I really like the emerging 14th Street and U Street art scenes. I often find myself leaving work and visiting Irvine and Plan B on 14th Street, then walking over to Hamilton and Project 4 on U Street. These private galleries each have their own look, but their feel, well they each make you feel accepted.
I like Hamiltonian, for example, because it’s staff understands that some visitors only want to appreciate the art for the art. Honestly, I can’t tell you about any art movement or modern artists or even notable works. But I can tell you what I find visually appealing, and the guys at Hamiltonian get that.
