If you utilize your credit union account the way it is meant to be run, this is an excellent credit union. I have been a member of a few credit unions in my day and this is one of my favorite ones. The management and staff are friendly and quick to respond to requests. Remember, it is not always the credit union’s responsibility to run your account, it is yours.

Poorly run credit union. When I first became a member, my coworkers warned me of their inability to follow the deposit agreement by creating phantom charges and inactivity fees. I gave them a chance and still used them monthly for small transactions. Still they are poorly managed by an inept staff. Their lowest advertised auto loan rate is 4.25%. When I told them I was getting 1.79% at Pentagon Federal and USAA they said «OK, 4.25 is our rate… if you qualify.» I asked for a coin counter and they said no one wants one and they are too big. I showed them people wanted one and where to find a small one, they again ignored my request. Finally, the branch wouldn’t accept a check that had two peoples name on it with an OR between them and said its a third party check. They truly do not know how to operate a banking institution.
