I asked the front desk in Westin DC City Center to order pizza from DUCCINNI for me at 12:32am, the front desk followed up since it was taking a while and this was around 2am. The Order taker said he sent my order to another hotel. When asked why he did that, he said he did not know where the hotel is but he took down the phone number of the Hotel and the location, The order taker was extremely RUDE to the front desk and was YELLING and SCREAMING on top of his voice so I asked the front desk agent to just hang-up the phone and went to sleep. At 3:00am the pizza came. This attitude of the order taker is unacceptable and the owner should know about this. Ticket # 162

Duccini’s is the nurturing Italian grandmother I’ve always dreamt of having. Even amidst paralyzingly snowstorms, Duccinis delivers with its usual grace & grandeur. My life in DC would not be the same without this delicious, giant pizza. And there’s nothing better in the summer months than stumbling by in the wee hours and sitting on the wood benches indulging & making new friends. That’s amore!

OMG! That was the largest slice of pizza I have ever seen. Piping hot and delicious. What a great place. Just a few bar stools for eating in. Very cheap too

Good tasting pizza, and for only $ 6 total(that’s including tax) you get an absolutely huge slice of pizza.

Heard about the big pizza slices here in DC and was strongly recommended to go here over the other big slice joints. Slices are HUGE and the pepperoni was so good, the sauce very well seasoned and a good consistency, not too watery or thick. I was almost able to finish the slice. I don’t remember if they had dipping sauce or not. It was quite busy with young drunken people late on a Saturday night.

Moved recently and this pizza hit the spot. Pizza is a little bready, but, also had a good amount of toppings and there was plenty to fuel us for the process of packing and unpacking. The side Greek salad had lots of feta cheese. Prompt delivery was also a plus.

Time and time again, I have tried other places that are in a bit more convenient locations for pizza, but I always return here. Everyone I’ve introduced here has remarked on how tasty this location is– for both the popular ‘jumbo’ slices and also for the actual personalized pizzas. There is no parking whatsoever, nor is there more than standing space in the customer area. As for the pizza: The jumbo slice is what initially drew me in. As of 11-01-2015, the $ 5 cheese piece is generous and if you are able to get a fresh-from-the-oven, it is heavenly! Even if the pizza is not 100% fresh, it is still tasty. The regular, made to order pizza is also great. I usually get a combo of bacon and garlic and as strange as that combo sounds, it works quiet well. My friends rave about the vegan cheese pizzas. The website is not fancy at all, but does the trick. I have personally never had any issues with delivery, but the other reviewers’ experiences have widely varied.

Worst pizza ever. I ordered a veggie pizza, but it mostly covered with hallapinos. The toppings were not fresh and the crust was not baked properly. Also, It took more than 50 min to deliver at my hotel room, late by more than 20 min. By the time I got the pizza it was already dead cold. Very disappointed.

I live so close to this place, I frequent it pretty much on a laziness basis only. It’s pretty basic. The food is just… there. I’m indifferent honestly. If you order a calzone, you will get a no-funny-business, bare bones calzone that is no more or less than you asked for. I’m not saying it’s bad, I have NOCOMPLAINTS. It’s just kind of like you’re dreaming of a calzone and you know what its supposed to taste like, so you’re brain put together the memories of calzones past and said«trust me… it’s a calzone». I’m giving it 4-stars because it never takes too long, they’ve never made a mistake on my order, and the girl who works the register is just a class A sweetheart. I once was waiting for a sandwich maybe 15 minutes after I had called it in and she gave me free water, apologized, and threw in the packets of blue cheese I requested for free even though they’re supposed to be $ 1 ea. If you’re trying to be seduced by the intricacies of carefully crafted artisanal food, I suggest you go to Duccini’s…and then take right on 18th and find something else. But if you’re tired, drunk, or low maintenance than Duccini’s will work just fine.

So far, the best street style pizza I’ve had in DC. Their big slice actually has a thin, crispy crust(whereas others are floppy and mushy). The people there are SONICE. They recognized me, and that is a rarity in DC. I ordered four pizzas on the phone, and they were spot on for timing when I went to pick up the pizzas!

3.5 stars — Delicious jumbo pizza in Adam’s Morgan. The place is teeny tiny, so you should just order it togo and get out because there’s only 4 chairs in this store to eat inside. It’s nothing fancy, actually looks pretty run down, but the service is pretty fast so you don’t have to stay in that cramped store any longer than you have to. The jumbo slices are now $ 4.99/slice for cheese and $ 5.99/slice for pepperoni. I’ve noticed that the cheese slices were significantly larger than the pepperoni slices. All the pizzas came out sizzling hot and with generous amount of cheese to sauce ratio. Great for a cheap, quick and delicious jumbo pizza stop in DC.

Nope. They do not deliver to my house. Although it is well within the stated radius on their website, they«don’t deliver to Northeast.» I guess living up to expectations and promises while offering delivery where a lot of folks actually live is just too much to ask. Great pizza, though.

I was pleasantly surprised by this pizza place. We were looking for something tasty, affordable and would deliver to our hotel, and they came through. We were able to order online(not the most top of the line website, but certainly did the trick). It only took about 25 – 30 for delivery, so they exceeded expectations. We had the white pizza, which had what I assume was feta vs. ricotta, but it was great. I made everyone in the elevator jealous.

We ordered a pie for the kids after seeing reviews on here, and are so glad we did. My son ate half of it by himself. One of his favorite pizzas. I snagged a slice before the Prince concert, and it wasn’t too bad at all. Ordered delivery to the hotel, and it was a pretty fast delivery. If we go back to DC, I’m sure we’ll order from them again.

When you are in the Adams Morgan area and having a few adult beverages from the many bars a big slice of pizza is a must in my book. I chose Duccinis and I was not dissatisfied. The slice was huge of course as I sat down at a window seat to put a dent in the super slice. BTW seating is limited to about five chairs. For $ 6 I am not complaining about the price compared to quantity. To show how big this slice was a guy walking past the shop stopped in his tracks to look at my slice. I could read his lips as he asked«is that one slice?». I shook my head with an affirmative nod and he came in asking how it was and I told him he could not go wrong with choosing this place. When he left he called his other two friends over and pointed at my slice. I guess after they drop their cases of beer off they will be making a trip back to Duccinis. The pizza did had a little grease dripping but not so much that it was unbearable. It was just that right amount to remind me of those late night stops in my younger days. The slice was a 4 but I am only giving a 3 due to the small size of the place and very limited seating.

Heard good things so I stopped by for a slice. What you read below is correct. This is a great jumbo slice. Is it gourmet, 100% organic? No. Is it delicious and delicious? Yes. Give it a try! Not an everyday thing but definitely hits the spot if you are looking for a solid slice of pizza

My dining companion summed this place up in 3 words: «Big, fast and yummy.» (haha) In all seriousness, this place just hits the spot when you’re hungry and on-the-go. It’s one of the better(if not best) jumbo slice places I’ve tried. $ 5 for a regular slice that takes up the space of two box panels. Great for late nights after working up a sweat dancing or being out on the town. The cheese has the perfect amount of chew(without being rubbery or falling apart). You won’t feel sick eating the whole slice. Also, comes with pepperoni and mushroom. Limited seating area, but everyone just squeezes in at night. Street parking on the bottom of the hill on 18th.

This review is for jumbo slice only. We came here last night following a good night out with plenty of drinks — this is a prerequisite for jumbo slice. The line was out the door as it usually is, but it moved quickly. We got a slice of mushroom and a slice of pepperoni. The woman who took our order was incredibly friendly. The pepperoni and cheese slices are pre-made and delicious. It had been a while since my last visit, and I’d forgotten that they just throw a bunch of mushrooms on a slice, heat it and then serve it. Unfortunately, this process dries out the pizza and makes it less tasty. The pizza itself is delicious(just stick to cheese or pepperoni). In addition to jumbo slice they also serve some subs and the likes. What’s really nice are the cheese, oregano and red pepper shakers.

With so many jumbo slice pizza options in Adams Morgan, and with most in a drunken state and don’t really care what they are eaten, I’ve taken it upon myself to really truly see which has the best jumbo slice in Adam’s Morgan while sober now that I live in this neighborhood. Pizza Mart the Original, Jumbo Slice Pizza the brother of Pizza Mart’s owner with his own recipe, Boli’s the Chain, and Duccini’s are the major players vying to get the business of late night drunk Adams Morgan crowd looking to get a jumbo slice. These jumbo slices come out super hot out of the oven, hotter than the surface of the sun, and on more than one occasion have I seen a drunken person bite into it instantly and get burned. I feel for those who have to wake up to second degree burns in their mouth, that cannot be fun. So for those who don’t know, let it cool down for a bit unless you enjoy pain! For those wondering(I was), Pizza Mart was the original and the one who started the infamous jumbo slice in Adam’s Morgan. I have seen this jumbo slice concept make it as far as Colombia, in South America, and my friend even told me that someone has recently opened a jumbo slice joint in Paris, of all places(the funny thing is, their«jumbo slice» is the size of a NY large pizza slice, which is jumbo to Parisians). Anyways, onto the pizza slice from Duccini’s. Whereas the other jumbo slices I have had in AM were greasy, floppy, and ultimately tasty, Duccini’s was the best of them because they actually toast the bottom part of the pizza dough, making it charred and crispy. This is what separates Duccini’s from the other jumbo slices. You get a nice satisfying crunch when you take a bite, similar to NY pizza joints. The bottom crispyness of the pizza makes all the difference, and the tomato sauce is also good. I am crowning Duccini’s as the best jumbo slice in Adam’s Morgan. Duccini’s is not on 18th street though so I do not fear of this place of overcrowding like the other jumbo slice places, as the drunken crowd will stumble around like a zombie to the closest pizza they will find, which will probably be Jumbo Slice Pizza, Pizza Mart, or Pizza Bolis.
