Completely overpriced and weak oatmeal, and completely overpriced iced tea bottle from the cooler. If you are in the neighborhood and want some oatmeal for breakfast, save yourself $ 2.50, and walk across the street to the GW Hospital Cafeteria(1st floor, accessible to anyone, just past the Starbucks, which is to the left of the front door). Oatmeal there is an amazing 99 cents(plus tax that comes out to a whopping $ 1.09), and you can add as much brown sugar AND walnuts as you’d like.

Wow, I haven’t had eggs that tasted like powdered eggs on a while. My wrap, spinach and sun dried tomato, was hot on the outside and cold, freezing cold in the middle and also only had tomato in one half. I don’t think I’d return. Shame too, the coffee was totally decent. Major disappointment.

I’ve only been here twice and both times, it’s been a meh. I got a prosciutto sandwich(~$ 8.50) the first time. The sandwich only had 3 slices of prosciutto which is low for the price point. It was good but definitely not worth the price. I remember being in Italy and ordering a prosciutto sandwich. That sandwich only had 1 slice of meat but it was only 2 euros. The second time, I decided to get a salad since I heard some good reviews about it. The options are a $ 3.5 regular bowl and a $ 4.5 large bowl with the base greens(spinach, romaine lettuce, kale, etc). However after looking at my large bowl, it seemed to have the exact amount of greens as a regular bowl, the large had a flatter base of greens while the regular had greens filled up to the top. Anyways, after choosing your base, you had a laundry lists of add-ons. Be Careful as adding toppings such as an egg, beets, corn, seeds, etc can add up really quickly as each of them were $.50. The proteins, luxury fats(avocados), walnuts, etc were each an additional $ 1, $ 2, $.75 respectively. Luckily, I just ordered a few toppings(~3) and it ended up being $ 8.00. Definitely not worth the price point here. Still hungry and un-enthused about the meals here. Would not recommend and there will definitely not be a third trip.

This was my first experience with Devon & Blakely. I wasn’t sure of what I should do when I walked in the door. I observed a lot of little food areas, soup/salad/sandwich/dessert, but no discernible flow or instructions on what to do. I caught the place at the end of the lunch rush and the selection was small. When I explained that it was my first time in and asked how it worked, the girl at the counter gave me a blank stare and the person next to her abruptly asked me what I needed. Neither of them smiled. I was hungry so I pointed to a chicken sandwich and a tomato and mozzarella with fresh basil and olive oil salad. The chicken sandwich was good, it contained chunked chicken and just enough mayo(?) to keep it together. The wheat bread was very good and had sunflower seeds on the crust. The tomato and mozzarella with fresh basil and olive oil salad was bland and overpriced. I will never order it again. At checkout, the person working the register was equally unfriendly and didn’t provide me with my receipt nor ask me if I wanted it. Was standing there waiting for it when she turned and threw it in the trash. I gave this two stars because the staff were not friendly and the food was just ok. While I will not be hot to trot to return, I’m sure I will out of necessity or because co-workers invite me. I hope my second experience is better, and if it is, I will update my review accordingly.

It looked like a trendy place around lunch time on a Friday afternoon and since I was in the area due to my friend’s graduation my friends and I decided to have lunch there. I had on of their worst sandwiches, the hummus avocado sandwich. They don’t make the sandwiches at the moment; they just give you the ones they have on display. The bread was stale and the hummus was dry. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because of their yummy chocolate croissants.
