Everyone seems to be hating on this subway but I had a very good experience. Clean restaurant and great sandwiches as always.

Person had a tough time understanding my order-but the sandwich came out pretty good. That’s not the problem– it was the rudeness of the employees– we stood there for a few minutes while one employee was sweeping and he would just shout to another in the back to help us. It took several shouts… When the person in the back finally helped us he seemed annoyed that he had to serve us.

I wish i could give minus 3 stars to this terrible place! They didnt have bread options(only wheat). I had to tell them 3 times to put veggies on my sandwich but still turned out to be no good! I felt i was just eating a footlong with nothing in it but bread! The guy who prepared my sandwich took forever and was talking some foreign language! I am writing this review as i am sitting in store watching the staff with other customers! Result: still same! I wish they could speak ENGLISH while taking orders! Overall summary: THISPLACEISGARBAGE! Do not go!

This is not the subway to go to. My last visit was only because I got a free meal because I complained to corporate. The meat is standard subway but after that everything goes down hill! Customer service is horrible, no attrition is paid to making the sandwich and they are skimpy with the toppings. On my footling they attempted to only put 4 pickles! This is the standard with each topping. You have to constantly ask to add more to get your sandwich to a standard subway treat. After asking for more on about three different veggies, I gave up and said I was finished. They proceeded to try and cut my sandwich without wiping the knife off! I had to ask twice for that task to be performed. With attitudes by both sides, I proceeded to informed the cashier about the situation and he grumbled in his native language and told me my total. Needless to say this subway will never see a dollar from me again!

Okayyyyyy, well I guess I’m the oddball that likes this Subway. It gets an extra star because it’s very clean! Have y’all been to the Subway on H St? It’s so gross! By comparison, you could eat off the floor here(well I wouldn’t but you can let me know how it goes). The staff is normal restaurant staff– not particularly friendly but not outright hostile either. On my last visit, I told the man I didn’t need a bag but he said he wouldn’t charge me and gave me one anyway. INYOFACE, DCLIBERALSAHAHAHAHA!

Worst subway ever. The staff barely understands you when you order, the food wasn’t fresh, and it took forever to ring up the gift card I used to pay for my purchase. Also know that DC charges 5 cents for plastic bag. I didn’t want one or need one and luckily I got that taken off after I was charged for it.

Just as how the rest of the reviewers have stated the main reason I am giving this such a poor rating is because of the staff. The food is the same, it’s not that hard to mess up, but their attitude towards me was pathetic. I had ordered a foot long Oven Roasted Chicken Breast on Wheat bread. When I did, they told me that they had no wheat bread so I had to settle for white. When asked if I wanted it toasted, I replied that I did, but just as soon as I had said I wanted it toasted they were already putting lettuce on my sandwich. I gave them a blank look and asked them if they were gonna toast it and they said I had said no. I let it be and finished ordering and paid. As I was paying I noticed the person ordering had asked for wheat bread. To my surprise they gave it to him, out of the oven where the others are put to warm up. The guy lied to me straight to my face when I had asked for some. Low Low Low rating, I’d rather go to the 24 hour one in Arlington.

Three encounters… yes, i know, normal people wouldn’t come back after a bad experience. 1st Experience: Asked the staff if i can have chips and soup as a combo. The staff said ok, then proceeds to charge me for a foot long, a combo with chips and soda, and a soup. Irritated because the staff member obviously thinks I’m an idiot, I told him if he’s going to charge me for a drink & chips combo I should get my chip too… he said I told him I didn’t want it. In the end, I told him I didn’t want anything anymore because of his attitude, and he tried to force me to buy everything I ordered and gave me his the evil eye. 2nd Experience: After making my sandwich, a member of the staff pointed at the tip jar and asked me for«ti-rr-p». Of course, why would I tip him when he is being cheap with all the toppings. I asked for some jalepenos and he gave me 3 pieces for an entire footlong. 3rd Experience: Told the cashier I didn’t need a bag, but he charged me for it anyway. Maybe he didn’t understand me? So I told him to take theh 5 cents off my card and he said it costs him more than 5 cents to change the charge on the card. Ok, that’s not really my fault that you tried to rip me off 5 cents. This place believes in cutting costs and does not pay attention to the quality of their staff in terms of appearance and attitude.

This is a Subway like any other… sort of. The problem with this particular Subway, and I hope someone(the OWNER, perhaps) is reading their reviews on Unilocal, because the problem is the STAFF. Rude, non-English speaking(a big problem because you can’t understand each other), confused, disinterested, unlikeable, uncaring, and inattentive. Believe me, I could go on, but you will understand what I am talking about when you enter the store and are ten feet from the counter and the worker at the end is shouting«yes, may I help you — sir, hello… hello… «and if you feel like shouting your order past the eight people in front of you, by the time you get up to the front, he will have passed your bread to the next person on the line, who slaps the ingredients on as if he were digusted with you, his lot in life, and with his place of employment — I kid you not. If I never hear the words«Cheese and toasted?» in that uncaring monotone voice, it will be too soon. Move on to the next hostile employee and they will begin tossing ingredients onto your sandwich, but before you get a chance to finish telling them what you want, the sandwich gets tossed unceremoniously to the next person, who will then ask you what you want as if you just walked in the door. So you finish adding ingredients, then the sandwich is wrapped and tossed to the cashier as if it were a dead animal in need of disposal. Like the other reviewer said, there is eye rolling and quick conversations in another language(not sure which one) throughout. I think you get the message. This staff sucks, plain and simple. About a week ago, it seemed as if someone had talked to the staff about their manners, because everyone seemed to be going overboard to be pleasant — the workers had changed stations(but they were the same people — it was like musical chairs), and the guy at the end said, «Hello, how are you?» with a big smile — about FIVE times. I turned to my coworker and said clearly someone has had a talk with them… but as I suspected, this hasn’t lasted, and as of this morning, while there is some residual fake smiling and pleasantry, the staff is still the same bumbling, confused group, and you still have to repeat your order three to five times before you’re done. (One other thing — and it really has nothing to do with the staff, but in D.C. if you get a plastic bag, there is a $.05 fee. They may or may not ask you if you want a bag first, but if they do, this is why.) If you can live with that, the standard Subway ingredients always make for a tasty sandwich. Just don’t expect to leave this location in a good mood.

The food at this location is average for Subway but when they get busy the staff try to take orders from customers who are 5+ people back in line then get frazzled when they get the orders mixed up. This place can get CROWDED at lunch with one person sometimes holding what seems like a list of 5 – 10 sandwich orders for everyone in their entire office! Also, be warned that the fastest thing in the known universe is this Subway closing up that sandwich before you get to list all the toppings you want. Overall, I go there occasionally because it’s cheap and okay but if you go here be prepared to yell your order from 30 feet away and fight for the pickles you asked for on your sub.

Well, i just came for this particular subway store on 9th and E St and the customer service was terrible. At first, i thought it was me, the two men who began to make the sandwich were staring at me and had a very nasty attidude when i was polite to them. I thought, maybe its a bad day but the nice white lady behind me was greeted very pleasent behind me. I took it in stride, as i’m never that petty to call anyone racist etc. So i sat down after a few more rolling of the eyes by these two gentlemen. and as I was eating, I see two other African American women leaving… saying«let me get off this line before I curse these two men out» and they were walking away. I couldn’t help but ask them…“were they really rude to you? Because i thought it was just me.” and one of the young ladies replied and said«yes» he said«yuck, when i asked for a foot long» and rolled his eyes. To my amazement, i was irritated and happy at the same time. becuase i wasn’t crazy and these workers are plain rude. I’ll never return there again.

I guess it’s the ease… that’s why it’s called fast food. But I just don’t get it with Subway. It is an easy way to get a fresh sandwich. I just don’t like the chicken. It’s a kind of pre-formed chicken spam and always leaves me with a petroleum aftertaste. Still, I guess if you put enough hot peppers on the sandwich, you won’t feel the pain going in.
