Entrepreneur, freelancers, business owners (small or large), if you haven’t stopped by, put it on your schedule and make sure you do.
This is the largest chamber of commerce in the Washington Metropolitan area. I have been to several other chambers of commerce, and this one has been the most rewarding to my business.
Each event at the chamber is a chance to network and meet other business owners and leaders in the area. There are always new faces, new ideas and new opportunities to do business.
You don’t have to have your elevator speech polished, just stop by to check it out. There is tremendous amount of resources and information available specifically for small business owners and self-​employed professionals here. You would be doing yourself a disservice you didn’t familiarize yourself with they can offer.
They have one of the hardest working administrative staff you’ll ever come across. One of our first larger contracts came from an introduction made for us by one of their staff members. And, as your business grows, you can find assistance and advice from some of the best connected leaders in the area. This isn’t just small biz! All of the «top brass» companies attend and regularly send executives for the likes of Verizon, Pepco, XM, Fedex, Comcast, KPMG, Deloitte, Akridge, Kaiser, Walmart, George Washington University, and the list goes on.
The dues are around the tune of $ 350/​year for single employee organizations, and that is quite a steal for what this organization does and provides for you.
It’s just been a great resource for us. Just remember, bring plenty of business cards, you’ll need them.
