dennys a try. It turns out, this was an excellent choice. Pretty standard diner fare but it was very good & much better than IHOP IMHO. The food came in good time, was hot and tasted fresh. The staff was quick, attentive and pleasant. The dining room did not feel like the overcrowded and loud circus I generally find at IHOP. They even put me in a spacious booth by the window rather than at a table in the middle of the room. This will be my diner brekkie place for the foreseeable future.

Like many other reviewers am a little surprised to be giving it such a high review. Long gone are the days when I come to a Dennys at 3am to drink coffee and chain smoke (you could do that back then!) It has been many many years since I’ve been to one, and thought I had out grown it. Nope, it still serves good and taste food and reasonable prices. We where in during the Sunday morning church crowd rush but got a seat right away. The service was good, but took a little long. I know they where slammed and in the grand scheme of things, it didn’t take that long. I love how they do hash browns. Shredded and fried, with crunchy bits. I’m so sick of places that seem to boil the potatoes and cut them in large chucks and call it hash browns. No deal, now if I can stay up late enough to try it again at 3am.
