It’s a hole in a dilapidated area but it is consistent in its service and food. It is a bare bones establishment, you can go in or call in for carry out but know that there is nowhere to sit so you’re better off calling in your order and just picking up. The food is okay bit there is something to be said about consistency. Often I’ll go to a carry out and sometimes they forget my mumbo sauce and sometimes the food is off. At Goodies they have never forgotten to include my sauce. I usually get General Tso, orange chicken, sesame chicken, or wings. Each time consistently good. Not mouth watering delicious but good.

They’re closing which is why they’re prices have gone up. They have 4 wings with fries for nearly 6 bucks??? Idk when they’re closing.

Has not disappointed over many years of going there! I am writing more here because this place deserves better from me after being there for me for so many years. Tasty hunan chicken. Cheap and delicious cheeseburger and fries. Everything. Yummmmm I am going to order it right nowwwww.

Food took a little over an hr(they said at most 45mins). Spring roll was warm & not hot. I also ordered a small shrimp & broccoli-shrimp wasn’t as crunchy & fresh as I hoped & the broccoli flowers were mushy, but the stalks were crunchy. Just seemed like it was sitting there for a while or something. Wasn’t the best chinese, but all in all I’d order again because the flavors were good, it’s cheap, and they take card, just wasn’t fresh, OR hot like it should have been. I’d probably order something safer though.

I ordered the chicken and vegetables, with the brown sauce on the side. It came with white rice, and I also got an order of the spring rolls. The spring rolls were pretty decent, but they didn’t give me any soy sauce at all with the delivery! However — they did provide a styrofoam plate, which was courteous. The chicken… was disgusting. I couldn’t eat any of it. The chicken and vegetables were served in a separate plastic container, about a third of the way full of water. The chicken is «steamed» apparently, giving it a terrible texture and flavor. it was like eating water flavored chicken and vegetables. I forced myself to eat the rice with some brown sauce, did I mention — they forgot to give me soy sauce? It was terrible, and i will never order from there again.

I feel like giving this place 4 stars may compromise the integrity of my ratings, but bear with me as I explain. Staying at the Washington Hospital center and have no idea what is good to eat in the area but really tired of the cafeteria food. Found this place on Unilocal, called and learned that they delivered. Ordered eggrolls, chicken fried rice, pork fried rice, hunan chicken, and broccoli beef. For some reason after ordering 3 entrees the lady on the phone told me i got another free — not complaining. Delivery was on time. The food: chicken fried rice was par-subpar, used white and dark meat but chicken was free of gristle/cartilage which was nice. Not very flavorful. On the other hand, the pork fried rice was quite flavorful. The broccoli beef was decent, as were the chicken and eggrolls. The lady on the phone recommended the pork fried rice and the hunan chicken, which were considerably better than the dishes i picked myself. Ask her advice and stick with it. The highs: pork fried rice, hunan chicken The lows: chicken fried rice, no fortune cookies Overall: This was probably closer to a 3 star meal, but the ladies suggestions were good enough to bump it up one notch

I have eaten here twice. On the first visit, we ordered Chinese food. The food was more flavorful than the average neighborhood Chinese take-out joint. The hot and sour soup was actually really good(both hot and sour). On the second visit, I had a gyro. It was not good at all. I will eat there again but I think I will stick with the Chinese.

It’s hard to get great delivery in D.C., but Goodie’s is THE place for a quick, easy, and tasty night in. My boyfriend doesn’t even like Chinese food, and he loves Goody’s. In general, nothing is too gloppy or MSG-laden(though my General Tso’s Tofu was sort of curiously thick last time. I’ll go with the Sesame dish next time). Their wonton soup came with so many wontons that I was full after eating it. And their veggie lo mein is AWESOME. The flavors are very layered and interesting and it’s full of tasty vegetables. Best of all, they have CheeseSteak Eggrolls! They must make their wonton wrappers by hand, because they are not the stuff of typical Chinese carryout places(gross crystalline, bright yellow things with tiny, abrasive bubbles). They were like a fine cannoli – smooth, big tasty bubbles, fresh tasting. And they were filled with beef, cheese, and caramelized onions. Order some. Now. You’ll thank me later.

Good stuff at a great price. I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food. Having said that, I thought the place was great. It’s fast, the portions are huge, and you get free sodas or an egg roll if you spend $ 10 and free rice or a 2 liter if you spend $ 20. It’s the best Chinese food we’ve had in the area.

Definitely exceeded my expectations! Some of the best Chinese I’ve ever had, and at a very reasonable price. The brown sauce with the Happy Family dish is excellent.

Consider this review a rave. I love Goodie’s! I had gotten their food delivered for years before I saw their tiny, bullet-proof glass encased storefront on Georgia Ave. Who knew a place like that could produce consistently excellent, high-quality food? Goodie’s sells Chinese food and also American food and pizzas. I have never ordered anything other than the Chinese, so that’s what this review covers. FOOD: Goodie’s uses very high quality ingredients and cooks them well. Here you get large chunks of flavorful roasted pork, chicken, beef, and shrimp. The sauces are never greasy, gloppy, or over-powering. The vegetables are large, crisp, and fresh, never mushy or soggy. I love the vegetable egg roll, with it floury, crisp wrapper and crunchy cabbage filling. The wonton soup can be hit or miss — sometimes the ratio of pork filling to wonton wrapper is a little underwhelming, but when they are good they are very good. Also recommended: sesame chicken, beef with garlic sauce, shrimp lo mein(the shrimps are HUGE for the price!), and cashew chicken(very generous with the toasted cashews). COST: This is the best part of Goodie’s — it’s SO cheap! Wonton soup = $ 1.75/ pint; shrimp fried rice or lo mein = $ 4.95/pint; sesame chicken = $ 8.95 for a portion big enough for two; pork with black bean sauce = $ 5.25/pint. Delivery minimum is $ 10. Every menu has several coupons for free items if you buy a certain amount. There is also a fun surprise in your delivery bag: A completely random soda! I have received cans of Country Time lemonade and Hawaiian punch and a 2 liter bottle of Rock Creek Strawberry soda. You can try to request a normal soda, but they are usually out and it’s fun to see what they will bring. Try Goodie’s! You won’t be sorry!
