I’ve worked out here consistently since May 2015. It’s a nice neighborhood gym and located a block away from me. I’m pretty sure all members live nearby. The gym has two floors. The main floor has aerobic equipment(elliptical machines, treadmills, stair master), a Smith machine, a cable machine, various other exercise and stretch machines, and free weights. It can get crowded in the evening with people hogging the Smith machine. The main floor also has a few small lockers to store your belongings. There is one shower and two bathrooms — there are no locker rooms. The basement has a squat rack, pull up bar, bench press, two punching bags, a plyo box and free weights. There’s some space to do your own aerobic training. There’s also an exercise room for boot camp classes, but otherwise it’s not open. PROS: — It’s cheap! — It’s close to where I live. — It has 80% of what you need to get your sweat on. — It’s open from 6AM to 9PM weekdays; 9AM to 6PM weekends, I think. — Mornings are not too crowded. — People come to work out, there’s no drama. — It’s a nice addition to the neighborhood. CONS: — It’s small. — The setup downstairs can be A LOT better — the broken machines can be moved to make the place more functional. — Some of the equipment does not work well. — There are a limited number of free weight plates. Overall, I’m glad Fitness Factory is here and I hope they do well.
