My seven year old son has been wrestling with this club, led by Coach Long, for six months. He loves it. There are all levels of wrestlers, starting with complete beginners and moving up to advanced. It’s a great place to introduce your child to this sport. Each child gets plenty of attention from the all-volunteer staff of coaches. The club also provides opportunities for the kids to participate in local tournaments. I highly recommend this club.

My 8 year old son has been going to the wrestling club for about 3 months and is very enthusiastic about the class. The environment is just great, and very nonjudgmental — I see kids 5 – 11 of all walks of life scrambling around and have yet to see a single case of kids getting out of control, being hurt, or being mean to each other. Clearly the dedication and professionalism of the all-volunteer coaches plays into this. The coaching staff are good at matching kids, careful not to focus on the highly talented or call out the novices. You also see just how much care for the kids, and love of the sport the volunteers have. Further, and most importantly, every kid I see there and every one we’ve recommended this to has a blast(a rubber room is a great way for kids to blow steam and then focus) Anyways, well worth trying out if you are even mildly curious.

This is a non-profit, free youth wrestling club for beginner and intermediate wrestlers. Coach Long is very patient and takes time with each child. The practices are flexible based on age of the participants and skill level. It’s a great opportunity to introduce your child to the sport!
