Great sandwich place. Not even a huge sandwich person, but needed a quick bite to eat. I got the Steps Beach sandwich. They made it quickly and I scarfed it down– it was so good! They’re very open to customizing your sandwich– I asked for pumpernickel bread instead of multigrain, which I believe it originally comes on. Great vegetarian options as well and a ton of salad selections, perfect for those health-conscious foodies. Will definitely be back to try some of their other sandwiches. Note: Card only! No cash!

The sandwiches themselves are delicious, albeit a little pricey. If you can order online or catch a less crowded period of time, this Nantucket-themed sandwich shop is an excellent choice. However, if you hit up this spot at prime time, you’re going to be disoriented and waiting a long time. It’s not very organized at the counter, and it wasn’t clear what order a lot of the items were coming out. In true NWDC style, patrons got antsy and vocal about the disorder while the two people behind the counter tried to get it together. Consider yourself warned, especially if you’re in a rush.

What a great find on our trip to DC. Sandwich and salad were among the tastiest we have had. Costumer service was great too.

I’m a huge fan of all the Jetties joints — and when this location was a bakery they made my wedding cake(outstanding)

This place is the G-13 of sandwich places… Bomb turkey and bacon, clam chowder is straight keif…

They actually have a whole roasted turkey in the back that they carve fresh turkey slices from when ordered. It’s very good, not like typical cold cuts. Recommend any sandwich with turkey.

I would never come back to this restaurant again because I got sick twice with diarrhea. They should wash their hands offen when preparing food. Yuck!

I have had countless Nobadeers(Thanksgiving meal in sandwich form) which are still one of the best sandwiches around town. I just had a Still Dock(breaded chicken and Chipotle mayo) which is now a very close second. Delicious! Two other sandwiches I’ve tried are also good, the Quidnet(Italian) and the Surfside(turkey/bacon/avocado). Salads are good but are generally over-priced. They also serve ice cream and have other good desserts. Overall a great spot to grab a quick meal. Absolutely no seating inside just fyi.

I have always went to the FoxHall location. They are amazing, professional and friendly. Today I went to the Macomb location. Horrible employees ruined our experience. They were lazy, they didn’t greet you, and they plain did not care. Case in point. I ordered the Monomoy. Essentially a french dip on a sub roll. I got roast beef on a hamburger bun. HOW can you dip a hamburger bun in au jus? It gets soggy and defeats the whole sandwich. And after I got home I called to report the issue and was told«Nothing we can do» Avoid this location and just to go FoxHall.

Ordered the monomoy which was listed as being on a sub roll according to their online ordering system. I get home and it’s on a sesame seed roll. Normally not a big deal unless you can’t have sesame seeds. I called the restaurant to rectify and the cashier said there was nothing they could do in this case and said he should have told me when I ordered. Umm thanks for nothing. Won’t be going here again.

The bottom line is that for a sandwich/salad/dessert place, it will make a dent in your wallet. I’ve tried the Nobadeer, the Sconset(recommend it for vegetarians), the Still Dock, but the Surfside is why I keep coming back. You can alter the menu sandwiches/salads or make your own, so you can’t really go wrong here! Customizable menu is great for vegetarians/vegans. The food is fresh and made in a timely manner. The milkshakes are SODAMNGOOD, treat yourself to one on paycheck day. Usually people don’t linger around to eat unless if it’s a family. The staff is super friendly and talkative when they aren’t too busy, and they’re down to suggest their personal favorites. TL; DR: Family-friendly. Quick but pricey food. Consistently good quality. Awesome staff.

My first(and maybe only) visit was a disappointing experience. I stopped by to pick up food to go picnic at Gravelly Point. Two kids meals, two sandwiches, a couple cokes, a couple lemonades, and a water. Before leaving, I had to remind the guy to give me drinks for the kids meals. Turns out I should have checked everything because when I got to the park I was also missing one of the two sandwiches! No forks or spoons were in the kids plates(kinda hard to eat corn without them). The food we did get was fine and were decent size portions. I guess I should have checked for everything myself, but I shouldn’t have had to.

Some of the best hot sandwiches money can buy out here. They are not cheap but they are delicious. Highly recommend the hot turkey and gravy or Italian meats sandwiches. This is not an ice cream parlor or fine dining restaurant, so take some of these negative reviews in stride.

The juice bar next door was closed due to a fire. So I ended up at Jetties to get my son some ice cream on a very hot day. The service was good but I’m blown away by the excessive price of a kids scoop of ice cream…$ 2.95, which isn’t too bad until I asked for one topping which was less than a tbsp of chocolate sprinklers and I was charged $ 1! That is just crazy to me! So $ 4.35 later to feed a 2.5 year old some ice cream. Ugh! Maybe I’m just crabby cause it’s so hot outside. :)

I frequent this place quite often and you can’t go wrong with the Nobadeer sandwich or Altar Rock salad without the bleu cheese crumbles. It can be pretty expensive for a sandwhich spot, hence the 4 stars.

My sandwhich was delicious!!! Can’t remember what it was called but it was turkey on sourdough with bacon and avocado. It was pretty big, fresh, thicker turkey and made pretty quickly. The place is a little pricey for a sandwhich shop, mine was almost $ 12 after adding sprouts. I would highly recommend it though if you don’t mind forking out a few extra bucks for a fresh yummie sandwhich. Parking can be a little bit of a pain, but I’m realizing that’s DC.

The sandwiches are great — delicious and huge. They may seem pricey but a half a sandwich here = a whole sandwich for me. And the turkey is real, carved while you wait — not that pressed lunch meat kind. My favorite is the Nobadeer — basically Thanksgiving in a sandwich. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and even though it’s small inside, I enjoy sitting at their one table. I’ve never had room for dessert, in itself a recommendation for Jetties’ sandwiches!
