I worked with Lesley and she was fantastic. I just bought a small space and had most of the layout in my head but I needed some help with a color scheme and those small details that tie everything together. We met over video and I bought three hours of time. Lesley had so much energy and enthusiasm. After our consultation via Facetime, she had my wishlist and likes/dislikes and she was off. We met the next week for the debrief and she had awesome ideas! She created a Pinterest board that I could then start to add to as I continued decorating. I only paid for three hours so she was not able to hit every single thing on my list but she focused on what was paralyzing me the most(colors!) and picked out some cool furniture pieces, rugs and bedding that have created a solid foundation for me to work from. And, I can’t forget, she was conscious of my budget. If I hadn’t received Lesley’s help I would still be wasting money on paint samples and searching for furniture/accessories with no focus or direction. I liked Homepolish because it gave me the option of having someone come out and do everything for me OR have someone help me build on the ideas I already had. I think the money was well spent for what I needed done and I would work with them again, especially with Lesley.

You get what you pay for with Homepolish, which means you don’t get a lot. I went through 2 designers, 24 hours of design time and more than $ 3000 and ended up with ZERO completed projects(or even started projects — we were so off base on the design that I didn’t purchase any items for the two bedrooms). I also found that you could get better discounts signing up for email lists than you could through using their service — and the only thing I did buy(cushions for my backyard), ended up being canceled THREE months after I ordered them and HP was incredibly unhelpful in figuring out what all the cryptic emails from the seller meant. The biggest problem is that you can’t see the designer’s style before you pick them — so we weren’t a match at all. Then they don’t look at the quality of the furniture and are more hours-focused than project-driven that I ended up with some useless mood boards and no furniture after more than 3 months(and 100+ hours of my own time). With both designers, they waited until we were 95% out of time to tell me they wouldn’t be done and that I’d need to purchase more time to finish the project. That felt really dirty to me. I wish they had let me know 50% of the way through so I could decide how best to use the time. Save your time. Either go with an actual designer that is invested in finishing your project or do it yourself — this is one area with the social e-community just isn’t worth it. It was the worst/most frustrating experience of my life — and I’m someone who will go forward with Handy. I’d add photos but all you’d see would be my furniture-less house.
