We didn’t have the time to wait for a table at our first choice so hoofed it to this place on a chilly afternoon. It was a late lunch(almost 2:30) but the place was about 30% full. Most of the«crowd» was comprised of small groups of college age customers who appeared to be having a good time. Obviously they had more beer than my party. Our orders were simple; Fish and Chips, Create Your Own(Chicken) Burger w/sweet potato fries and K Street Hickory Burger w/fries(no bacon, please). We ordered simple and that’s exactly what we got. You’ll find nothing fresh here. It’s absolutely all«fresh» from the freezer which explains why the fish was thick with batter and bland. The sweet potato fries arrived cold and the chicken was dry. The Hickory Burger was hot but arrived with the bacon(that was cold, undercooked and fat). While we initially considering splitting a dessert or two, we passed after eating the plain, unimaginative meal. Our server was pleasant and refreshed our drinks and the restrooms were clean. As for the remainder of the experience, we’ll be more patient and wait for a table at our first choice next time we’re in that part of D.C.

A place that has pub food that also serves phở? I figured it was worth checking out and checking out quick. I walked in with a friend of mine, and didn’t expect the sleek, new bar that we walked into. We ended up sitting on the restaurant side and sat down and I wanted phở. While my buddy wanted beer, so I got the phở and ended up getting a pitcher of their house beer. The beer was all right, but it was cheap. The phở was pretty good, not the best I’ve had but pretty cheap for 10 bucks and a huge bowl of it. I had phở later in the week and Froggy Bottom was cheaper and tastier. Another friend joined up so another pitcher of the house red was ordered and downed. The bar doesn’t close until late but the restaurant side, basically the left side of the hostess stand is the restaurant space which closes around 11.

Came here with a group of friends after work to watch the NBA game. Got phở, it was ok. Probably would stick to getting chicken tenders for next time

Decent food. Great Service. Looks like a family operation. I recommend skipping the Bloody Mary though.

I’ve been coming here off and on for over a decade, and the owner always remembers me, even though I left DC9 years ago. I love that. And they make the best damn burgers ever. New location is great though I’m nostalgic for the old one. Highly recommend.

I’d love to be witty and quick-witted, but mediocre is all I can come up with. That’s all they gave us. In fact, I’d like to give 2 ½ stars for a straight average score. Group of 4 orders four lunches. Turkey wrap with cranberry-horseradish sauce? Sort of plain and bland. Grilled cheese sandwich? Wrong one came and had to make sure to say«hearty» to get more than Kraft on Wonderbread. They were quick to apologize and replace. Meatball Phở? Average. Some other sandwich that was so non-memorable that no comments were made. Fries were average, and I could heat up better ones at home. The«spicy» adds some seasoning salt. The wings appetizer that we got was honey siracha. By far the best food we got, but we’d ordered hot buffalo, not honey siracha. The beer was good?

Froggy Bottom is completely standard and has good service. The phở was really, really yummy and the beer on tap was pretty decent, too. We shared a quesadilla which we all could have skipped and the Bahn Mi wasn’t so great either. The restaurant is very noisy, but that’s not a complaint– just a heads up! We would definitely go back for the phở.

This is one of my favorite pubs in Foggy Bottom. They have good happy hour deals from 4PM-7PM and 10PM to close Monday through Friday and all day Saturday. Pretty wide selection of beers as well as wines and a few cocktails. The food is tasty and the menu is an interesting combo of typical American pub food(burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta) and Vietnamese(phở and banh mi). I am sandwich lover and thus usually opt for one of their sandwiches with the spicy fries on the side(french fries with Old Bay seasoning). Next time, I want to try the phở. It looks like legit phở based on what I have seen from people at neighboring tables. The pub is simple, clean, and no frill kind of place with a laidback feel. They have outdoor seating during good weather, which is always a pleasant option. Despite being right off of K St. the outdoor area is relatively calm and quiet. Good, fast, and attentive service. All the times I have been, it is usually only one or two servers for the entire pub yet the service is not slow or lacking. They are truly working their tails off!

This place is flat-out spectacular in my book. It’s right next to work, which is great. But it’s also my everything — really solid lunch menu(burgers, sandwiches, salads), love it for happy hour, and they also have phở, if your happy hour turned into a happy all-night bender(it’s the best hangover remedy). What makes this place so mind-blowing really is how good all the food items are. I could eat that chilli with everything and on everything — even a shoe(story for another time). Service, price, and ambiance fit the bill. Froggy Bottom Pub, you odd-ball pub/Vietnamese place — don’t change. dmo out

One of my favorite types of food is Irish pub grub and honestly it can’t get any better than the shockingly unique and delicious fair at Froggy Bottom. You would think that once you saw the ridiculously brazen sarif-font signage complete with what appears to be a drunken frog carrying a pitcher of beer, you’d be running for the hills. However, once you get over yourself and make it past those doors, you’ll be surprised by pleasantly thoughtful interiors, plenty of TVs for sporting events, a really large bar, and shockingly delicious fair that has an Irish Pub grub menu as well as — get this — a Vietnamese menu(as somewhat of a compliment to the Vietnamese owner — quite the firecracker but a real sweetheart). Doesn’t make sense does it? But once you try one of the Phở dishes, you’ll be pretty shocked at how well executed it is — and as I’m told by people who are resoundingly cooler than I am and more knowledgeable about phở, this gives many other restaurants that specialize in phở a run for their money. The pub grub itself is fucking delicious and undoubtedly hits the spot. I mean seriously — you’d think that you cannot write a review and talk about crispy chicken tenders, savory wings, golden fish and chips, and outstanding nachos, and fresh vegetable platters? Think again — these set the standards of pub grub and will definitely make you want to keep coming back. I think of Froggy Bottom the same way as I think of spending 5 hours playing Mario Kart on the Wii at the tender age of 35 — my ultimate guilty pleasure. The prices are very reasonable and happy hour menu puts the prices even lower — an outstanding bang for your buck in this part of town. The apparently house-made Froggy Bottom lager is a kind of complementary of partially fermented penguin piss but somehow drinkable — discretion is advised. Otherwise, this is surprisingly one of my favorite pubs in DC. Cheers.

We dropped in on a Friday Evening and sat outside. A big party ate all the pizza! But there were plenty of alternatives and great service! This was a great find and we met the owner who is awesome. If you miss this place it is your loss

I used to go to Froggy Bottom before it moved to the new location. First of all, the new location is gorgeous! Great setup, music, employees(as usual) and menu. Choose anything from a salad to burger to phở. Don’t forget the? Froggy Lager which for a pitcher is reasonably priced. My phở was delicious. One person I dined with got a burger that was a tad overdone for his liking despite him ordering it «medium.» Going here with groups for food or drinks seems like it would be a blast.

The Phở Froggy is the best. Good value and great taste. The restaurant is spotless, bright and cheery. The staff is also quite pleasant and always willing to chat. At a recent visit my group had three of the Phở’s, a chicken sandwich, a Ruben sandwich, and a Pizza. The check came to about $ 75 and we all agreed that everything was outstanding.

Me and my friends LOVE this place. Vietnamese food and drinks? What more can you ask for! I’ve had better Banh Mi, but their sandwiches are really good. This place also just has such good vibes and you really enjoy the atmosphere.

We found this restaurant when we got lost our first night in town. We had the nachos with home made chili and my husband had a tuna melt. Our orders arrived very quickly. We both agree that they were the best nachos we’ve ever had. He said that tuna melt was fantastic and the tuna didn’t taste canned. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. The owner was around but we didn’t talk to her. We returned two nights later and my husband had a steak wrap and I had Pip’s crispy chicken wrap. I also tried the house amber ale. We both really liked our sandwiches. I grew up eating a lot of fresh Asian food so I really appreciated the healthy, complex yet lightly done flavors of my wrap. The amber ale was good. The owner stopped by to see if we need anything. Again, everyone was very friendly and the food arrived quickly.

What happened to the hole in the wall I used to frequent as a college student?! Now its a really nice restaurant… I feel like a proud mama seeing her kid grow up :’) I was in DC for the weekend, and I had to go check out the new location, and of course I had to get a bowl of phở. Same good old bowl of phở, complete with the cilantro/bean sprouts. Just glad to see that even though the location and look are different, the food is still great.

I brought a friend here for her birthday lunch. She got the Phở Froggy and loved it. I also bought her a beer too :) I got the chicken bow tie pasta, which was delicious. I love this place because my friend really wanted phở and I did not – so it was the perfect place to hit up. This place is new and the staff is great and the service is fast and friendly. I think this is my new favorite spot to eat at lunch during the work week. The total for the entire meal plus a beer and a sprite was less than $ 40!

Froggy Bottom is a bit of an odd mix: pub food + VIetnamese fare + classy pub design? Call me Connie or call me confused. Happy Hour : $ 3FBP Amber/Miller Lite/Yuengling $ 412oz Bottled Beers & House Wine $ 5 Pints, Wine, & Rails $ 7 Bartenders’ Creations Food — I’d play it safe and go with pub food. I had the chicken tenders & fries($ 8) which really couldn’t be wronged. As much as I was tempted to try the Vietnamese good as a Vietnamese person myself… I don’t think this is the place to do it. Space — Half restaurant, half bar. More space than it looks!

Yesterday was the first time I’d gone to the new location, and I see the positive improvements. The old location was multiple floor and felt narrow; the new location is very open. It’s a block or so farther from GW campus, but it invites the employees downtown which is a bonus demographic for the restaurant. The food is good, and the prices compared to others in that area are good. I went during lunch to watch the US. V Germany game. My husband and his coworker grabbed a good bar spot at 11:30, and it became packed at 11:45. Despite the packed crowd, I think the bartenders did a great job with managing orders and tabs.

This place has one of the strangest concept that I have ever come across, I have never heard of a pub that also serves Phở, so that threw me for a loop. Also usually pubs don’t look this nice. This place is pretty nice on the inside, long bar, nice open windows, comfortable dining area, place is definitely clean and sleek. Service was good, waiter was friendly and efficient. He kept the water glass filled and made sure he was around if something was needed. Food was decent aside from the Phở, they have the average American pub menu. I kept it simple and built my own burger. Nice medium rare piece of meat that was well seasoned and cooked nicely. Added the mushrooms on top and they was sauteed nicely and nice added flavor. Accompanying french fries were nicely salted and hot to the touch. Can’t speak on the Phở but the pub faire is decent and worth a visit if you’re in the area.
